From Verite Photography... These Canadians met in 10th grade, and even though they went to their senior prom together, they were really just best friends for many years. (Andrea even dated Craig’s closest guy friend, the best man at the wedding!) But when Craig was studying abroad, Andrea started realizing just how much she missed him! Once he was home for a holiday break, she made sure they were more than best friends. Since then, they have endured a FOUR-year, long-distance relationship while Craig was in medical school, but that just made them even more in love and more connected to each other.
Andrea spent hours on the color scheme: navy blue and pink with hints of green. They first showed up in the bridesmaids’ gift bags, complete with pink sparkly TOMS shoes, then in Andrea’s navy blue jewelry designed by Haute Bride, and of course in all the obvious places — the dresses, the boys’ checkered ties, flowers and even in their drink refreshments and the tree lanterns. The dessert table was killer, due in large part to the amazing designs and tasty creations by the cakepop and cupcake artists — each flavor was a different masterpiece! The dress wasn’t in Andrea’s budget at all, but once she tried it on, there was no going back — she was in love with the swirling organza of Vera Wang!
The best thing about this wedding though was the laughter and the love. Around 80% of the guests came from Canada, so they really wanted this to be a super fun and relaxing getaway and reunion in the wine country. And it was! There were divorced parents hugging and kissing, hilarious toasts that included sing-a-longs, and the most entertaining video presentation we’ve ever seen! We, as the photographers, did NOT want to leave! It was a day filled with sunshine, sincerity, true love for each other and their guests and TONS of laughter!
