I met photographer Ryan Ray out in Mexico a couple of months back while we were soaking up the genius that is Jose Villa. Ryan was actually playing model for the workshop (yep, talented AND dreamy) and I was speaking. While we were out there, Ryan told me that he’d been holding on to a really special wedding, one that he was saving for just the right blog, just the right moment. Well, I buttered him up good and he agreed to share this crazy beautiful, undeniably special wedding with us. Designed by the lovely, lovely Angel Swanson of Events of Love and Splendor, this wedding is the definition of mad love, of crazy romance, of a day bursting at the seams with joy and beauty and all things pretty. And Ryan photographed it to absolute perfection. We have more coming up in just a bit but if you’re the kind of girl that just can’t wait, the full gallery is right here. And if you missed the inspiration board, you can see it here!

From the bride… Scott and I love to go antique and thrift shopping so I think one of the most enjoyable parts of the planning process was waking up almost every other Sunday, grabbing a bagel and coffee and heading out to either the Pasadena, Long Beach, or Irvine flea markets to collect items we wanted to incorporate into the wedding. A lot of the items we used are now in our home. The bakers cabinet we used for our dessert table is now in our kitchen, the trunk we placed by the fire to hold all of the cozy blankets is now at the end of our bed, and the metal letters we used to spell out Love now hangs in our living-room, each piece reminding me of the best day of my life.
I will never forget riding off on our golden winged pegasus Steve into a double rainbow and living happily every after…..just kidding ;)
