As if I wasn’t craving fresh, iced-cold lemonade enough with this ridiculously hot heat wave, in comes this insanely gorgeous tea party inspired photo shoot from our faves at DESIGN2DECOR and Visions of Platinum & Garnet that has officially put my cravings into overdrive with its lusciously lemon yellow and cool white palette. From Visions of Platinum & Garnet…This inspirational shoot was created as an extension of the classic afternoon tea experience.  With all the regal focus in recent months for the Royal Wedding, we began to dream of a beautiful engagement party in the elegant garden of a country manor.  With our thoughts to incorporating elements of the past and present, our photo shoot began to come to life.  The final result was fitting for a young Duchess with all its fine tea elements amidst a sunny yellow palette. Krista (photographer), Paras (design + décor) and I (Lisa Allain – producer) worked tirelessly to bring this project to life, with many late nights creating all our lovely custom elements.  When we collaborate, the ideas flow with excitement and ease.  We are truly passionate about the creative process and we feel that this inspirational shoot exemplifies our best talents.

The photo shoot took place at Lakewinds Country Manor in Niagara on the Lake, Ontario.  Lakewinds is an exceptionally beautiful property and our table was set in an elegant and wonderful lattice covered courtyard and English garden.  It was the perfect ambiance.The fine details of this inspirational look were sourced meticulously.  I searched widely to find the perfect fabrics to create custom, hand sewn feather quill napkins, yellow polka dot fabric chair backs and a table runner in an elegant modern swirl, under Paras’ masterful eye, guidance and direction.  Tea-themed items combined by the team included a vintage well-traveled antique tea chest, vintage and worn metal tea cans, stylishly designed tea containers, decorative teapots, and teacup-shaped baking cups.  Other details included iced tea and lemonade generously displayed in beautiful dispensers on top of inverted galvanized containers while individual lemonades were presented in vintage pop-top bottles, “Drink Me” tags attached with the intention to make guests smile.  Truly beautiful invitations with a tea motif combined with personalized menus and thank you notes added the perfect customized touch created by Krista.  Stationery tags hung softly on grosgrain ribbons from the displays of each item to introduce them. Garden bistro tables in combination with wooden chairs and a gardener’s bench located by Paras made the perfect casual seating and whimsical effect.

Paras’ breathtaking florals presented crisp white peonies and yellow craspedia happily sitting in mason jars down the length of the table.  This was a touch of perfection, and complemented a rich display of glassware and display pieces to showcase the artful and delicious treats as well as all the custom stationary and linens.Sarah, our extraordinary chef created the most delicious signature cake in cupcake tea cups, lemon cookies, filigree cake pops, lemon shortbread, French macaroons, coconut cakes and mouse served in crystal glasses.  Our sweet table was both elegant and fun.  Popcorn mini treats were placed at each setting and lemon drops awaited as take away favors. Inspiration for a dreamy, bright, fun and very stylish afternoon was the final result, and without further ado, we respectfully and proudly present our Tea Party Splendor to you.

    I love these gorgeous shots! It is very evident that this shower was planned down to the tiniest detail. The talented photographer, captured the amibience of this special day with her insightful pictures! I wish I had been invited and yet, I feel I was by your talented eyes for the the overall details . I cannot even imagine the hours invested in the search for just the right teapot, glass or jug -- but, even better the ABSOLUTE DELIGHT when it was found!
