Northern California Wedding Inspiration by Bret Cole Photography

I just la-la-la-love this wedding inspiration from Blush Bridal & Events.  The California light is full-on bliss and Bret Cole Photography captures it magnificently!  It doesn’t get much more romantic than a sweet picnic in a field.  So why not spread out a few blankets for your guests to lounge on during the ceremony and set the mood for the rest of the evening.  Fill in the decor with antique pieces, lace and luscious flowers and magic is bound to ensue.  Click here to see the full gallery!

This mock wedding was a concept that was developed by event and floral designer, Amanda McReynolds with Blush Bridal and events and Bret Cole of Bret Cole Photography.  The setting is on a ranch in Auburn, CA.  We wanted a location that wasn’t at a typical “venue” and an open field was the perfect choice for the look we were going for.  We wanted something natural but not even the typical garden look.  The field is covered in beautiful large oak trees from which we hung some unique items from including the chandelier above the dining table, its actually old lamp shades that have been stripped and revealing the bare bulb to give the event some “edge” and keep it from being too grandma-ish will all the other antique pieces that were incorporated.  Vintage mismatched china was used at the place settings as well as mismatched seating, including a vintage settee.  The floral designs were fairly simple, incorporating lots of succulents and garden roses.  The cake also incorporated succulents and moss.  The cake table itself was another unexpected element-an antique industrial trolley cart.  The ceremony site was an out-of-box concept of using creamy white blankets and quilts with burlap pillows as an alternative to actual chairs.  We wanted the ceremony to be a super casual, relaxed feel.  The arch was made from driftwood from a local lake (people were looking at us really weird when we were loading the back of our truck with driftwood.  The mock event was a blast designing and hope you enjoy looking at the images.
