Italy Wedding by MIMMO & NAZ
Sadly, I’ve never been to Italy. The closest I’ve been is Spain, so I’m not claiming to be an expert on Italian weddings or anything. But I’m pretty sure all you amateurs and pros alike will agree with me that these images from MIMMO & NAZ are the epitome of Italian romance! From MIMMO & NAZ: They say that boredom breeds trouble, but in this case it bred true love. In the spring of 2008 both Diego and Stephanie found themselves with accounts on a European social networking website; the motive, to simply pass the time. In a matter of only four days destiny struck and Stephanie’s profile picture caught Diego’s eye, captured his heart and intrigued his imagination – he messaged her: “Hello.”
Diego, from Genova, Italy and Stephanie, from Toronto, Ontario instantly became smitten with each other. From the first message sent, Diego and Stephanie spent hours on end talking. Their relationship moved fairly quickly and by that summer Diego had already bought a ticket to Toronto to meet the love of his life face-to-face. Their time together that summer was nothing short of magic and they both knew that they were definitely in love. The long distance love continued and December brought Stephanie to Genova to see her beau and meet his famiglia. The more time they spent together the more they knew they stumbled upon something stupendous. Before returning to Toronto to meet her family, a romantic evening in Portofino would forever be known as the day Stephanie and Diego became officially engaged. Back and forth, forth and back – a long distance love – though hard, is always worth it when its real.
They decided they would have their wedding on Italy’s Ligurian coast in the August of 2010. With they help of both families and all the friends they could get their hands off they did it! Stephanie wore an antique white Nicole Miller dress and he wore a classic morning coat. We were floating and glowing the entire day. It was a perfect summer day, not too hot, not too humid- just perfect. The view was picturesque, including bride and her bridegroom, everything was just stunning. This couple exchanged vows in a recently restored church dating back to the 1500s. Before friends and family they committed themselves to one another, to their past, to their present and to their future.
After the ceremony the newlyweds and their guests enjoyed an incredible meal at a famous villa’s Orangerie. Stephanie and Diego danced the night away by the setting sun and the calm coast, they gladly toasted to true love and are living happily ever after.

A wedding in Italy would be a dream. That cathedral is beyond gorgeous.

What a sweet, beautiful, classic wedding! The bride is stunning. Her choice of gown is excellent, highlighting her natural beauty. And the Church architecture simply timeless and gorgeous - wish they could transplant those churches here in Toronto :) A blessed marriage to the couple!

Thank you so much "Style Me Pretty!!!" As parents, we are so blessed by this union of Stephanie and Diego's. When Gary and I made it a point to teach our children about their parents' country and culture of birth (Yes. "Gary" was born in Italy, too.) never in our wildest dreams did we think that our firstborn would marry a boy born in the same place as the historical discoverer of the Americas (i.e. Cristoforo Colombo)!! That she found such a lovely young man has, I'm confident, made many of Stephanie's Italian ancestors beam brightly with pride where they are now, keeping the company of angels! As we say in Italian,"Viva gli sposi!" And long live, too, Mimmo and Naz, without whose exceptional artistic creativity and brilliance these extraordinary moments of joy would never have been captured so beautifully.
