Backyard Virginia Wedding by Katelyn James Photography

Get ready to let out a long, synchronized “AW” over this adorable backyard wedding by Katelyn James Photography.  There are so many super sweet details all over the rustic chic celebration.  Handmade, painted signs, eco-friendly planted centerpieces and a cookie bar.  A cookie bar!  I’m pretty sure the cookie bar should be mandatory at every wedding.  Check out all the DIY goodness in the full gallery!

From Katelyn James Photography…Here are a couple of unique items from Nikki and Alex’s wedding. All plants used for centerpieces were potted plants and were reused after the wedding, nothing went to waste!

Their cookie bar was a huge hit! Nikki and Alex gathered the best cookie recipes from family members and created “recipe booklets” for their guests to take home. The cookie bar was lined with rustic jars full of Grandma’s Brownies, Aunt’s ginger snaps, Mom’s sugar cookies, etc.  It was such a great personal touch!

A friend made handmade wood-burned signs for the cake topper and also created “Mrs. and Mr.” signs for the Bride and Groom’s seats. Nikki’s bouquet had two charms with pictures of her grandparents inside who passed away before the wedding.

   I love this wedding! Its simple and beautiful and fun and what a cute couple!. I love the programs. Does anyone know if the programs were made from the same people as the invites? I love them!!

   hi lula! thanks for your sweet words - the programs were actually done by a local print shop here in richmond, va (http://uptowncolor.com/ ). i work with them often for my job, so i worked with my usual colleague and came up with the design/font and then my mom did the stamps on each one! hope this helps. :)

   I'm so happy to see that Louisa Flower Shop did this wedding! Louisa is my hometown, and I've always admired their work! Was this private residence in the county of Louisa or a neighboring one? Just wondering! Love the entire look/feel of it all! :)
