From A & B Creative… For us, our favorite weddings are all about the couple’s personality and are serious in their love and starting their amazing lives together, but fun in their design and use of color. When I designed this inspiration shoot I knew that I wanted the inspiration to come from a New Year’s Eve party. NYE parties are all about fun, excitement and the possibilities that are just around the corner – which is just what a wedding should feel like. Confetti, golden dots on bright fabrics, streamers galore, sparklers and a vintage color palette all lend to the excitement that is your big day!
The venue is a gorgeous 1892 church that is used today as a gallery and venue for weddings and events. The building obviously has amazing character and vintage charm that we used to create a look that is influenced by both vintage and modern looks. I styled the alcoves with this same approach, highlighting the historical architecture in a modern way.
The tablescape design incorporated our vintage palette of aqua, hot pink and accents of gold. Modern dots and fringe were also a theme throughout, from the tablecloths and backdrops to the heart-shaped fringe of the bride’s bolero and beads on her necklaces. The beautiful floral arrangements from Petalos continued our modern/vintage fusion with voluminous peonies and gold painted billy buttons and modern succulents. Mini Martinelli’s are a fun detail for toasting to the new couple!
The dessert table was everything else that this shoot was: bright, sugary with glitz and glam all over it! Golden doughnuts, bright pink conchas, brightly packaged cake pops and sugary treats are just what all night partiers need to keep the party going. Vintage noise makers are available for guests to “Ring in the new couple in the New Year!” The blue vintage dress, gold ribboned balloons and the piñata I designed are all great inspiration for the reception-and letting loose. Counting down to your big day is just the same as counting down to a New Year, this shoot has all the excitement and anticipation of a wedding, which is after all, the biggest party most of us will ever throw!
