We are welcoming Tuesday morning with a sea of pretty captured to sheer perfection by Desi Baytan Photography plus gorgeous design and styling by Platinum Lining Events. If this isn’t a great start to the day then I don’t know what is. And just when I thought the florals couldn’t possibly get any better, another gorgeous arrangement or lovely little boutonniere would pop into view on the screen. You are seriously in for some floral eye candy courtesy of Lauryl Lane. So hunker down and spend a little time enjoying the full wedding gallery. Your eyeballs will thank you.

From Desi Baytan Photography…Laura and David, two attorneys living in New York came to California to wed. Their venue was at the Highland Springs Resort, a natural wonder in Cherry Valley. Graced with lavender fields and olive groves and an ancient oak tree that has survived for 1100 years, it is one of the quintessential outdoor rustic and romantic wedding locations east of Los Angeles.
At this time of the season, lavender flowers were beginning to bloom. The olive grove provided an enchanting space for portraits and a cocktail area as well. The palette of soft tans, mist green, light lavender complemented perfectly to Laura’s theme. Kudos to LaDawn Williams from Platinum Lining Events, who coordinated this amazing wedding to make sure it went according to plan. She had kept a long distance connection with Laura and David to design this magical day. And to the incomparable Lauryl Lane, who designed the breathtaking botanical inspirations including a Chuppah made of birch and adorned with florals and moss. The reception tablescapes were not only accompanied with flowers but with vintage bird cages. A surprising touch. And Laura, the bride, designed all of the table numbers and place cards out of fabric and cardstock. Plus, the ingenious use of wood, moss, and other organic touches brought a natural element to the entire floral design.

Those flowers are to die for!! Love them!!
What a beautiful wedding... I love the clean, fresh look to it...
Love this beautiful wedding...her dress is just amazing! Designer?
I absolutely love it! Her dress is amazing and the pictures are stunning.
Wow, everything about this wedding is perfection. Amazing job!
I'm PRETTY sure the dress is Anne Barge, a strapless one (http://www.annebarge.com/blog/?p=1090 ) modified to have the little straps added. My friend wore the same one, and it was gorgeous.
A bear hug thank you to the editors at Style Me Pretty for featuring Laura and David's wedding. And thank you all for your comments! We are very excited for this post! Everything worked out perfect for Laura and David's big day. They looked gorgeous, the weather was nice, and the floral...just amazing!
WOW!! So proud to have been a part of this AMAZING wedding!! Laura and David were the ideal couple to work with. Thank you to Desi Baytan Photography, Lauryl Lane and the editors of Style Me Pretty for featuring this wedding. This wedding is an inspiration to all.
A beautiful wedding and photographs by Desi! Laura and David are a great couple. Everything that evening was so elegant and well planned.
Thank you for all the comments! It's so much fun to relive our wedding day through this post!
Sadie got it right on the dress. It is Anne Barge, LF 161. I had straps added and had the neckline modified to be more sweathearty.
And thank you to all of our wonderful vendors! Our wedding day was perfect and felt magical all the way through. LaDawn is just amazing and the best person a stressed out bride could ask for. Lauryl is incredible--the florals were everything we dreamed of and more. And Desi--not only is he fun to be around, but the pictures are GORGEOUS. Plus, the venue is beautiful and comfortable, and our other vendors were great as well. I'll have to come back to this and gush more later. Point is though, we were very lucky to have such an amazing team helping us to create our dream wedding.
Laura - I love love love the table numbers and escort cards. So creative! How did you make them?
Laura, Congratulations!!! What a stunning wedding, and totally amazing flowers! I LOVE the tree slices. could you tell me where you found them?
What a beautiful wedding, love the florals, such a great mix of colour!
Thank you!!! Here's how I made the table numbers and place cards:
I used a lot of glue-backed paper that you can buy at fabric stores (i believe it's called heat n' bond, or something similar). With the paper, you iron it on to the back of fabric, glue side down. Then you cut out the shapes of fabric. Then you pull off the paper and iron the fabric shapes onto whatever you are attaching them to.
For the place cards, I used one pattern of fabric for each table. I ironed on the glue-backed paper, traced my number shapes and cut them out with scissors, then pulled off the paper and ironed each number onto a piece of card stock. I cut those pieces of card stock to around 3"x4" (before attaching the fabric). I wrote each guest's name on the bottom with a calligraphy pen.
For the table numbers, I cut many many pieces of card stock in the size that I wanted using a ruler and x-acto knife. Next, I ironed the glue-backed paper onto the eyelet. I cut out the rectangles of eyelet using pinking shears, and ironed them onto the pieces of card stock. Then I cut the numbers out of patterned fabric using the same method as above, and ironed them onto the card stock on top of the eyelet. Then I glued each together with an added layer of cardstock in between, so that each table number was double-sided and had 3 total layers of card stock. I used one pattern of fabric for each shape table (we had round, square and long tables).
As for the tree slices, those were tracked down by the multi-talented Lauryl Lane. I know she had the card-holder ones specially cut to accomodate the table numbers. I don't know whether that's also true of the larger ones that sat under some of the arrangements.
The tree stumps were already at our venue. They usually have them set up as chairs next to log tables. We used them to line the aisle at our ceremony because they're so pretty!
Thank you, Laura!!
I used to work at Highland Springs Resort. It is wonderful to see a beautiful wedding held in such a special setting. I love the teal ties, succulents and escort cards. Absolutely lovely! Best wishes to the bride and groom!
