Max Wanger had us the moment he said hello. And showed us how ridiculously awesome he is with the playful but so-freaking-gorgeous engagement sesh he did with Joanna Goddard from A Cup of Joe. And from that moment on, there was no turning back. Our obsession with Max went full throttle ahead, with each of his weddings being even more beautiful, even more fun than the next. Well, this wedding just might have to take the cake. It’s Max’s art inspired photos sitting pretty next to the most beautiful, classic fete a girl could ever want (courtesy of the equally fab Beth Helmstetter) and the result…magic. Oh and don’t even get me started on those baby’s breath centerpieces. Click here to make it last just a little longer.

From the Bride…With Patrick and I both growing up and meeting in California, we knew that there was nowhere else we wanted to tie the knot. Deciding on the location was a no brainer…The Bacara truly embodies California culture: from the food and wine selections to the Spanish style architecture and its location on the Santa Barbara coast. It was stunning, and it was perfect! With the help of Beth Helmstetter Events, we were able to make all of our most indulgent dreams become a reality!
In terms of décor we wanted very neutral, earthy tones that would complement the colors of the Bacara. I also wanted a lot of textures in our wedding day – everything from my dress, to the linens, the flowers, to the cake – these all had feminine textural elements in clean, neutral colors that all tied in together.
Initially, we had planned to have an outdoor ceremony, but on the morning of our wedding we woke up to heavy mist along the coast. Of course, I started to panic….but our amazing team had a backup plan that turned out even more gorgeous than what we had originally wanted. Everything turned out for the best….the photos took on an amazing, dreamy quality to them, and until today I look back and thank my lucky stars that it drizzled!
Looking back, I would not have changed a single thing. I am so grateful that we were able to have all our friends and family together from all over the world to celebrate with us! Let’s do it again!

Hi! Thank you for the kind words everyone!
Ashley - my beaded belt was designed by myself and made at Vera Wang!
Kate - we got married early April~ so while it wasn't winter...it was still cold! :)
Beautiful! Really stunning!
i love the soft colors. great classic wedding, just as it should be!
This photographer is brilliant! It's like they merely happened upon this perfectly pristine wedding and were fortunate enough to steal a few quick snaps of the intimate ceremony.
Jody your wedding is amazing! I'm a groom having difficulty finding tuxes for my guys. Do you have any pictures of the groomsmen and happen to know what style tuxedo they rented? Everything I've found is so boxy with a horrible fit. Thanks!
Wow! Breathtaking! And those earrings... LOVE! could you please, please tell me where they are from?
Beautiful wedding!!!
i never knew i could be so in love with napkins & place settings... just beautiful!!
Jody, so beautiful!!!! Beth and her team did an AMAZING job. love all of max's photos!!!!! insanely gorgeous and chic!! xx
Love all of the Baby's Breath! Very regal wedding. The colors used are gorgeous and I love the texture that the little succulents provide among the regal and romantic roses. Great combo!!
The French Bouquet: European-Inspired Floral Design
Jody- you looked absolutely gorgeous! I love everything about your wedding...down to your pretty earrings. Can I ask where you bought the earrings? Just stunning! Thanks xo
Wow, such stunning choice of colours. The flowers (actually I'm not sure they were? white moss?) made it look like a dream. The accessories and the hair was perfect! I really love all the colours.
That dress though, WOW! Absolute stunner! Beautiful, classic and elegant. I really love empire line styles!
Beautiful, congrats to Jody!xx
GORGEOUS!!! where can i find that earring? STUNNING!
I would also like to know about the earrings!!
BEAUTIFUL! So breathtaking, truly - congrats to the couple - what a perfect day with such beautiful memories to keep, All the best! (I too would love to know about the earrings!)
Hi Everyone!
I loved my earrings too! I think finding shoes and jewelry were the two hardest things, so when i finally found these earrings from Elizabeth Cole, I did a little dance! :)
and tuxhelp - we went to a tuxedo place called Elite Tuxedo to rent the groomsmen tuxedos - and we just went with a Black, 1-Button, Single Breasted Peak Lapel, and they did pin it for each guy so that might have helped in the boxy department...so sorry I can't be of more help!
Jody -- I have to know where you found the napkin/menu rings...I'm so in love!
Hi Jessica!
The napkin rings are actually pieces of decorative fabric ribbon that we used as napkin rings!!!
Wow! This wedding is so pretty! Jody, would you mind letting me know where you got the ring pillow? Also, congrats!
beautiful tasteful use of baby's breath. gorgeous job
Dreamy wedding and wedding photography. These images feel breathless, in a good way. And speaking of breath, Baby's Breath never looked so good! Wow!
Hi Alexis!
we custom designed and made out own ring pillow!
And thank you!
Hi Jody! Your wedding was absolutely stunning, congratulations! I love it all, but especially the dress. Would you mind sharing the designer and style? Thanks!
Jody, I just want to echo how GORGEOUS your wedding was! I have a quick question: I have been obsessed with the shade of blue that was used as a backdrop in the photos with your jewelry, the invitations, etc. Would you mind letting me know what that wonderful backdrop is? Thank you!
Hi Ladies!
@GabbyChic - Thank you so much for the kind words!! my dress was made by Vera Wang - it was the Erica gown but I had changed the bodice of the original gown slightly to suit my body a little better!
@Lisa - Thank you so much again for the compliments!! The blue in the backdrop was some of the sheets that were in my bridal suite at the Bacara...I'm sorry I can't give you more details on that!!
OMG love everything about this wedding!!
I am curious where did you purchase/rent the arbor from? Absolutly beautiful!
