San Ysidro Ranch Wedding by Jose Villa Photography

July 25th. 2011 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 26 comments

The first time I laid eyes on this field of lavender was when we featured this beloved SMP wedding that Jose Villa and Lisa Vorce did. Aside from the fact that the wedding was CRAZY gorgeous and the bride + groom were basically supermodels, it was those jaw droppingly gorgeous backdrops that made a permanent mark on my wedding obsessed brain. And here it is again. This time adorned with an equally lovely bride and groom, a wedding day design by Events of Love and Splendor that will send your wedding hearts a flutter and photography by the now famous for being so freaking awesome Jose Villa. Who I tend to gush about a little too much on SMP and I’m quite sure must be frightened of me by now. Anyhoo. This next one is pure wedding bliss. Click here to see the entire gallery of images!

In the mood for an encore!?? Great, so are we. Now, for your viewing pleasure, the ridiculously gorgeous film by Lola Video,

Super 8mm film ~ San Ysidro Ranch ~ Montecito, CA ~ Ingrid & Howard from lolavideo.net on Vimeo.

From Events of Love and SplendorIngrid and Howard’s wedding can be summed up best in one word: lovely.  Their desire for an intimate celebration that was romantic, vintage and inspired by nature came to life at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California.  They embraced a soft and ladylike palette of sherbet colors (including peach, blush and pale yellows) accented by a dusty aqua.   Their heartfelt ceremony on the garden lawn was followed by a cocktail reception featuring raspberry mojitos and peach bellinis.  Inside San Ysidro Ranch’s Colman Cottage, they gathered with just over 40 guests for a cozy dinner party.  The sounds of classical Spanish guitar played in the background as guests dined and laughed together.  As the night wound down, guests were treated to a dessert buffet and a gourmet popcorn station featuring fanciful toppings — everything from chili powder to dried seaweed flakes.  The atmosphere facilitated warm conversations that lingered into the mild summer evening, as guests lingered on the starlit patio.

Are you KIDDING me!? It is too good. I remember that lavender field wedding you are referring to without even looking (still one of my favorites ever!) and this wedding is just as beautiful. Love the colors and florals, the vintage details, and of course, the lavender! So pretty. Congrats to the obviously happy couple :)

These pictures are exemplary and honestly set the bar for what wedding pictures should be. For anyone planning a wedding, remember that pictures last forever! The most rookie mistake is hiring a poor photographer for the most important day of your life.

Thanks everyone for your sweet comments! We were so lucky to be able to work with amazing vendors.

The invitations were designed by Hello! Lucky as Sabrina has mentioned above.

The bridesmaids dresses were from J Crew.

My veil was custom made by Candi Merle. You can contact her by calling (714) 986-9944.

The card holder was purchased at Pottery Barn.

My sash was the original sash that came with Monique Lhuillier's Monet dress.

My engagement ring was custom designed by my sister-in-law who is a jewelry designer. You can contact her at hi.annko@gmail.com

I hope that answers everyone's questions.
