Just when you thought we were finished, we're back up and running with one more knock-your-socks-off wedding feature because well, we just weren't ready to bid adieu to this full day of weddings until you all lay your eyes on this little Pasadena gem. It's a beautiful interpretation of DIY as seen through the lens of Blaine Photography. And the flowers by The Little Branch add a whole other layer of organic elegance, making this wedding one not to be missed. See the full fête here.
From Blaine Photography... Chi-Ling & Than first met at Buster’s coffee shop in South Pasadena. Than watched her walking up the stairs, and one thing he wanted for his wedding day was to have a picture of her in the same spot at Buster’s, walking up the stairs in her wedding dress. On their first date, they stayed until Buster’s closed, and walked down the street to the South Pasadena library where they spent a few hours on a park bench talking late into the night. After Than proposed, they decided to get married at that very spot at the South Pasadena Library.
Chi-Ling & Than had a charming little Thursday afternoon wedding just the way they wanted it, filled with personal DIY details to tie the event together. Hundreds of vibrant, hand-crafted poppies made by Chi-Ling’s girlfriends lined the aisle. Each poppy was put together with crepe paper and floral tape, boxed, and then wrapped in burlap. Chi-Ling’s friend played piano for the ceremony, and Than’s father officiated. After they were married at the library where they ended their first date, they took portraits at the stairs at Buster’s coffee shop where they first met. Sweet, right?
Guests then strolled a block to Mike & Anne’s Restaurant in South Pasadena for a sweet little reception at the outdoor restaurant. The evening was lit by simple twinkle lights wrapped around olive trees around the patio. The long tables were dressed beautifully with linen table cloths and lined with mason jars filled with organic flowers by The Little Branch. Guests were treated to chocolate bars with little love notes inside wrapped in craft paper and tied with baker’s twine. The chocolate bars wrapped in baker’s twine tied the event together nicely. Chi-Ling’s invitations were hand made by her and printed on thick cotton paper. She designed two beautiful versions for both sides of the family. The charming little quote, “You are nothing that I ever expected and everything I ever dreamed.” Was included in both invitations, as well as inside the thank-you chocolate bars. It’s a perfectly fitting quote for this sweet couple.
