Vintage garden weddings are the ultimate in romance. They’re always dreamy, filled to the tippy-top with that fresh-picked floral look and usually end with eating and dancing by moonlight.  We can’t think of one thing wrong with that list. Skye Blu Photography captured every beautiful moment of this Ocean meets garden fête and let just say that vintage lovers and dog lovers are going to go CRAZY pants over this number. All you wedding lovers will too. It’s THAT good. See it all here.

And as dreamy and elegent and all around swoon-worthy as this wedding is, just wait until you see the film by Elysium Productions. It is sending this shindig right to the top of our favorites list.

From the bride… I’ve always loved vintage garden settings, flowers, and antique keys. My favorite books growing up were The Secret Garden & Anne of Green Gables. My parents have a beautiful large antique hutch that uses those types of vintage keys. We wanted a small family wedding and a fun party with our close friends to celebrate. Dear friends of the Sims family, the Hogan’s, were so gracious to open their home for us to celebrate our wedding ceremony and party with friends. It is a beautiful home on the bayfront on the Balboa Peninsula. It could not have been more perfect and special. We had the dinner a couple blocks away at the Sims House, which is so meaningful. Scott grew up there … and was a perfect intimate setting for our families.

Of course we had to have our sweet Riley, a 2-year-old Golden Retriever, looking very handsome in his bow tie & cuffs. We did put a lot of work into the homemade projects. Very fun though! My mom, Laura, and I made the jeweled gray felt napkin holders, the place cards, the dessert to-go boxes, the coffee cups, etc. I transferred about 90 photographs into black & white in all different shapes & sizes and found silver frames to fit, some matte, some shiny, some blingy… They were of Scott growing up, me growing up, our families, and us together. Our house looked like a wedding craft store for 3 months!

Love the sweet Golden Retriever, the garden and peninsula setting, the varieties of furniture, the awesome tree where the guests dined, and the stunning florals..blushing bride protea is one of my favorite blooms and looks so pretty with the ranunculus and geranium leaves in the brides bouquet. This was my wedding:) It was the most wonderful day and so cool to see it like this! I had no idea it was blogged and a friend of mine just randomly came across it and let me know. Thank you so much for the extremely kind comments! Truly made my day!!!
Just wanted to answer some of the questions: The veil is Monique Lhuillier, from Saks Bridal. The sash is "Crystal Ball" by Erin Cole Couture, Costa Mesa, CA. And the bridesmaid dresses are Jim Hjelm #5924 in "SIlver" from The White Dress, Corona Del Mar, CA. I'm a hairdresser and my friends Laura Smith and Stacey Craven did hair and makeup, they are at Magnolia Salon in Costa Mesa.

  19. Absolutely stunning wedding details! So elegant, so beautiful.
