Ok, ok – I know it’s Wedding Wednesday and on this lovely day we typically just show fabulous snap shots of each wedding so we can fill your google reader with pretty and let you get lost in the full galleries of each affair. Well, I sort of broke the rules. I couldn’t stop building boards for this gorgeous, flower-filled fête by Maine Seasons Events. I.just.couldn’t.stop. So my SMP board builder profile is full of pretty boards because this gorgeous wedding is jam packed with inspiration. Wanna see what I mean? From Maine Seasons Events…Erin and Sam’s Spring Maine wedding was hosted at the Maine Audubon Society at Gilsland Farm. The ceremony was held in the orchard, under blooming apple trees, in front of a blooming field of wild narcissus. The acoustic guitar ceremony music was provided by the bride’s brother. Maine Seasons Events’ design was inspired by a color palette of navy blue, peach, orange, and oatmeal, with accents of blue transfer ware and gold. The design included custom fabric table runners, hand cut cork place card holders, collected vintage blue transfer ware, vintage typewriter key thumb tacks, and vintage gold frames. To echo a French countryside feel, natural wood farm tables from Rentals Unlimited were mixed with glamorous gold Chiavari chairs for guest dining under a sail cloth tent provided by One Stop Party Shoppe.
With a special interest in food the bride and groom chose a scrumptious menu provided by Black Tie Company, inspired by seasonally fresh selections. Custom letterpress stationery in the color palette was created by Gus and Ruby Letterpress with design involvement from the bride. The groom’s mother made homemade strawberry jam for favors, that were displayed in muslin pouches which were hand stamped by the bride. When the forecast called for rain the bride’s father did an emergency procurement of white umbrellas on his way to Maine, just in case.
Flora Fauna created luscious floral arrangements including, peonies, roses, tulips, sweet peas, orchids, freesia, dahlias and stock. The bouquets were hand tied with vintage ribbon and trim, and the flower girl fairy wands were created with a giant peony, tulle and satin ribbon. Being avid wine lovers the couple wanted to incorporate wine corks that they had been saving and Flora Fauna created cocktail table centerpieces incorporating wine corks and candles.
