This charming Sydney wedding by Milk and Honey Photography is all about romance.  The blush bridesmaids dresses against the gray sky are enough to make my heart go pitter patter but when you add in lush arrangements of roses and sweet-as-can-be details I really start gushing.  It's a stunning, fairytale of a day and you can see it all in the full gallery!

From the bride...We had our ceremony at St Michael’s Anglican Church in Vaucluse as it is a beautiful sandstone church overlooking Sydney Harbour and my parents were married there 35 years before. We chose Centennial Parklands Dining, as we both have lovely memories of time spent in Centennial Park and it also made sense to have our wedding reception in the park where we met.

Ian and I are fortunate to have creative family members who were very happy to get involved in making our day very special with lots of DIY details. We wanted our wedding to be a wonderful expression of family. By having many things hand made by family members there was a wonderful sense of love and our families coming together to wish us well. My mum did the flowers for the church and reception venue, we wanted the flowers to look like they had been picked from a garden. Ian’s mum made the flower girl and pageboy’s outfits. She also made and embroidered my silk wedding purse and purses for the bridesmaids. Ian’s sister embroidered handkerchiefs with our initials.

Ian’s mum worked with Ian’s sister to make our wedding cake. Ian’s sister did a spectacular job of icing the cake. The cake was beautiful, delicious and made with love. Ian wore his grandfather’s cufflinks and I had a piece of my mother’s wedding dress sewn into mine. We had a Greek bouzouki player play at the wedding reception, which was a nod to my father’s Greek heritage. It was a wonderful to see all the guests get up and dance together.

My favourite memory of the day is when Ian took my hand and led me out to a spot where we looked back together on our wedding reception. We could see all our friends and family dancing and having a good time. That was such a wonderful feeling, we couldn’t have asked for a better day.
