From Sonia Hopkins of XOXO Bride… Nancy and Gregg, our super fun and hip couple from Manhattan, took California by storm with their wedding. The festivities lasted all weekend, beginning with a welcome dinner at Hope Ranch private beach. Guests were transported back in time by riding a classic yellow school bus to the private beach where these trendy New Yorkers kicked off their Manolo Blahnik’s and Ferragamo’s and tip-toed through the warm sand. Guests sipped cocktails and flirted with the waves until the dinner bell was rung. Finger lickin’ food was in their near future with authentic BBQ served by the one and only Santa Barbara BBQ Gourmet Catering. Sunset grew near and guests high-tailed it back to the beach for a bonfire and s’mores delights.
Weather was not in our favor on the wedding day, so the ceremony was moved inside. We re-created a classic indoor space by draping the windows that showed the impending storm, which rather provided a beautiful soft glow as their ceremony backdrop. The bride in her amazing Vera Wang gown and groom in his custom-tailored Tom Ford suit couldn’t resist the sand and took an opportunity to run and play one more time before dinner. In a nod to New York chic, the bridesmaids wore black Thread dresses, the bride danced in her naughty but nice black lace up Jimmy Choo’s, and we couldn’t resist talking about her stunning jewels by Rodrigo Otazu. Breathtaking! The couple and their guests danced the night away with custom scratching by DJ Phresh, who was specially flown in from New York to spin for their wedding. Sunday brunch was hosted by the couple at Bacara’s Miro Restaurant. The stunning California views, bloody marys and reminiscing of the night’s events left everyone in high spirits. Congratulations to Nancy and Gregg!
