Ancaster Mill Wedding by Lori Studios

This Ontario wedding puts the ga-ga back in garden party!  It doesn’t get much more charming than creamy and buttery peonies, vintage milk glass vases and sweet, feminine details.  Of course, we love hearing that so many of the fabulous bits and pieces came straight from the crafty hands of the bride and groom.  With breathtaking photography by Lori Studios the result is complete and utter romantic elegance. See it all in the full gallery!

From the Bride…When I fractured my foot 5 weeks before the wedding, I wasn’t sure if everything would come together or if I would even be able to walk down the aisle without my crutches. The day of the wedding came and I was happy to be in a walking cast and to have the help of good friends, our family, and amazing vendors to pull everything together.

Evan and I both grew up in the country (Caledon, Ontario) and wanted a rustic and historic feel for our venue. When we came across the Ancaster Mill it was a perfect fit. Since the venue is an old flour mill, the theme quickly became flour/flowers. We searched for vintage flour sieves, canisters, and vessels on Etsy and in antique markets. Our incredible florist, Mirella from Rainflower Company did phenomenal job of filling and arranging each vessel perfectly at the venue.

It was really important for both of us to keep the wedding personalized and intimate, so we had 60 of our closest family members and friends in attendance. Because of this, we were able to provide custom-made touches like hand-painted bookmarks as escort cards and personalized thank you notes that we did on an old typewriter.

We absolutely loved our photographer Lori of Lori Studios; she was so easy to work with and captured the day with a timeless feel. Our DJ, Justin was also a wonderful addition to the day, and had everyone on the floor at the end of the night to Arcade Fire’s Rebellion/Lies. The overall feel of the room was really relaxed and romantic, and we only wish there was more time to take it all in.

If the bride or groom see this comment - do you still have any of the white pitchers you used as centrepieces? I live in the GTA and am looking to purchase white pitchers for our centrepieces.
    Thanks! Em
