From Events by LOVEinc. (The Bride)… We wanted a romantic, intimate, vintage garden feel for our destination wedding. Fifty of our closest friends and family joined us for a week long celebration on the island of Maui. We chose Haiku Mill as our venue and the setting was perfect. With its Parisian antiques, elegant crystal chandeliers and the open-air ceiling, it was magical.
The ceremony decor was simple with chivari chairs placed under the chandelier embellished glass roof. We were married on the stone steps in front of a gorgeous waterfall. Our authentic Hawaiian minister made our ceremony incredibly romantic and we exchanged vows that we wrote ourselves. I wore a gown by lazaro which sparkled in the sunlight and shoes by Christian Louboutin & Monolo Blanik. My veil was made by my mother and I wore fresh Hawaiian orchids in my hair.
The reception decor that we incorporated had many personal touches. Luxe white linens with colorful vintage DIY fabric runners adorned the tables and were mirrored throughout the other decor. I collected antique bird cages, colorful tea tins, white porcelain birds and hurricane vases from Canada and had them all shipped to Maui beforehand. The dessert table was created by me and my Edmonton based company Events by LOVEinc. The LOVE themed table mirrored our gorgeous invitations made by The Wedding Chicks. To add to the vintage garden feel, we had peonies, garden roses, lavender and hydrangeas sent in from California.
Just as speeches started, it began to rain. Luckily, it didn’t dampen the mood. If anything, the rain made the evening feel even more romantic as we were all safely tucked under the glass topped tent, complete with glowing chandeliers. After the rain cleared, our guests could look up and see the stars above Maui glistening in the night as we danced the night away. Just before the night concluded, Cloud Nine Creative played our same day edit video to us and our guests. Its was such an intimate moment to watch the events of the day unfold. It was spectacular!
