We’ve been on a roll with the Literary Themed weddings, and I for one am kicking myself for ever knocking the “theme wedding.” This Colorado wedding at Villa Parker united two bibliophiles, and two talented bibliophiles at that. The bride made the book-lover bouquets, boutonnieres, flower girl wands AND centerpieces herself. Could we be any more jealous? I don’t think so. We love Villa Parker, the FAB venue, for sending this scholarly masterpiece our way! Visit Villa Parker’s blog to read up on more of this wedding.

From Villa Parker … At their time of booking, Catie had just finished her Masters in Literature, explained that the day would be book-themed and that their beloved dog, Oberon would attend. Furthermore, she explained that she was also handmaking ALL of the bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces!
Their wedding was just as amazing as I expected – it was relaxed and fun – filled with old friends, new friends and lots of loving family. Their details were perfect – The “Table of Contents” directed guests to their table, each of which was named after an author that had meaning to Catie and Derek.
The handmade bouquets, a total of nine, flower girl wands, and eight boutonnieres were all made out of thrift store book pages and colorful paper by Catie. The favors, baby jars filled with chocolate covered espresso beans were collected by friends with babies for the couple over the course of time leading up to their day. The ceterpieces, so simple, yet so fitting were old books, mason jars with candles and more of Catie’s perfect handmade flowers sprinkled here and there. It was a wonderful evening in every way.

I'm a librarian and severely allergic to flowers so I've been looking for tutorials on how to make paper bouquets as an alternative. Catie's are beautiful! Is there any way that someone knows if she used a template or could share some advice on her method?
Such a lovely wedding.
The flowers are so unique
@sampsonma, Hopefully Catie stops in to give you some tips! Aren't her bouquets gorgeous?
Oh, this is just so sweet. I love her bouquets - I'll have to find a DIY how to for those :)
Such a beautiful wedding! I love the table of contents : ).
Thank you all for all the wonderful compliments!
Sampsonma- Here is the tutorial I used: http://meholder.blogspot.com/2009/03/paper-flower-tutorial.html . Good luck! Be prepared to spend a lot of time- each flower takes about 7 minutes to make. =)
Oh, but I got the idea from this tutorial from offbeat bride: http://offbeatbride.com/2009/06/diy-paper-flower-bouquet
Of course, my dear friend Catie is far too modest to tell you all that she has turned all the skills she learned while crafting for her wedding into her very own Etsy store where she now makes these beautiful flowers for others. Here it is! http://www.etsy.com/shop/CreationsbyCatie?utm_source=Facebook&utm_medium=App_Seller&utm_content=shops&utm_campaign=fb_seller_shop
@Catie - Thank you! I'm definitely going to put that on my list of things to try out.
PS Congratulations, I hope you're enjoying the married life.
