May 3rd. 2011 by Abby Larson | Filed Under | 87 comments

It’s official. Style Me Pretty is taking over the world. Okay, not really. But we ARE launching our newest adventure…the Style Me Pretty Network! A collection of local blogs aimed at bringing the same swoon-worthy SMP inspirations and ideas to your very own stomping ground. Each blog will feature totally unique content updated every single day for your obsessing pleasure. We’ve started with our FIVE most popular areas according to traffic, though we’ll soon be conquering the US of A, one beautiful state at a time.

And there is so much more where these came from. These local blogs are the perfect place for us to spotlight the most amazing venues, specific vendors that we’ve fallen hard for and real weddings that have a local flair. We thought it was about time you brides had a chance to find the same SMP worthy ideas based in your own home states so rather than just being inspired, you can actually start snagging the same incredible vendors, venues and ideas for your own wedding.

So girls. Now’s the time to grab that third cup of coffee and check out each of our new local blogs. California, New York, Florida, Texas and our Destination Blog with weddings from around the globe. We’ve updated each of them with brand spanking new SMP style real weddings so there’s plenty of swooning already happening.

And if you want to vote for your own state to be next, just leave a comment below!

xoxo, The SMP Team

  1. Elizabeth says:

    Minnesota!!!!! :)

  2. Kristen says:

Thank you for doing this! I'm so glad to see this happening. This is absolutely what this site needed. I was finding that most of the GORGEOUS weddings took place in California. Being from Ohio, that wasn't helpful at all! I think this site could be most useful for brides who don't have endless options filled with beauty at every corner (like California....jealous) but for brides who struggle to find a venue that isn't a hotel ballroom. Personally, we have to travel 11 hours to find a venue filled with the beauty we've come to love on this site. Thanks for everything you do. You're really helping brides dreams come true!

  3. Tait Larson says:

Awwww, that was so sweet Kristen! And Elizabeth, I looooooooooooove me some Minnesota weddings so that is high on our list!

  4. CN says:

Brilliant idea! I'll be using the California page for the next year!

  5. mepinmin says:

    I agree - where's Minnesota??? :)

  6. What about us Canadians? We love your blog! And if you need the right people to spearhead it... :)

  7. Emily says:

I would love to see one of these for Louisiana (I need some more New Orleans weddings!)

  8. Jessica says:

Minnesota definitely deserves a spot! This is fantastic though!

  9. Jillian says:

Are you still going to post weddings on the original SMP blog or is it going to be phased out for the new state blogs?

  10. lstieve says:

Yay!! So excited about this and can't wait to SMP's gorgeous-ness span the "network"!

  11. Tait Larson says:

Abby accidentally left a comment as me. Oops.

The local blogs will be in addition to the main page blog. We just felt that brides would benefit from seeing, more local content.

  12. Gabriella says:

    Washington please!!

  13. Katie says:

I totally think the Midwest (minus Chicago- sorry chi town you are your own area) deserves a spot! Iowa, Minn, Ill, Wisco, Ohio, Missouri - we deserve some SMP love!

  14. Leila says:

Michigan!!! Or I second a general Midwest. Something that gives ideas for both country weddings and weddings in smaller cities. Compared to larger communities there tends to be little talk at least on the michigan wedding boards.

  15. Rachel says:

    Vermont, please!!!

  16. COLORADO!! Who doesn't love these spectacular mountains? The lovely brides-to-be would love some SMP love here too :)

    DEFINITELY CHICAGO!!!

  28. Jen says:

  29. Tait Larson says:

  30. SO much fun!!!! what a great idea!!!

  31. Yes! This is so great. I'm overjoyed to see Texas weddings as a part of this. When I tell my brides, they are going to be ecstatic!

  32. Tait Larson says:

MA just missed the cut this time around. I'd love to do it next round. Boston, The Cape and the Berkshires have some great weddings.

    What about a Carolinas blog?

  34. Laura says:

Georgia, pretty please! (I need more inspiration for the next year!)

  35. Kimberly says:

This is fantastic! Will you be hiring more people to help out with the local blogs? If so I would love to help out with the California edition!

    Kim

  36. Abby Larson says:

Our goal is (fingers crossed) to roll out five new blogs every couple of months so we're hoping to really make some goo headway within the year. We will most likely launch the most requested areas and/or the most popular by traffic so make sure to leave a comment if you are dying to see your state up first!

  37. Abby Larson says:

We will be! if you'd like to be considered shoot me an email and I'll keep you posted.

  38. Meghan says:

Very excited to see a separate Destination Blog was included along with the states selected. Keeping this comment brief, because I'm going to check it out now!

  39. Kimberly says:

This is so wonderful! Can't wait for you to add Oregon!

  40. April says:

    New Mexico weddings please!

  41. paloma says:

THIS IS SO AWESOME! I am so looking forward to the Connecticut blog!!!

  42. GREAT idea! Minnesota!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  43. camille says:

    MINNESOTA!!!!!

  44. TiffyB (Dust & Decadence) says:

Love it! I'd love to see Washington (Seattle) make it onto the list!

  45. Sara says:

Would love to see a Southern New England section that could include Boston, the Cape, the Berkshires as well as the Connecticut coastline, beautiful Newport, RI and other gorgeous historical towns and cities in our region.

  46. Ashley says:

Colorado! It seems most Colorado weddings I've seen on blogs are at high-end ski resorts, but I'd love to see some weddings that a real Colorado girl could afford.

  47. MeggyLou says:

    Philadelphia please!!!!!

  48. Maegan Ann says:

I'm really feeling a New England blog!!!

  49. Jaclyn says:

Have you SEEN the Kentucky weddings posted on this blog??! You must feature the Midwest/Southeast! Especially ones from the Bluegrass state!!!

  50. Steph says:

    Minnesota, please!!!

  51. Nicole says:

I love this idea! Tennessee please!!!

  52. Kathryn says:

  54. Sara2010 says:

Ah this is amazing! I love the California wedding you guys featured. Cannot WAIT till you guys come on down to Georgia :D

  55. Kate says:

DC/ Virginia please! There are always a million good Charlottesville weddings, and since I'm having one of my own they are always my favorite to peruse : )

  56. Ashley B says:

Connecticut... or at least NEW ENGLAND for that matter! We may be small but we've got some great weddings over here :-)

  57. Shanti says:

INDIANA! It's gorgeous here =) And, though I may be biased since he's my dad, I can confidently say Indiana has been blessed with a most incredible wedding photographer, Daniel Knight. (www.danielknightstudiob.com)
I love this idea, btw. Style Me Pretty is the best!

  58. Kara says:

I love this idea! Can't wait until it comes to DC!

  59. Courtney says:

    Abby,

This is brilliant. Style Me Pretty is THE bridal blog, so to break it down by State for a local focus is really fabulous. I've been fantasizing about starting my own blog in the Pacific Northwest/Seattle area after my recent wedding in September 2010. I've been very intimidated because I'm not computer savvy. If you start hiring writers/researchers/dreamers on the ground in each of your 'local' places PLEASE email me. I'm your girl.

    Good Luck!
    Courtney Johnson

  60. rita says:

    minnesota, please!

  61. Laura says:

Definitely Colorado, and not just the ritzy Vail weddings ... I agree with Ashley. Some prettiness for real Colorado brides.

  62. Christine says:

MARYLAND MARYLAND MARYLAND!!! Would prefer it on its own, but it can be grouped with DC and Virginia, if necessary, but the great venues and neat little shops in Maryland often get looked over for the more swanky DC area. Maryland definitely has a lot to offer!!!!

  63. Kathryn says:

Midwest!! We totally need help out here :).

  64. This is SO exciting! Can't wait to see how this unfolds and grows! Can't imagine...SMP is the vogue of wedding blogs so I can only imagine the steam, power and influence behind it. Big Big Congrats! Such an accomplishment~ you must feel so proud!

I would be extatic to see a Canadian Blog..or Vancouver BC if we would be so lucky...im thining probably not though...so Canada...please?!
Would the blog feature contributing editors or be compiled and put out by a few pre-selected individuals?

All the luck in the world and may you be blessed by this new venture!

  65. Abby Larson says:

The VOGUE of weddings!!!??? I am totally stealing that line. Canada is fully in the works, we are just trying to figure out how to break it up. And each set of blogs has their own set of writers. We'll happily consider guest contributors though! xoxo

  66. Kate says:

SMP needs to do the South, dahling! Carolinas, GA, AL, etc!

  67. Lindsey says:

How about Australia? Lots of pretty things happening over here.... :)

  68. SMP South! Virginia!

  69. Don't forget Western Colorado - Aspen, Vail, Grand Junction, Glenwood Springs, Durango. If you want some beautiful wedding images, let me know. Thanks, Karen

  70. Jenny says:

Canada!! Vancouver and the West Coast in particular!

  71. Leanne says:

For a destination wedding: South Africa!!!

  72. t c says:

    Please do one for Chicago!!

  73. Who knew so many people were from Minnesota? :)

I don't live in Oregon, but it is my dream state -- so I can't wait for that one!

I'm from NY and hope my July wedding will be added to the blog!!<3

Also, are they all going to be listed on the main blog and then also posted on the corresponding state's blog? Or are they all completely separate blogs?

  74. Alina says:

    DC area please!!!

  75. Laura Lee says:

Georgia and Tennessee!! We need more good ole Southern weddin's! :)

  76. Angela says:

I'd love to see a SMP local blog for MA or even just New England.

  77. Sydney Australia Please.

  78. AshleyKate says:

This is SO, SO exciting! I would love to see a Kentucky-based SMP page! Let's infuse the online land of pretty with a bundle of bluegrass beauty!

  79. J says:

Arizona would be great!!!!! Beautiful sunsets and desert colors. AZ PLEASE!!!

  80. Absolutely brilliant and so exciting! Crossing my fingers my beautiful state of Colorado is next. Plenty of stunning weddings happening here :)

  81. cleesmile says:

    Massachusetts!! Massachusetts!!

I'm seconding Laura and Elizabeth's vote: GEORGIA please. After all, who doesn't love a good ol' peach of a wedding?
