Many a wedding captures my heart but the ol’ ticker beats triple time for whimsical affairs full of personality and today Aharon Hill Photography is delivering the goods. A perfectly styled library played backdrop followed by a family bbq dinner complete with custom bibs. Oh and the busts on the mantel? Even they got a fabulous makeover. From Aharon Hill Photography…Instead of focusing on an inflated guest list, Lauren decide that her wedding would be tiny, but packed with style.  So they invited only family and a few friends… and focused on many amazing DIY details.  The theme was, “imagine,” and encompassed lots of dreamy elements.

The wedding backdrop was Lauren’s parents’ library, where Lauren and her mother spent many hours re-covering every single book in white paper, and writing the title and author on the spine.  Lauren accessorized the library shelves with metallics, whites and varying shades of blue.  In each chair there was a “pop out streamer,” which each guest popped when Lauren and Matt exited the library for the first time as a married couple (oooh yeah, and  Lauren’s cognac diamond was cruelty-free, and the bands were made from recycled gold!!).

After the wedding, Lauren and Matt treated their guests to a sit down dinner, decorated with DIY bunting, carnival-like napkin-rings, custom-crafted “Lauren and Matt” bibs (bar-b-que was served), wedding beer (specially brewed by Matt!!), silver candelabras, and white busts wearing one-of-a-kind party hats!  After dinner, the wedding party had lots of fun sipping on made-to-order drinks, playing with fake mustaches, and dancing to Lady Gaga (Lauren’s fave!).

The J’Adore banner that decorated the cake table, also doubled as a fun photo prop at the end of the night… just before the guests collected their homemade fruit pie party favors, and saw Lauren and Matt off sparkler-style!
