Happy Halloween LBBers! Before you start your day with what I’m sure are some of the prettiest costumes, most delish treats, and spookiest parties, I just had to share something with a little Halloween-vibe. This inspiration shoot came straight from Colorado, and when La Vie le Gage (the talent behind the execution) sent it our way, I knew just when I wanted to share it with you. You see, La Vie le Gage, along with the amazing team who put this awesome shoot together – including Hays Photography and our very own LBB vendor Teacup, amongst other brilliant talent – gave us quite the lesson on how to perfect the theme wedding. A little glamor, a little fun, a little tradition, and a touch of something unique. It’s perfect. So grab your treat of choice, and enjoy this excellent, excellent inspiration. From Joyce of La Vie le Gage … This fantastic shoot was the brainchild of Paula Thomas of the Teacup, fine baked goods & confections, and her friend Sarah Hays of Hays Photography. Paula wanted La Vie le Gage Couture Wedding Planning to conceive and design the shoot right from the start.
While planning a wedding South of Denver and bit North of Colorado Springs, a love revealed itself I did not know I had for the large sweeping views of this area in Colorado. I found out I absolutely love the vast open feeling. Just the perspective gave thought to the past inhabitants whom must of felt similar emotions. I knew I wanted to capture and explicate what I felt.
One of the first questions I asked Paula was, “What styles do you love?” A quick answer was, “Fashion, hat boxes, glitz, and glamor!”
Our discussion sent me without hesitation towards a French expression of wedding fashion having the ‘Mad Hatter’ as the whimsy outlet for bringing in the love for hats.
I knew that I wanted to have a strict color palette comprising of white, black, and soft pink. Soft pink evokes romance to me and the plains of Colorado translate romance in my mind. Romance made me also think French. French and passion go together like bread and butter! .
I brought out classic French style with stripes done in black and used the strict palette to translate the boldness of the vistas while meshing styles of vintage, edgy, and romantic whimsy in this shoot. Black as a color is strong and I wanted that to represent the strength, courage, and vigor of the people who settled the West.
Staging a French inspired extravagant ornate table setting, displaying passion for hats, fashion, and combining the great vista’s of Colorado as a backdrop; Mad Hatter’s Wedding Gone West was conceived in a heartbeat!!
The quest for items to fill the tables was an adventure in research and a 101 course concerning the details on china!
I contacted notably experienced, exceptionally talented and very creative professionals to be a part of this inspiration shoot. All vendors, including the models were thrilled to exercise their artistic skills.

Lovely shoot! Who are the models?
Hi Jessica Strong! You can email Joyce of La Vie le Gage for info on the models: joyce@laviegage.com.
Wow simply gorgeous. Breath taken away.
It was such an honor to work with all of the wonderful vendors and models on this shoot. I am also honored to be featured in Style Me Pretty we all worked so hard to make this shoot look amazing. What a great way to kick off Halloween..
Incredible shoot. Such a wonderful group that put all this together. You can see all the detail thrown in and that it was all put together beautifully.
The hats are especially my favorite. The one the beautiful blonde model is wearing, the black top hat, I wish I had something like that every day. Plus the dress she has one...fits her perfectly and I simply love it. I guess you can say her entire outfit put together for that shot has to be my favorite out of all of these.
The flowers are just exquisite! Very exotic and romantic.
Plus I would die to be able to have a tea set like that. I believe I would have a tea party every day.
I just am loving all the feedback from everyone!
I am so glad the flowers are being noticed from Courtney Cochetas of www.flowersforeverdesign.com
Discussing floral with Courtney was a designer's dream! Using thistles for edge was great! Peonies for romance a must! Yarrow in soft pink in vintage vessels, fabulous! Lilies for a classic modern feel and more romance with garden roses throughout! Wow, was all I could say over and over!
'Mad Hatter' hat props configured out of moss, really entwined the theme throughout the shoot. Courtney contrived three exceptional bridal bouquets! Each bouquet having it's own mood, telling the story!
Fabulous!
I approached Kitty Mae Millinery (www.kittymaemillinery.com) to provide the perfect hats for a 'Hat Inspired' shoot! Owner, Susan Dillon, was unequivocally up for the challenge of creating custom hat conceptions that contributed greatly to the success of the shoot. Kitty Mae Millinery transmitted the fun of the fun of a tea party reception at the 'Mad Hatter's Wedding'.
Jessica Strong,
Please contact me for the models information in this shoot. Perfect to work with!!

Karrie,
Thanks so much!!
One of my favorite shoots I've seen in a long time. Incredible. The dresses are stunning. Especially the dramatic dress on the blonde. She is gorgeous. She really knows how to (how do they say it?) "Work it?!"
The model with red hair (sorry, I don't know their names. Just know how to explain it as blonde and red) is beautiful as well. Beautiful. I don't know how else to explain it. Just beautiful
This looks just how I imaged wonderland! looks like a fantasy beautiful!
What a creative way to combine romance and a unique theme! Beautiful!
When I viewed this shoot, I was transported instantly to the magical world of Alice in Wonderland...or should I say Alice in Colorado? :) Joyce, you and your team did an amazing job and I would hire you out in a heartbeat for any special event. Your work is truly inspiring.
