From Jenna TrapassoThis a beautiful, handmade wedding that took place on Lake Wylie in North Carolina. Maggie and Phillip are high school sweethearts and currently live in Washington DC but returned their home city for their sweet wedding. Maggie’s family is from Taiwan and I loved how the couple chose to incorporate so much wonderful cultural flare. Phillip’s family is from North Carolina so the reception was overflowing with an entire menu of pork BBQ and fixins’ in addition to a spread of Asian vegetarian dishes. There were many “green” elements incorporated throughout the reception and in the invitations as well. The wedding also had a bit of vintage flare…from antique chairs and old fashioned formal group photos to Maggie’s beautiful bird cage veil. The entire day was incredibly relaxed and fun and everyone attributed that to Maggie and Phillip’s long-time relationship. They are so comfortable and happy together and the pictures tell that story!

Many thanks to the masterminds behind Style Me Pretty for featuring Maggie and Phillip's Wedding! Such an honor! 7. Heather says:

Love the wedding dress! I should, I got the same one for my wedding in September! So nice to see it on a real person instead of the J.Crew model.

  8. Maggie says:

Hi Everyone, thanks for the nice comments! I'm the bride. :) @Angela, you can find the plates here: http://www.ecopalmware.com/products/Eco-Friendly-Dinner-Plate.html . @Kayla, I did the invites myself and just had copies made on recycled card stock and cut in-store at an office supply store - super cheap!

  9. I love your flowers so much! So simple but so elegant!! Great job!

  10. Rachel Tatem says:

Silly as it may be I have only recently come across Bocce Ball and it is amazing. I think it is great that they had it at their wedding!

  11. OMG!! I was scrolling through and saw LAKE WYLIE on that invite and freaked out! I grew up 15minutes from there. I spent the better half of my childhood and teen years hanging out on that lake!! I <3 Charlotte! Great post :)

  13. Gerard says:

    this is beautiful...

  14. Melissa says:

What color are the bridesmaid dresses? Styles?

  15. Rachel says:

Love love love those invitations. I'm incorporating Dogwoods into my April wedding, so I think your invites are amazing. I also live in the DC area, so if the bride is feeling artistic, I would love to steal your idea!

  16. Jenna H says:

I love the wedding and I love the grooms tie! We are having yellow and grey as our colors - can you tell me where you bought the ties!?

  17. Maggie says:

@Melissa - sorry to just get back to you - the dresses are in the color "aluminum" which I think is now discontinued at J. Crew, but you could check with them - their bridal team is super helpful, and I saw that the top wedding featured on Style Me Pretty used the same dress styles and color, so perhaps you can still get them!

@Rachel - congrats on your engagement! I'd be happy and honored to help you with your invitation if you are still working on that! I am in the DC area, so it would be easy. Just let me know how to get in touch!

@Jenna H - my husband picked the tie himself and I think it's by Penguin from last season - believe he got it at Nordstrom Rack? Good luck!
