It is not too often that we reserve an entire day for one wedding but with a Jose Villa number like this, we’re almost tempted to reserve a whole week. Instead, we are kicking back and letting the gorgeous images do all the work while visions of the perfect wedding re-dos dance in our heads. And these nuptials of photography talent KT Merry are all out romance. Ohhhh, the romance. We are literally eating it up one beautiful detail at a time. And for all of you brides to be who are dying to borrow the gorgeous details from this affair, we haven’t left you hanging. We have a buying guide coming up next filled with tons of steal-worthy bits. And don’t forget, even more can be found right here! Click here to see Part I.

Our ceremony location was all about natural beauty with huge pines overlooking Lake Tahoe. We had a large military presence at our wedding with my dad being a decorated Naval Captain. He wore his traditional dress whites (sword and all) to escort me down the aisle. Our ceremony site, was decorated by a symbolic circle of white rose petals with the guest chairs in two semicircles surrounding. The ceremony was given by a close friend of my fathers known as ‘Badger’ who is revered as the best fighter pilot living today. He closed our ceremony with ‘by the power vested in me as fighter pilot…’. I also attached my Dad’s bronze star he was awarded from his service in Iraq to the base of my bouquet.
From the ceremony, our guests were shuttled down the mountain to the valley where I grew up. In the foothills lies a 500 acre ranch owned my one of my dearest friends and bridesmaid. The ranch has a small farm house with a fenced yard where we served cocktails before the reception. Later, guests were seated at long wooden king’s tables for an outdoor reception in front of a 100+ year old barn decorated with chandeliers and a moss set of letters making our initials.
Family and friends played a huge role in the decor of the wedding. My bridesmaid Nicole created the runners for all the tables, my Aunt Terry created the signs that pointed to horseshoes, dancing and cocktails, my cousin Sara found antique chandeliers, and old doors that created tables over wine barrels. I also asked several members of our families prior to the wedding to locate vintage plates in their area and they served at the plates for our table settings, each unique and decorated with a fresh gardenia. I personally found all the mercury glass that we used and my mother hand crafted framed chalk boards that we used for the menu and signature drinks signs. She and a friend also created a pair of wooden swings that were decorated with flowers and were hung in the cocktail location.

Wow- stunning as always- Jose Villa is one of my personal favorites- no matter who he shoots or where it is spectacular
Love Jose's photography as always!
Gorgeous photographs, I love the ribbons on the back of the chairs, lovely alternative to chair covers, definitely going to try them!
Especially loved her dress and the barn setting. The vintage truck was a nice touch.

A Dream Wedding
Ok, it's a little bit weird to be looking at myself on SMP... I check this site every single day and now all I see is my own face! Just thought I'd share that emotion...
Wow, bringing back tons of beautiful memories though. Thank goodness for Jose or I would have forgotten so many of the details. Brides, do your self a favor and hire a great photographer... It's hands down the best decision we made during the whole process. Thank you to my beautiful wife and to Jose for making our day awesome! Love this!
Wow! This wedding is stunning, and the backdrop is gorgeous. As a girl getting married in the mountains, I'll be taking some inspiration from this wedding.
The backdrop for this wedding is incredible! Every single detail is lovely.
Spectacular setting......amazing photographer.......beautiful couple! Doesn't get much better than that...right?
Aww Jose... You're never one to disappoint.
every single thing about this wedding is perfect.
What a beautiful wedding! Where did you all get the wooden easel for the menu board?
I love everything about this wedding. EVERYTHING!
The easel was hand made out of three fallen tree branches and some twine.
Sooo lovely! I especially like the pics of the bride and groom. For some reason I'm usually more keen on seeing the decor, but the pictures are so well done and sweet. And the last pic is hilarious :)
Jose Villa's work is always top-notch. These photos are beautifully staged.
Hahaha I LOVE that last image!! That's awesome!
Beautiful and playfull! love the images.
Ridiculously amazing!! Ah-maz-ing!!!
I really enjoyed looking at these photos. It was a gorgeous event!
I checked both KT's blog and the notes here, but I didn't see this question answered: where did that GORGEOUS cake topper come from? If it was custom made, by whom?! I'm in love with the "rustic princess" feel it added! :)
What fun this is!!!! I love it, thank you for sharing these great photos!!
Morgan, the cake topper came from an antique store in norther California. I just checked it and there are no markings on it, so sorry! Wish I had a better answer for you. I know there are reproduction ones online, not sure of the sites but I'm sure the SMP girls would be able to help.
how did you write on the windows for table seating? I loved that!
SUCH a gorgeous wedding, but am I blind or do I not see the mention of a planner/coordinator anywhere? How did you run a whole weekend without a professional sending everyone down the aisle, etc?
KT & Chad, oh my gosh, your wedding day was so incredibly beautiful! Every detail is amazing and it's so obvious that you guys worked so hard to put this together! WOW! And, of course, Jose did an amazing job. Congrats on the beautiful feature! :-)
The calligraphy on the windows was painted on by a friend of ours, she did an amazing job and is noted in the credits. Thanks everyone for the kind comments, KT and I are very humbled. It's been almost a year since we got married so it's been fun to re-live the day thru these posts. Amazing memories, we want to do it again!! Thanks SMP!
This wedding is knocking my socks off! It is perfect harmony between gorgeous elegance and rustic charm. IN LOVE. The couple is adorably connected. The old photos, blush bm dresses, wood elements, her dress! Wow, wow, wow!
AMAZING!!... i am a big fan of Jose Villa's work and the location, setting.. everything comes into place just PERFECTLY!!:)
STUNNING!
I adore this wedding. Does anyone know the style name of the dress and the BM dresses? Thanks!
Wow... seriously???? This wedding has it all! Perfection!

Too cute picture of them in the car. The bride looks lovely caught in the light, in the photo in front of the mountain.
oh wow i love the ribbons on the chairs that is a touch of softness i wouldn't have thought of!
the numbers/letters covered in moss are HUGE at the moment
Stunning in so many ways! I loved it from the start, but fell head-over-heels, madly in love when I saw the swings. Love!
Wow !! Elles sont magnifiques !!! J'adore !!!!
Lovely in every sense of the word!
Such a pretty venue and photos (as always by Jose Villa)
Yes, I would like to order one free senic venue in Lake Tahoe please? With a side of perfect weather? And a calligrapher friend? And family, please scour for vintage chandeliers, tableware and mercury glass?
You guys are truly blessed! There's not many families or friends that can (or will) invest so much.
Everything about this wedding really takes my breath away- it was magnificant! I love every single detail and to top it off the bride & groom are just gorgeous!
Please tell me I can rent out this private venue! I have been looking for something like this for ages! So stunning, this is my dream wedding.
