From the Bride… My husband and I did not have many requirements for our wedding. We craved a relaxed environment, fantastic food and an experience for our guests beyond watching us tie the knot. When we found Tina and Kevin and their home, Bear Flag Farm, we knew it was the perfect venue; they are hands-on with every single detail of wedding planning and provide a farm-to-table experience. We entrusted Tina and her talented team with the design of our wedding. I spent weeks scouring my favorite site, Style Me Pretty, and forwarded everything that made me smile to Tina. She turned my inspiration into a unique beauty. With a little help from Etsy, I added small personal details to our wedding, my favorite of which was the sign for my mother’s chair. 

And then there was the food. We ate heirloom tomatoes picked the morning of the wedding, dipped San Francisco bread in Bear Flag Farm olive oil, drank beverages and desserts made from farm fruit, and admired centerpieces displaying freshly picked farm peppers. The experience for our guests did not end there. A vintage ferris wheel was available for rides all night, placed alongside Bear Flag Farm’s lavender field, and a San Francisco ice cream truck surprised guests at the end of the evening.

Details aside, our favorite parts of wedding day were those that were unplanned. For me, it was the few minutes that my beautiful mother helped me get dressed. Just like her, I wore a Priscilla of Boston dress and veil. After putting on the dress that my mother and little sister had chosen, and then my mother’s diamond earrings as my “ something borrowed,” I looked in the mirror and realized I was the image of my mother, who I admire and love so much. I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. The moment that was most special to both of us was the ceremony. Despite foregoing a rehearsal, it was the most perfect part of the day. Standing under neon sunflowers, we laughed, joked, cried and promised, in front of our favorite people in the world. My father and husband shed so many tears that love emanated more than any of us could have ever imagined.
