We always know we're in for a day of total gorgeous whenever Aaron Delesie is involved. He is the peanut butter to our jelly and his photographs? Beyond, beyond, beyond. This Botanical Garden photo shoot is his latest and greatest contribution to the wedding world. David Pressman Events masterminded the gorgeous design along with Krista Jon at the floral and tablescape helm and we can't forget the invitations. Those beauties were designed by Soolip. So there you have it...total inspiration eye candy, a bevy of fabulous vendors and more photographs to fawn over in the gallery. The perfect way to end the week if you ask us. Enjoy!
Our design story began with two ideas, the first putting tables right in the midst of a huge vegetable garden on the grounds of an incredible private home on one of Malibu’s most exclusive streets, Bonsall Drive. Tucked away behind a set of vintage wooden gates, the property lent itself to hosting this event with its beautifully manicured garden literally a stone’s throw from the crashing waves of the blue Pacific.
The second idea came while brainstorming with Wanda Wen, owner, founder, and creative genius behind the paper store Soolip in West Hollywood. Wanda had found a small piece of fabric that she was dying to incorporate into a wedding invitation. The fabric, Sublime Lace in Angel, by Marcie Bronkar Home Couture, became the element that tied together everything from the invitations to the table settings to the floral designs. Needless to say I went right out and bought every last piece of this couture angel colored lace that existed.
For the tabletops we used a combination of pure white country bone china from Classic Party Rentals with antique sterling silver flatware and vintage Tiffany Studios candlesticks from my personal collection to play against the simple elegance of the white china. Classic also supplied the wooden table and benches that did so much to support the visual story. Our color story started with the angel colored lace and 1920’s green favrille and bronze Tiffany candlesticks that allowed the amazingly talented Krista Jon to fill the tabletop with botanicals, greens and vintage amber glass pieces that sat perfectly on the angel colored lace and brought the surrounding garden onto the tabletop.
The finishing touches were custom made cushions designed to tie together all of the aspects of this one-of-a-kind bohemian wedding table that would have felt at home anywhere in the world - but found its true home across the Pacific Coast Highway in a world that came to exist truly in our minds’ eye - filled with quirky and unusual surprises that delighted the senses.
