I don’t know if there’s ever been a more appropriate wedding for a Valentine’s celebration. It’s romantic times a trillion with a pinch me it’s so perfect palette of blushing hues and enough sweets from Sweet & Saucy Shop to feed a small nation. Now THAT is how we like to celebrate the Day o’ Love. And the photography by This Modern Romance? Not only appropriately named but it also happens to be devastatingly gorgeous. See it all here!

From the bride… The wedding was an outdoor affair at a country club nestled up in the Bel Air mountains of Los Angeles. With beautiful views of the mountains, it truly was a gem of a place to find in LA. We had 300 guests which made the task of making the wedding personal quite a task. We ordered glassine bags, filled them with our favorite childhood candies, sewed a zig-zag pattern on them with a sewing machine to close them off, then used zig-zag scissors to make the edges look uneven and put a personalized sticker on each one. For the dessert cupcakes, we bought bags of heart-shaped wood pieces from a craft store, spray painted them red and hot glued them onto popsicle sticks. Each cupcake that was served had this and it made for a magical feel. We decided to use pink lemonade bottles from Trader Joe’s in our table numbers. We soaked them in water to get the tags off and then glued lace around them, replaced the cap with a cork, cut a slit in the cork and put the handmade table numbers in the cork. Total success and a perfect way to bring in some of the pink that was in our color palette.
We also wanted mercury glass at our wedding and had a very difficult time finding it! We ended up making weekly trips to TJ Maxx, Marshalls and Home Goods. We were able to find 90 mismatched vases for all the tables because we wanted three tiered vases per table. We were the proud owners of 40 vases (!!!) until the country club loved them so much that they bought them from us to use at future events! PERFECT! Our table seating chart was made of a privacy screen found at a flea market combined with tulle, ribbons and antique frames. The antique bike was a way to tie into our wedding invitation that featured a tandem bike. One trip to Del Mar and some haggling presented us with an awesome feature that tied everything together. We bought a bike basket and had the florist fill it up with flowers, giving it a very natural feeling. The fingerprint bike was also specially made to feature a tandem bike and the fingerprints present balloons pulling the bike into the air.
For our the cocktail hour tables, we bought many antique books and old tea sets to make up the centerpieces. Every centerpiece was a different old piece of a tea set with different flowers inside each one. The lemonade stand was also a collection of old wine boxes that we found and lemonade dispensers that we purchased. We made lollipop towers by covering styrofoam cones bought from craft stores with ribbon and sticking lollipos in them. We bought many boxes of gray and white straws and printed our initials on them. One night while watching TV, we put them all together using a zigzag scissor to cut the edges. We made a mobile to hand above the dessert table using needlepoint circles, lace and different fabrics. For music during our cocktail hour, we only played Beatles songs. People loved it! It was also important for us to somehow incorporate our grandparents, who are no longer with us, into our wedding, so we had a table with all of their wedding pictures.

This is the most beautiful wedding I have seen on this site to date. The details create such a ethereal and beautiful aesthetic. Doesn't hurt that the bride is stunning!

wow, what a pretty wedding
Had the honor of attending this one and could not say more about how perfect it was. The details were incredible--everywhere you turned there was a new little gem to discover. Never been to a wedding where more thought was put into the guests' enjoyment. It was so much fun, a true celebration from start to finish and stunning beyond compare!
Just wanted to say that I loved the use of the tandem bicycle throughout your wedding. Nice touch!
I am so in love with the details of this wedding! The flowers are perfect!
Huge fan of the mercury glass vases...they are hard to find! What a beautiful wedding with so many gorgeous details! Love the peonies, queen annes lace, stock, ranunculus, hydrangea, dusty miller, and all the other beautiful flowers that were used...stunning! That wedding cake is quite pretty too...love the look of pearl necklaces draped on the bottom tier. Congratulations to the couple!
The details are gorgeous from this wedding. I'm most interested in what Stuart Weitzman collection she found her shoes? I have searched his website and several others but have not had any luck locating where to find these shoes. Anyone provide help? I'm getting married in Oct and our colors are a deep red wine color, so these shoes would be perfect.
Thank you.
I'm an LA bride as well who's having trouble finding mercury glass and was wondering if this bride was interested in renting hers out (or selling them)?! Feel free to contact me at shadesovgray@gmail.com - thanks so much and what a STUNNING wedding!
Thanks everyone for all the sweet sweet comments. It was a day that we'll never forget :)
Karen, the shoes are called stuart weitzman pomposo. The sku on the box is . #7417533
They call the color Ruby Satin. I hope this helps!!
Logan, I'll email you as well, but unfortunately (or fortunately for me) my venue ended up buying all of my vases! I had a really hard time finding them too, hence the weekly shopping trips to every TJ MAXX, MARSHALLS AND HOME GOODS that was driving distance. I found all the small candle votive ones and some of the medium sized ones at Michaels and they were actually really helpful in ordering quantity and honoring whatever discount they had that week. So I would definetly suggest checking all those places out. It took many months to complete our collection, so don't give uo :)
Good luck!!
