I adore this bohemian chic inspiration shoot by Brienne Michelle Photography on so many levels. Of course, the wild colors, eclectic mix of vintage and organic pieces and dreamy desert setting that just scream Southern California make my heart go all kinds of pitter patter but my favorite part might be what inspired this beautiful shoot – the gorgeous jewelry by The Nakate Project, a non-profit organization that helps create sustainable businesses for the women of Eastern Uganda. So not only is this entire inspiration shoot beyond beautiful it is helping to support a great cause too! Get your hippie chic on in the full gallery and make sure to stop by the California blog to see even more awesome inspiration from the golden state!

From Brienne Michelle Photography… This inspired wedding is so much more than a beautiful boho chic styled wedding with gorgeous details. This is what a wedding could look like if a bride wanted to incorporate a piece of Africa right into their big day. You see, when Shanley Knox of The Nakate Project first approached me, I was not only struck by the beauty of the pieces, but by the Project itself. Nakate - who provided all of the jewelry, beads and those incredible feather earrings worn not only by the models, but peppered throughout the details and florals - is a nonprofit organization selling hand-made Ugandan jewelry to help create sustainable businesses for the women of Eastern Uganda.
Inspired by the colors and vibrancy of the jewelry, I decided to go with a natural, organic, vibrant take on a styled wedding. Petalicious provided the amazing floral details, collection of pocket watches, and even the furry friend who stole our hearts, Frankie (the French Bulldog). Emilee Sutherland of Tasteful Tatters created and provided all of the furniture pieces (including the pallet table and pallet couch), the burlap bow tie worn by Frankie, and styled the entire shoot. I am incredibly proud of the collaborative work we created and can’t wait to see where brides will take their piece of Africa in the future!

The thing I dislike about inspiration shoots is that I can never picture them as real weddings - the ideas are most often things I couldn't use in a real wedding, except for maybe the table design and flowers... maybe. I wish I could gather a good amount of inspiration from them like the titles suggest, but I just can't! That is the only negative I will ever write about this blog!
I love the mix of colors in this palette. So vibrant!
Where can I find the stick "I love you" that is featured in the last picture?
The stick "I love you" featured here was created by The Pomegranate Basket (who made all the paper products for this shoot). Their website is www.thepombasket.com and they are truly amazing!
@mkelly711 You can find those from The Pomegranate Basket, the last vendor mentioned in the credits. They do excellent custom work, you should check them out!!
@Jenny... "never" is the problem with weddings. You can do anything, aaaanything for your own wedding. I'd never been to a wedding before my own, so I styled mine based on inspiration shoots and my own brain. There are no rules. There's no reason whatsoever all of the things in this post couldn't be coordinated into the day. They do tend to reflect more of an intimate, small wedding vibe, but that's part of the magical look of them, maybe. maybe. Also, having shot inspiration shoots before... they're usually put together like a wedding and "acted out" as well, including a party. Totally works, I promise. Let them inspire you. :)
This is so original, I love it!
In love with the colors and the tableware!
Where did you get the dress?
Rosaleen - the dress if from Forever 21!
Really?! wow, cool!
LOVE the vibrant color mixed with the softer palette on the men. The flowers are gorg!
oh I love this!! I was in Uganda last summer so this is extra special for me! those colors are stunning!
love the dress. Can anyone put a link up to the dress at forever 21? I can't find on their site :-(
The colors, the plates, the feathers, the table made from a pallet... I just love it all.
Kalie - not sure if they still have it. The dress was purchased back in the end of July just before the shoot. :(
Welcome to Cascade Country Manor.
Once a royal homestead, situated on twenty three picturesque hectares amongst olive orchards and vineyards, Cascade Country Manor is an idyllic and luxurious private retreat.
@Jenny - As someone who styles shoots (like this one!) as well as weddings - it is totally do-able to gain inspiration from shoots and translate them into a real wedding. The key there, is to "draw" from the shoot and then "translate" to make it your own. I had such an amazing time on this shoot and supporting Nakate. This shoot definitely stretched me more than any others - like how do I make a table and a love seat from wood palettes?! I'm so beyond blessed to have it grace these pages which I respect so so much!
I love the menu card! Where did you find that?
@kalie I've been looking but I think its discontinued, maybe the customer service department can provide you with more informationhttp://www.forever21.com/customerservice/customerservice.asp?content=contact_comments " rel="nofollow"> Forever 21
@Angela the menu and all the paper goods are fromhttp://www.thepombasket.com/ " rel="nofollow"> The Pomegranate Basket , it makes such a great statement!
I don't intent to ever marry or have a wedding but I'll be sure to keep these shots in mind for any other sumemr get together I might have. The whole thing is really beautiful~

My comment was *not* meant to be mean-spirited, or to put down the quality of the work that was done. It IS beautiful, and very VERY well done. I just have trouble with it! No big deal. I LOVE this blog and follow it regularly. Thanks to everyone that makes it happen!
