Encinitas Wedding by Sequins and Candy Photography

A legit seaside ceremony complete with toes in the sand followed by a backyard reception with scrumptious gourmet truck food kind of sounds like the best celebration on the planet and the crazy, blow-your-mind part is that the whole fabulous affair was thrown for less than $5000. I think there should be some kind of award for that. Sequins and Candy Photography was there to capture it all and you can see more of this insanely gorgeous couple and their budget beautiful wedding right here.

From Fawn of Sequins and CandyAdrianna and Jerome were married on Sept 16, 2011. In loving memory of her father, she had his favorite baby blue silk scarf embroidered as a heart onto the back of her wedding dress. The groom surfed before the wedding at Cardiff State Beach and got ready at the parking lot in true surfer fashion in the back of a lime green restored Dodge truck. They each wrote letters to each other and read them before the ceremony. The ceremony was a small gathering on the beach with a raked aisle of sand, stones and beach blankets with the date and bride and grooms names embroidered. The reception was held at the pro skater Tony Hawk’s home and was catered by MIHO Gastrotruck. The centerpieces were ceramic vases made by the groom, and the tables were lined with burlap and tree stumps. The groom’s sister made wood blocks and burned into the wood quotes and the couples initials. It was a fresh, organic and chic wedding. The invites were water-colored by hand, including the maps. It was all done for less than $5,000.

This is a lovely wedding and obviously on a budget however...if I had a proskater's beautiful backyard for free to use as a venue, I think I could keep my wedding under $5,000 too. ;)

This was not at Seaside State Beach in Monterey, California. Monterey is hundreds of miles away from Encinitas. This was at Seaside Reef in Cardiff by the Sea, California.

@seeyoudowntheaisle and @Kristin: I've sent an email to find out who made the dress and if it's possible to find it somewhere. Thanks for reading!

I love this "secret" beach. I had my son's 8th birthday at the same spot last weekend.

Ok friends, here are the details on the dress for @seeyoudowntheaisle and @Kristin. The bride bought the basic sheath dress off the rack at Macy's for $350 and then added the blue silk heart and the chiffon bustling herself. The dress label is Shelli Segal. I hope that helps, and thanks for reading!

It says the bride designed the savethedate cards, but where were they made. They are so simple and just what I have been looking for!

Thank you all so much for the awesome comments!!! We had an amazing time planning and getting creative every chance we could. Our incredible coordinator Desirae Leyba pulled it all together for us with ease! @jennie I made the save the dates in adobe illustrator, purchased heavy stock white paper at Paper Source and printed at FedEx Kinkos :)

I just got engaged and my Fiance and I live in Cardiff as well, we really want to get married on the sand in Cardiff but I am not sure how to make this happen. did you go through the city to get a permit? If you have any suggestions for me I would really appreciate it. We just started planning but so far the wedding on the sand seem to all be pretty pricey and linked to Hotels. Any help would be great. Thank for the inspiration, your wedding was beautiful and I loved the simplicity of it. Congratulations.

Hi Amanda - Just saw your comment sorry it took so long to respond! We inquired about getting a permit but ended up just staking out the beach in the morning and set up 15 chairs. You are able to obtain a permit through the city (encinitas, solana beach, del mar, etc.) and it is usually around $75-100. Best of luck with all of the planning!!
