Malibu Wedding by Amber Events + Picotte Weddings

I am a sucker for pink. Anything pink. Pink walls, pink pillows, pink dresses, the works. So when it comes to pink weddings, well…pitter patter central. Add to that a jaw dropping collection of reds and oranges, aquas, greens and yellows. And the most cry-worthy peonies you’ve ever seen in your life. Then layer it with handmade details sitting pretty next to uber-elegant design and well, you have SMP perfection. This wedding that the FAB (and I mean more fab than the word fab could ever convey) Amber of Amber Events crafted is complete bliss and the photographs and film that Suthi Picotte sent our way tell the beautiful story to utter perfection. From Amber EventsCali and Mike contacted me right after they booked the magical Rancho del Cielo for their destination wedding. We clicked instantaneously and began planning.  After moving back to the East Coast, Cali and Mike knew there was no better place for an outdoor wedding than Malibu.  They came out for one intense planning weekend in which we were able to knock out some of the large things like booking the caterer, choosing the photographer, and choosing the florist, but everything else was done via email and phone–even the floral prototype meeting!  Their photographer, Suthi Picotte, loves to travel and was happy to shoot their engagement session in Hoboken NJ!

Cali and I came up with a loose French garden feel for the design using butter yellows, corals, oranges and teals and then she let me go crazy with the decor. I found a pretty yellow calico print and that one yard of material went a long way: I used it for the bow on the card birdcage, for the embroidered table numbers, and as matting for the seating assignment photo frames. All of the reception tables were decorated with  doilies sourced from flea markets.

Cali and Mike wanted an intimate wedding that reflected them and brought together their friends and family. Cali’s sister designed and printed the invitations, a friend of theirs officiated the ceremony, and at one point during the reception, all of the guests serenaded Cali’s father for his birthday. The guests enjoyed a magical evening on a mountaintop in Malibu as they laughed, cried, danced, dined, and toasted to the newlyweds.

WOOT! "Simply Caked" cupcake liners! Cuteness!!!
I love how it is saturated with pink, but the other colors are done so well that it's very balanced and doesn't give the effect of too much pink at all.
Pink weddings usually don't entrance me so! Love it!

Wow, this is so beautiful and so inspiring. My dress is almost exactly like this one and so is my color palette. And I am dying to have a few poppies, but they just aren't possible where I am. I can only hope I will pull off something this beautiful. Well done!!!

What kind of shoes are the bridesmaids wearing? The nude wedges?

Really beautiful. I love outdoor weddings! As I live in the UK we went to Italy just to specifically get married outside- guaranteed sunshine, much like in Malibu I would imagine!

I love the hanging bottles with flowers in, very sweet.

Beautiful bright colors and details. I love the blue glass mason jars. A great way to incorporate even more color! Fabulous, especially outdoors!

See, I never thought I was a sucker for bit or even liked the colour. But now I realize, I do! I love it! The colours chosen were absolutely gorgeous! And that dress! One of the best I've seen yet. Absolutely gorgeous!

Gorgeous Wedding! In the pic where the bridesmaids are helping the bride with her shoes, does anyone know who makes the shoes the bridesmaid on the right is wearing? (ankle strap tan wedge)

Thank you, Style Me Pretty, for featuring Cali & Mike's wedding! It was magical!

@Jesse, those were real flowers in Cali's hair. They're called Ranunculus.

I'm waiting on answers re the bridesmaid questions!
