We are gearing up for the New Year with our most fabulous sparkly accessories in tow, including this yummy inspiration shoot captured by Jennifer O‘Donnell Photography. It is toting some major bling in the detail department all crafted by the masterminds behind La Fete Event Design. Seriously, even the cake balls are bedazzled and we whole heartedly approve. We are a glitter friendly bunch after all. So grab a horn blower and throw on your sparkliest heels and join us for a celebration of the New Years kind along with a big, collective Chin Chin to 2012. See it all here!

From La Fete Event DesignThis New Year’s Eve inspired wedding inspiration shoot took place in historic Downtown Vancouver, Washington, at the Red Cross Building in the Fort District. The building was perfect because visually, the space was a clean slate with white walls and wood floors, this was the perfect blank canvas for our New Year’s Eve “event.” We were so inspired by the vintage glitz and glam of years past. We pulled inspiration from a whimsical Kate Spade inspired bash, but took it up a few notches. Our design wouldn’t have been complete without a colorful pom-pom background, glitter everywhere, metallic gold and silver, and pops of pink, turquoise, grays, and whites.

The dessert buffet sat atop a vintage buffet painted white. Apothecary jars were used to hold different candies with chalk board labels that read “cheers.” We had glittery cake pops, fun parfaits in crystal glasses, and a touch of surprise was added with gorgeous textured metallic gold cakes to tie everything together. We finished off the buffet with a sign that read “Eat, Drink, and be Married,” That was purchased from Etsy from, Orangebeautful’s shop.

A vintage refinished table was the first choice for the main table. Upon a DIY glitter runner were mercury votives in various metallic shades of gold, silver, and pink, gold leaf trees were the centerpiece with pops of tissue-like carnations. We picked up pink, gold, and white dessert plates from West Elm and paired it with vintage cut crystal wine glasses, and cut crystal and gold silverware. The finishing touch were party poppers that read “cheers” placed upon the plates.

The element of surprise for this shoot was the glitzy mini bar inside of a vintage piece of luggage. Decorating this bar were pom-poms, cut crystal glasses, vintage decanters, and fun gold poof swizzle sticks. The mini bar sat on top of a vintage chair.

J.Crew was a must when it came to our Bride’s fashion. They had the perfect short sassy wedding dress. The dress was paired with an amazing gold glittered belt, and a vintage inspired statement necklace, and the most fabulous vintage inspired shoes from Seychelles.

Jennifer O’Donnell captured this shoot in such a soft beautiful way. She knows how to get the perfect detail shots, and also those real moments that tell a story about the entire day. She is a dream to work with! We’re always drooling over her beautiful work!

We chose Kandie Smith owner of KSNmakeup as our makeup artist because not only is she the best at what she does, her makeup styling is inspired by vintage glam, which was perfect for this shoot. Ashley Rauch of AshleyCheri Stylist, was inspired by the model’s vintage makeup, and styled her hair perfectly to fit the shoot, she is amazing at all things hair.

Can anyone tell me where I could get the materials to make a backdrop like this one?
Whenever I look for pom poms, all I can find are the big round ones that cheerleards use... which leads me to believe they made the poms themselves.
I really want to do this for my wedding!!

    Ashleigh C,
We hand made every one of the poms using colorful tissue paper. Hours upon hours but the detail is a must. You can find tutorials on many different ways to make them or pre-paid ones on Etsy.

Lauren~ the ring is actually white gold, and my husband had it designed by his Aunt's jeweler in Kansas city, MO. I'm not sure of the name. However, any ring that you see and love in white gold can be customized to yellow gold. The process is super easy for jewelers these days.
