From Johnny Productions: While their romance started in the heart of the city of  Hong Kong, Winnie & Andrew were looking to capture a warmer, more intimate vibe with an outdoor and relaxed venue for their July 2010 nuptials. After an extensive search (from Italy to Bali) they found their fit with the Istana Villa in Bali, Indonesia. With panoramic views of the ocean and a perfect blue sky, their reception was filled with beautiful speeches and a lively after party that went well into the night. Family and friends flew in from eight different countries including England, U.S., Switzerland, Japan and Australia to begin the celebration in Bali just before sunset. The aisles were trimmed with bouquets and glass-lanterns and lined with white rose-petals. Her four bridesmaids wore floral dresses which echoed Winnie’s Vera Wang lace applique gown perfectly. To set the tone for the event, Winnie worked closely with Laura Hooper for her custom designed letter-pressed invitations and wedding itinerary. An after-dinner dessert buffet was sat close to the dance floor so that all of the guests could enjoy free-flowing drinks and all the sweet treats throughout the night.Winnie and Andrew also welcomed their guests to Bali with a dinner beginning with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony at Sarong restaurant. The wedding was followed by a poolside sunday brunch party at the wedding venue. It was a perfect wedding weekend with the perfect weather to match.

  1. Sinead says:

Is the gown for the wedding really McQueen? I know his stuff pretty well and thought he didn't make wedding dresses (except Sarah Burton's Kate Middleton dress). I've looked into it. Please clarify. RIP McQ!

  2. Sinead says:

Not taking the piss out - everything is gorgeous but I heart McQ.

  3. Stephania Andrade says:

Absolutely love the location of this wedding! Gorgeous and elegant all around.

  4. natalie says:

i must know where the bride's blusher veil is from. I'm loving it!

  5. Lisa says:

The blurb says the gown is by Vera Wang but the vendor/location etc. details say the gown was by McQueen. Thinking it must be Vera Wang since as Sinead notes, McQ doesn't do gowns...right?

  6. Loved the classic lace/white themed wedding..very traditional and yet with a modern flair.

  7. Winnie Saxton says:

Hi Sinead, my gown was from Vera Wang, and my reception dress was McQueen (the simple one I cut my cake with, you can see it on pg 9 of the gallery). You can check out some of Mcqueen's wedding dresses on netaporter.com, which is where I purchased the dress from :)
Natalie, my veil was from Vera Wang :)
    thanks Robbin! :)

  8. Winnie Fung Saxton says:

I meant "the one I cut my cake in" haha oops :P
o also, for those who are interested, netaporter.com is now selling the same dress but with a different pattern, the one from this season is floral, but it's the same cut and everything :) http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/111969

  9. Frances says:

OMG! Winnie I love everything about your wedding! Wouldn't have expected anything less! You looked so stunning!

Drop me a line hun! Miss you ! :)

  10. Heather says:

Absolutely love the clean fresh look of this wedding, its amazing how white can leave such a dramatic feeling of bliss. My favorite part is the raw look of the wedding favors, I think it was a perfect touch to the tables. We created a favor similar to this as well at you can view it and others at pureblissandjoy.com. :)

  11. Cyndi says:

    Beautiful Wedding. Love the details.

  12. Anne says:

Wow! I love the wedding ceremony dress. Is the beading around the waist a separate sash, or is it part of the dress? Would love to know!

  13. Ashley says:

Love, love, love! The welcome reception and after-party (LOVE!) dresses are equally fabulous, and TWO pairs of Louboutins!! Jeeeeallllous! ;)

  14. Stacie says:

Winnie, can you please tell me which Etsy vendor did your place cards? They are beautiful, as was the rest of your wedding. Thanks!

  15. Sinead says:

Love Net a Porter, you looked amazing and pulled off all the desingers really well - can we say jealous!! Congrats, gorgeous!

  16. Winnie Saxton says:

Thank you everyone for your kind words ! :)

Frances, how have you been!! It's so good to hear from you :) btw, I love all your photos on your SMP post too! :) Seems so long ago since we exchanged our wedding planning notes :) you looked AMAZING in your gown and every little detail was perfect at your wedding. Loved everything about it!

Anne, I actually ordered 2 seperate sash for my Vera. The dress did come with a taffeta sash which is suppose to be tied into a bow but I wanted something less dramatic and light, so I ended up not using that at all (you can see the original bow sash in the photo with the dress just hanging on it's own). So I ordered a raffia material sash in ivory from Vera Wang seperately (it's called the Zoe sash because it came with a dress called Zoe which is now discontinued, the girls at VW told me the sash was being discontinued as well...so I bought mine off-the-shelve and you might be able to find a sample somewhere too), and I also got the horse-hair bow sash to tie on top for a "obi" effect, the horse-hair bow sash was in ivory and it's still currently available for ordering :)

Stacie, I ordered my place cards and menus from http://www.etsy.com/dearemma , you can also email them directly at dearemmastationery@gmail.com. Everyone from DearEmma was great and very flexible to all my changes. They worked with me patiently and sent me samples all the way to Hong Kong until I was happy with the exact shade of blush... :P I recommend them 100%! Good luck with all your planning!!

  17. Winnie Saxton says:

Stacie, I just realized you were referring to the placecards...not the escort cards..sorry :P

The butterly placecards and tags were from "TimelessPaper" on Etsy
    http://www.etsy.com/listing/70152177/butterfly-place-cards-set-of-250?ref=sr_list_6&ga_search_query=butterfly+placecards&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade

They were great and very pretty but keep in mind that if your reception venue is at all windy, it could be quite a task to keep them on the glasses. We were able to only put them on briefly for a few pictures

    Happy planning!

  18. Madison says:

oh wow every single wedding i've ever seen set in Bali i've fallen in love with and this one is no different. Just gorgeous!

  19. Rhéanne says:

Winnie, your gowns/wedding were simply stunning!!

I am getting married October 1 and I also have the Bouquet gown (in Ivory), it arrives in June, I cannot wait to try it on!! I love what you did with the Zoe sash as well, definitely added a touch of glam to the gown! Love, love, love!!

  20. Winnie Saxton says:

Thanks Madison :) Bali is magical, it is definitely one of me and my husband's favorite place on earth!

Rhéanne, I am so excited for you! I loved my Bouquet gown (in ivory too), it's elegant and timeless and it was everything I ever wanted in a wedding dress. I remember the wait for it to arrive seem like the longest time!!! You will absolutely love the gown and I wish you a fantastic October wedding!! Have lots of fun in your Bouquet!

  21. Wow... beautiful image (second to last). Sky, reflection, lighting - perfect!

  22. Gorgeous details.
I have shot 3 weddings at The Istana and never get tired of shooting there.
    well done

  23. Emily says:

Absolutely lovely. Bouquet was my dream dress but ended up with Le Notre due to budget. If anyone is selling their VW Bouquet, I am definitely interested. Every detail of your day seems beautiful and full of life. Congrats!

  24. Kristina says:

Dress is definitely Vera... I know because it's my dress too! I'm using the original sash but her belt is lovely, too.

  25. Courtney says:

By any chance, does anyone know where the gold lanterns on the reception tables are from? They are exactly what I'm looking for! Gorgeous wedding!
