Virginia Wedding at The Mill at Fine Creek

Ladies and gents, the groom of this Virginia wedding is a certified keeper with a capital K. Actually let’s just hit the caps lock key and make him an all caps KEEPER because that would be fitting for this gem of a groom. This little post just happens to be a surprise to the SMP loving bride (surprise!!) and was submitted by her loving hubby because he knew just how much she adored the site. Well, I just adore this winter wedding and all of its well thought out details, but I am a sucker for this well thought out surprise submission most of all.  Angie Garfield Photography was there to see these lovebirds in action and filled our gallery with images as sweet as this darling duo.

From the Groom… I’m submitting our wedding for my wife without her knowing. She checked your website religiously and used it for ideas and inspiration. I think we had a beautiful wedding, due to her finding great ideas at budget prices. While I know I’m biased, I think everything was of the highest quality and well thought out.

We were married in Powhatan, VA near where we both are from.  As I live in Charlestown, MA for work and my wife was in Richmond for Pharmacy School, she did much of the planning herself, though I tried to help out as much as possible on visits and with input over the phone.  The ceremony and reception were held at the Mill at Fine Creek with about 110 of our friends and family in attendance. We honeymooned in St. Lucia and have since returned to the Boston area now that she is done with school. I was extremely happy with how everything turned out and I think our photographer and videographer did an especially great job capturing our special day.

So sweet indeed!! CHECK OUT THE VIDEO by clicking on Josh Gooden Photography and Cinematography link in the "credits", it too is super sweet! I am an SMP addict (this is a good thing) myself and I definitely see the SMP influences in their wedding! She (and the groom) did a fantastic job at editing the likely hundreds of ideas, resulting in a beautifully appointed design. Congrats! (And Congrats on Pharmacy school- I know how hard it must have been to plan a wedding while in school! Cheers to the Groom in supporting this chaos from a distance- You two ROCK!)

Such a clean & a little rustic wedding. I typically do not like baby's breath (gypsophila) but I think it worked wonderfully here. Sometimes it can cheapen the look of your floral arrangements but having it stand alone against the neutral linens and dark chiavari is a hip and refreshing change. I like the touch of lace added to each glass vase. Even though the overall look was simple and clean, it really showed the thoughtfulness the bride put into decorating. Can I just add, what a charming hubby to do this for his new bride :)

I just happened upon this and was brought to tears. Thanks for all of your kind words and of course, thank you to my amazing husband for surprising me with this. I can't even begin to understand how he pulled this off and that fact that it was posted on our 5 month anniversary is just another testament to his awesomeness :) Happy planning to all of you SMP fans!

Melissa- the bridesmaids shoes are from Rack Room--can't remember the brand name.

Love this. Does anyone know who makes the bridesmaids shoes? Searching for gray shoes for a wedding I am in and those would be perfect!
