I absolutely love the dress! It seems a little simple and classic for her style, but I suppose as the Duchess of Cambridge, she has a certain reputation to uphold. I liked the double kiss since the first one was a little short. This is the wedding of the century and I can't wait to see more throughout the day!
I am in love with her look. That is the way I picture a modern princess to look on her wedding day!
Kate looks absolutely stunning and I think the dress is a perfect choice! I'm a bit surprised she didn't go bigger with the bouquet but she probably wanted to keep the focus on her and the gown. Lovely!
The thing that struck me the most was that her choices were all so spot on! There was so much anticipation here in the UK ahead of the wedding and the speculation over the dress was rife, it could have been a huge anticlimax but it was just the opposite. It was the last word in understated royal elegance, there needed to be something show stopping about it, the voluminous (without being a meringue) skirt and gorgeous train really hit the mark. I also loved the stunning bridesmaid dress Pippa Middleton was wearing, she also looked fantastic, second only to her sister!
Jem xXx
Gorgeous. Perfectly classic. Everything about her is simply beautiful.
She was utter perfection.
I thought both Kate and William are so beautiful! The dress was breathtaking!!
One of my many favorite moments was when Kate arrived beside William and it looked
like he said" You look beautiful, lovely" Then thanked her Father....So gracious!
I agree Jem...loved the simplicity of the style and the choices that she made. Understated royal elegance. And I was OBSESSING over Pippa's dress:)
She looked beautiful, the only thing that annoyed me was when she was travelling in the coach after the ceremony and her hair was coming out underneath her veil and it appeared like it wasn't curled properly. But she looked totally beautiful.
She is the epitome of royal class. I couldn't have loved her dress choice more. The only annoyance I found were the commentators on TLC- they had to find SOMETHING to gripe about, but I thought everyone looked flawless and the wedding was perfect. I wish morning coats like the MOB was wearing (like we've seen Kate in so often) would make an appearance over here. They're so figure-flattering!
OBSESSED.
I am getting married in June and only hope that it comes together as smoothly and beautifully as this one did. I like what one CNN commentator said, everyone, on their wedding day, is in a way, Royalty. King and Queen of their kingdom. I love that. Kate and William are perfect and the ceremony and every detail reflected that.
I thought the wedding was absolutely beautiful, and Kate truly looked like a princess. The dress was absolutely amazing, and the veil and lace sleeves were so demure! They are such a gorgeous couple and you said it, I am definitely in love with this couple!! Wish the first kiss had been a little longer, but it was sweet because they almost seemed nervous : ) Also, Pippa is a total fox! Loved her dress too.
OH and how awesome she did her own hair and makeup!!
Everything was absolutely breathtaking. From watching all of the royal family in their fabulous cars waving to the crowds and catching first glimpses of all the outfits, to seeing Kate step out for the first time, to the kiss....everything was perfect.
I PVR'd it and plan to watch it all over again tonight! Pippa's dress was gorgeous, and despite it being white it was extremely tastefully done so as to not take away from Kate, but instead to compliment her! Kate was true to her style in her choices and I think that means a lot. She is stunning any day of the week, but on her wedding day she was glowing! I can't wait to go home and re-watch the whole event!
Fave moments: 1) Harry to William "Wait til you see her" 2) William to Kate when she got up to the altar "I love you, you look beautiful" 3) Kate to William in the carriage "I'm so happy."
So many good moments!
I had no expectations and didn't follow all the preparations in the last few months. But she was so beautiful... and her sister too. I wish them all the best! and btw I saw your tweet at the bbc site while live streaming and that brought me here! Regards from the Netherlands!
What an elegant, classical, stunning Princess! she's so beautiful and simple!!she perfectly represents european elegance!
Love it. Absolutely beautiful and elegant and everything a fairytale wedding is made of.
Makes you want to fall in love all over again and get married. :)
Kate's dress is gorgeous, but I have a thing for that of her sister. So beautiful, both so simple and elegant! Great lines!!
Kate is simply stunning! Quite possibly the most beautiful bride I've seen. The wedding was gorgeous. I was amazed by how long her walk down the aisle was, I bet she was nervous! Their first look at each other was so sweet. And the balcony kiss... swoon!
Her dress was PERFECT! I loved the understated elegance, even the small bouquet. It really put the focus on her rather than some over-the-top outfit.
I'm madly in love with the neckline and the lace in her dress. It's gorgeous!
Her bouquet left much to be desired....totally lame.
What an amazing couple, wedding, everything! I was captivated from 4 am on and I feel a little sad that it's all over! So many heartwarming moments :)
There were grumblings before the wedding about how much the entire affair was going to cost the country in this time of economic uncertainty. And, I like that when she made choices (the dress, the flowers, her jewelry) nothing looked like she had just spent money for the sake of spending money. Everything was elegant, understated and classic. There was no need to go over the top with flowers in the church. I think I saw hydrangeas, which I love.
Jury is still out on the trees. It probably help to soften the cold, cavernous space, but I wonder if they obstructed viewing for guests.
Absolutely loved the veil. I wish more brides would wear the veil down.
It was perfect. Like Cinderella came to life! Just perfect. I can't wait for my nieces to see it and see that it really can happen in real life!
And seriously... way to ROCK that dress, Pippa!
Absolutely Perfect! Kate is a beautiful woman inside and out, and a phenominal role model! Both she and Pippa were stunning, not a hair out of place. Couldn't have hoped for more!
I was hoping for a bigger bouquet !
swoon...that was so incredible...i teared up first seeing her...and as they came out to the balcony...what a lovely couple, a stunning, perfect princess dress-both timeless, classic AND modern, she is so gracious and it truly was that fairy tale you dream of. so totally worth getting up early to watch. it was lovely. sigh.
Completely underwhelmed. Dress was a total miss! Boring.
Let the copycatting commence!
Oh my goodness. This was just the most beautiful wedding. I LOVED her DRESS! It's just like the one I've always dreamed of, a cross between Grace Kelly's and a 2010 Pronovias Valentino Sposa Dress. Both of which are (sadly) WAY out of my price range but I love the SLEEVES! My rehersal dress is lace with sleeves (and knee-length short) so I'll have to settle for that :) LOVED it
She is such a classic beauty! The dress was simply gorgeous and timeless as was her decor and details. She is a perfect princess and perfect bride!
to anyone who says the dress was boring -- look again: the simplicity of the lines of the dress were what allowed Kate's incredible beauty to shine through, her happiness, and her own personal style. Isn't that what we all want to look like on our wedding day - to not be worn by a dress, but to wear a wedding gown that makes us feel - and look - exactly as we've always pictured ourselves on the happiest day of our lives? To some, maybe that means half a mile of fabric. From what I saw of the coverage, Kate and Will looked like this was (so far) the happiest day of their lives, and Kate looked as comfortable in her own skin as she could possibly be. That's a bride, and that's an amazing dress.
my 5yr old daughter, Daisy, would like to marry a prince ... kate is sublime ...
She looked pretty much perfect!
Beyond loved every detail! The dress, veil, hair and make up were perfection and the understated bouquet totally romantic and classic. The abbey looked like a dream with the trees! Swoon! x
The dress was inspired by Grace Kelly's wedding dress, but I did not like this Sarah Burton/Alexander McQueen version as much as I like the one Vera Wang did for Ivanka Trump's wedding in October 2009.
The tiara was the perfect choice by the Queen and I loved her earrings (gift from her parents) and the veil as well.
Absolutely stunning. Kate is the picture of beauty, elegance, grace and style. Pippa was stunning and the flower girls were modern and adorable. I loved how intimate the wedding felt even with the hundreds in attendance. Their personalities shined and you could feel their love pouring from the screen. I'm in awe.
Loved that she went understated. And I want, want WANT a veil like that. Absolutely beautiful.
Everything you expect a modern royal couple to be on their wedding day. Right down to the shared moment during the sermon and the impromtu second kiss on the balcony. That woman has more style in her little finger than I ever hope to possess in my lifetime. I was thrilled this morning. It brought back long-forgotten memories of the first real wedding I had ever seen, when Diana married Charles. I fell in love with weddings that day and the watching this couple say their vows today has only strengthened my personal love affair with the culture of the wedding.
It was a beautiful occasion, nicely done and everything it should have been. The dress was perfect for a royal wedding - it had character and was the ultimate in elegance and quality. I'm looking forward to seeing if and how brides and grooms will be using more trees than flowers in the months to come.
The streets over here have been so quiet today, it's as if the whole country stopped for a few hours to watch the wedding. But now - party time!
The Dress: Fantastic - beauitful, elegant, yet still detailed - just look at the back! It was hidden a bit beneath the veil, but the back side of the dress had some lovely details!
The Flowers: Perfect - it's Westminster Abbey - excessive flowers are completely unnecessary.
The Faces: I love all the little glances between William & Kate throughout the ceremony. They truly are in love.
All in all, I thought it was fabulous. Kate looked the part of a beautiful princess, about to live happily ever after.
I LOVED her dress - it was simple, classic, elegant, romantic... I could go on and on. Her makeup looked amazing (and she did it herself!), and the tiara (which is totally not my style) was so understated (in a good way). And I loved that she did not have a huge bouquet - I think it underscored her style - classic, elegant and chic. Completely obsessed!
Her dress is to die for, Sarah B for McQueen definitely captured the modern Princess bride that everyone wishes she could be. The dress was so romantic, yet old school and back of the dress was so modern. <3 Beautiful wedding NOT to mention the incredible well dress church crowd with their magnificant hats!! (and david beckham) haha
I'm speechless ... I didn't get to see the television specials this morning, so I'm getting up to speed in between work duties. The dress though - oh, it's everything it should have been! I am so proud and so happy for William and Kate. I expect great things of them, and I think everyone else does too!
I think she looked beautiful! Her dress was not boring. It was classic. I would have been disappointed if she had gone over the top frou frou.
Beautiful dress, Abbey looked stunning, loved the little looks passing between the two of them. Queen looked great ans so touching to see Camilla getting emotional. However, what on earth did Eugenie and Beatrice look like?
Simply stunning....I feel that William and Kate are the new faces of the royal family. And I love that!
I loved the Grace Kelley inspired dress, it was classic and moden all at the same time! The sutble hints to Englands history in the lace to the blue ribbon sewn into her dress were all wonderful. But the veil should have been longer - cathedral length in the least! I'm not sure I believe that she did her own makeup since reports have been saying she was "styled" by James Pryce and Richard Ward....if she did though, kudos.
The dress was brilliant! A design reminiscent of Grace Kelly's, another commoner who became royalty. Pippa's gown too, was to die for. They both couldn't have been any more lovey! Understated elegance at it's best. These two are setting the bar high. Bravo!
It was a modern day fairy tale. Something that will go down in history, will set trends for weddings to come. I loved every bit of it and it was perfect - I really don't think there was one flaw. The trees lining the first part of the aisle, her perfect lily of the valley bouquet, the hats in the crowd. Beyond amazing!
Definitly up to my expectations. A royal dress is not something easy as there are codes (long sleeved and so on) and I thought she was just gorgeous (spotted the Grace Kelly inspiration too). Loved the lace top, the simplicity and elegance of the line... the bouquet was so romantic and cute too (don't like big bouquets that hide the bride), and the earrings... and that veil !
And the trees and flowers in the abbey ? Perfect.
Didn't like so much the Queen's yellow outfit, the choice of a red uniform for William, and the princesses of York could have chosen smaller (lower at least) hats lol...
But Kate was definitly gorgeous :D
(can't speak about the emotion of the ceremony, missed that part :( )
Oh yeah and Pipa's dress ? WANT (with her silhouette please)
Stunning!! I thought it was the perfect mix of traditional and modern. And I actually fell in love with Pippa's dress! The older tradition of bridesmaids was for maids to wear white to deflect any men trying to kidnap the bride, so for the royal wedding I thought it was very appropriate. On a more personal note, my wedding is in two weeks and watching this morning certainly got me excited for my own!!
: )
The entire wedding, from the trees, to the dress, was magnificent. She looked breathtaking in her dress. She looked absolutely regal in her tiara, and that veil!!!! I loved how it fell on her. William looked dashing in his red uniform, too. There were, also, a lot of symbolism and understated details about the wedding that made it so unique and lovely. The maple trees represented humility and modesty; I feel that they gave the Abbey a breathtaking, and fresh look. This was so them-a true fairy tale. The love between them was so visible. I wish them the best in everything, and a happy marriage. :)
Loved all of it!! Modern and traditional perfection. I was stunned by the stunning yet regal simplicity of her dress. My favorite part was the kiss and my 2nd favorite was when Harry took a peek at Kate before even the groom. Just fabulous!
Katherine is nothing but loveliness and her choices perfect in every way... including her bouquet!
She was and looked absolutely perfect!! I cant get any better than that!
sorry..i meant She couldn't look any better than that!
I absolutely loved watching their wedding unfold early this morning. It's extremely heartwarming to watch two people who outwardly evoke so much love for each other profess their devotion to one another, royalty or not. You could tell they had the same nerves as any bride and groom. I loved watching the many many different styles of headwear, I really wish that was a trend that will catch on in the US. I though Catherine chose the perfect dress, it's very timeless and classic. With so many brides in the US opting for strapless, it's refreshing to see beautiful alternatives. I'm so glad she stuck with her own personal style by wearing her hair down and choosing a dress that was extravagant. I think they only thing I would have changed is the bouquet. The royal wedding was such a grand affair I would have choosen a larger bouquet. Although I do think the flower choices were spot on.
The dress was pretty, but I was expecting more. I didn't think it was anything better than I have seen on this site, but I guess she didn't really have to many options to go with.
Uber Grace Kelly. LOVE!
I thought Kate's Grace Kelly esque gown was lovely and that she looked really beautiful! I was expecting something a bit grander, I'll admit. At least a cathedral length veil and a more significant round bouquet. The guests fashions stole the show a little bit to me. And her sister looked FABULOUS. But overall it was beautiful, romantic, touching and I loved their meeting at the altar and the second kiss on the balcony!
I loved when Harry peeked at the bride before the groom too - and their smiles when you heard the cheer of the crowds after their vows.
Ok, one last thought. The trees inside Westminster were perfection! Reminded me of Preston Bailey's use of trees in his decor. Also, I agree with a commentator above, Vera Wang's ode to Grace Kelly for Ivanka Trump was actually more stunning to me than Sarah Burton's ode for Kate. However, in the end Kate was truly a beautfiul bride.
Okay, I have to differ with almost everyone here. I was so disappointed by her dress. I thought it looked stuffy and too old for her; I was expecting something fresh and chic, but still appropriate. To me, it looked like every other royal wedding gown I've ever seen. I thought Kate should have made more of a statement that would set her apart from everyone else. I also didn't think she looked as "royal" as she could have. And where were the smiles? They looked like they were at their own funeral. I was very underwhelmed. Sorry!
I loved the royal wedding! I thought Kate's style was elegant and unflustered. She managed to live up to all the expectations without overdoing it--formal, but not stuffy. I loved how her dress was so reminiscent of Grace Kelly's wedding gown! The lace sleeves were so gorgeous. Even Kate's bouquet was like Grace's. :) And William and Kate make such an adorable couple...
As for the trees in the abbey, I thought they were fantastic! They helped soften the look, give it a warm and natural feel contrasted with the stone columns.
What a perfect royal wedding!
I think this was the perfect dress for Kate! Simple, delicate, lovely... I wonder if longer sleeves are going to become the new trend. I'm getting married in the winter and kind of like it. We'll see!!!
I think she looked beautiful. Only issue is my dress (which has been ordered and paid for) is the top half but with cap sleeves. Everyone will think I'm a copy Kate!!!
Absolutely beautiful dress and veil - she got it right on, perfect length for the train as well.
Favourite moments: When Kate stepped out of the car, when Harry turned and looked at her and said to Will "wait till you see her," AND after Will tells Kate she looks beautiful, I love how Harry kept looking on at both of them, reading their reactions in the moment :) I wish both kisses had been a bit longer, but the nerves, of course! I also loved the sermon and hope they listened - a very similar sermon was told at Charles & Diana's wedding! And some of the fascinators and choir boys were hillarious :)
everything was absolutely, purely, simplistic and perfect.
LOVE the dress! I have been a fan of Alexander McQueen for a while now. But I have to say, I really dislike the flowers in the bouquet. They seem cheap. :/
What I loved most was how happy Kate looked. How pretty to see such a high profile wedding that still shows evidence of the true meaning of the day- the love between the couple. Such sweetness.
I wish them the best, they really look like the perfect match!, and I´m sure they had a beautiful, beautiful ROYAL day. In the end the most important thing is being surrounded of your loved ones and be filled with feelings of happiness and joy!
I absolutely loved the fact that she chose the flowers of her bouquet according to some special meaning!
Did we all watch the same weddding? 1950's style (?) dress mum's curtain for a veil and what looked like a plastic Pound Shop tiara, is that the best her Majesty could spare? Fergie's daughters well they need some serious fashion advice, what on earth was that thing on the poor girl's head, awful
I wasn't expecting a Big Fat Gypsy Wedding but this one had absolutely nothing to recommend it - hope they all have a good knees up though, they deserve a glass or three of Pomagne each Pam
Legends by Romona Keveza spring 2012 on martha stewarts site has an almost identical dress. So beautiful!
Absolutely a beautiful wedding!
From the moment Prince William and his brother Harry were on their way to Westminster Abbey to the long awaited kiss, I was captivated.
Kate's dress was as I expected. Not over the top. Understated elegance with a hint of a modern feel.
She looked absolutely STUNNING!!!!!
Loved when Harry turned to see Kate coming down the aisle and then turned to Will and said ..."Wait till you see her." Wow. Proud, proud brother.
Also when Prince William whispered to his bride, "You look beautiful". Again WOW. Heart melting!!!
I wish those that feel the need to oppose or criticize this event would stop.
Few things actually bring people together and create such a feeling of love and happiness for another person that we should just let that be. Enjoy the moment. Enjoy being a part of "their" moment.
I am sure Princess Diana was watching over her son. She was very much missed and very much a part of today's celebrations.
May Prince William and his new bride have a long and happy married life together!!!!!
Congratulations!
Kate looked absolutely stunning! That dress! Wow. Just classy, elegant and beautiful. The entire event was simply amazing to watch!
I haven't had a chance to watch the wedding yet but I've been ogling photos on the net all morning. LOVE her dress! Its elegant and modern but still modest enough to suit royalty. I thought her bouquet would be (and should have been) a little more eye catching though. Loved her earrings too and how they represented her new coat of arms.
there isn't one thing that I would change about the wedding, everything seemed liked a perfect reflection of who they are. One of my favorite moments was the car ride that she made with her father. I LOVED the trees and everything about the dress. I can't wait to visit London someday.
The dress was a little too traditional for my tastes, however as previous comments before has mentioned, she has a reputation to uphold and I'm sure royal expectations.
Mostly however I was disappointed with the head gear. I sort of expected something that would take everyone's breath away, which would follow her typical style.
It seems like her entire ensemble wasn't so much her as it was the royal expectations of her.
Honestly, I was really surprised and totally underwhelmed by her gown. I knew it had to be traditional and cover her arms, but I thought the styling would be unique, as she is such a fashionable young lady. The dress looked old-fashioned and dated; the lace was nothing to scream about either. The neckline was terrible for her slight frame; she would've been stunning in a bateau neckline.
And the bouquet!?!!? Too small, monochromatic, no texture, no style. This would've been the place to have a little fun, and she totally played it ridiculously safe.
Lots of hype for this event... bit of a letdown.
I loved everything about the day! What a beautiful and classy couple. Can't wait to see if she changes into another gown!!
We shared our top six favorite moments here:
http://ashtonevents.com/2011/04/a-royal-list/
All in all- What a gorgeous, understated beauty. WOW!
I wouldn't even describe her dress as simple, it was perfect and detailed in it's design. Clearly, it was designed with such intention. I agree, the dress was perfect because her stunning face was not drowning in an overdone dress design. Comparison to Grace Kelly? Kate looks so fresh, modern, the lace looked so light. She was glowing. I am impressed with how Will and Kate made this their day, their way.
My first reaction to her dress was how I loved the neckline and the lace. Part of me was expecting something over the top but I think we all knew she'd keep it simple. It was a quiet elegance. The more I think about it the more I love it. And Pippa's dress was stunning. I love that they went with white for her too. Totally complimented Kate's dress. With Pippa being the only adult walking down the isle behind Kate she almost would have stuck out in anything else.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the trees in Westminster Abbey.
totally agree w/ Kate Vanderglut, who commented above - Fave moments: 1) Harry to William "Wait til you see her" 2) William to Kate when she got up to the altar "I love you, you look beautiful" 3) Kate to William in the carriage "I'm so happy."
Just reading that comment made me tear up! Kate looked incredible, the dress is exceptionally made, fit her like a glove, and had just the right amount of drama. Her style perfectly walks the line between traditional and modern. I did agree with another commenter that the bouquet was underwhelming, perhaps some other simple white flower would've been better?? Regardless, she is indeed a modern day princess, and I loved how you can really tell those two genuinely love one another. Oh...Pippa rocked her look as well, total class all around!
I loved the dress. Elegant, timeless and appropriate for a royal wedding. There are some very important rules that need to be followed (check out www.vogue.co.uk for a more British view of the wedding).
To be honest, the naysayers here really make me shake my head. This is not your wedding day - this is their wedding day. Who are we to judge how they choose to celebrate it or adorn themselves? Kate's dress was beautiful, she was beautiful. William is in the RAF so what he wore was his dress uniform (something he can't change by the way). If you didn't like it who cares. The love was evident. William was trying so hard not to smile and he couldn't stop looking at Kate. Remember: a certain amount of decorum is expected at a royal wedding and English wedding traditions are very different from American traditions.
My favorite part? How they left Buckingham Palace. Who wouldn't want to leave their wedding in a classic Austin Martin convertible? Congratulations, William and Kate!
She looked simply stunning. She is a confident lady, not only did she stick to her guns and wore what she wanted to wear. It was such her style. She looked timeless, elegant, a dream.... It was not overdone, or underdone. It was perfect for her, what every wedding should be. William is a dream.....what a fairytale. Simply Magical!
I thought the kiss was a little underwhelming but also so adorable how awkward they were about it! I loved how they looked at each other and smirked! I thought she looked absolutely stunning and did a wonderful job blending her style with her new role into that dress. I can't stop looking at pictures even though I stayed up to watch it!
Love the photos! I went to join the crowds on The Mall so was dying to see The Dress - beautiful pics here! The atmosphere in London was amazing, loads of hats and fascinators in the crowd and people cheered for the cars as they were leaving for the abbey & massive cheers en route back to Buckingham Palace.
Seeing the kiss from in front of Buckingham Palace was beyond incredible as well - an amazing day!

My husband came with & took some gorgeous pics with his pro camera as well :) http://goo.gl/m27Wg
I was in awe. Seriuosly. it was so very exciting to watch. I felt like I was watching a fairytale movie. Catherine looked absolulty stunning in her dress. HOWEVER, yes I have a however. her bouqeut drives me nuts, it was way to plain. I wish it would have had some more color and could have been more interesting. I love that it was petite, but it lacked style big time to me. But other than that they are so ridiculously adorable together. Love is in the air and those two are madd for each other. I LOVE IT!
I LOVED IT! It was elegant, it was formal and and in some ways understated (it was not too in your face fashion forward), and it was vintage and classic. Kate is a real class act, and I believe her dress choice was not only representative of her exquisite style but it was also respectful of the tradtion and expectations of her family and of the royal family.
Her flowers were very much in keeping with who she is and where she is from, the English countryside. Being an event florist, the only thing I would have done differently on her bouquet would have been to incorporate a stem treatment in a gorgeous fabric and accented with some sort of family heirloom brooch or other jewel.
Kate looked gorgeous, obviously. I loved the top half of the dress, but was bored by the bottom half. If she wasn't going to wear something to highlight her outstanding figure, then the skirt should have at least had a bit more volume and drama.
PERFECTION!!!! She looked every bit the part of a Princess and I absolutely adored her dress!! So happy for them and can't wait to see what the rest of the day brings!!!
Who thinks she's got a second gown planned for later???
Such a beautiful bride!
In love with the sentiments of weddings!! I thought her dress was beautiful, although it was a bit more traditional than I thought she was going to choose: I was hoping for a fit and flare- but she looked ravishing!!! I'm in Arizona US and pulled an all nighter to see the event in it's entirety! Cuddled up on the couch with my wedding quilt that was hand made by my Great grandmother and finished by my Grandmother. Swooning over the images on screen and capturing them with my iPhone as a remembrance to show my kids one day- look kids Mommy stayed up all night, just me and a bowl of popcorn!! Loved it ALL!!
exceeded expectations!!!!!! I am still in awe!
Absolutely in LOVE with the simple, yet elegant style of dress she selected. It was perfect!
I Thought she looked absolutely amazing!
omg the second dress!!! i love how it's a glitz ballroom version of her wedding gown. Her figure is amazing.
I liked her clingy veil! Does anyone know where I can find one made out of the same fabric?
The dress could have been more interesting, more creative, and it could have made a whole new fashion era! BUT was totally SAFE!
She is breath-taking. Classic, understated and stunning.
xo
I'm thinking that as long as she and her groom are 100% faithful to each other and have a lifetime of a truly loving, healthy marriage filled with respect and growing tenderness for each other, then, that's what matters--- especially if they can find it in their hearts to always sincerely thank God for the gift of each other!!! In the end, no bride's dress is what matters most one way or the other, when a marriage begins (gasp! shock!). :) I hope they spend their lives focusing on what is truly important, and not on the things that soooo easily distract. And if on their wedding day she and he both feel gorgeous and THEY both love how each other looks, then good for them. That's focus & advice that I'm aiming to follow for my upcoming wedding day & marriage.
Spot on style! What a gorgeous bride and what a perfect, PERFECT dress! She couldn't have looked more radiant or royal in anything else. Truly a princess for a new generation!
Loved Pippa's maid of honor look.
I thought the royal wedding was touching and so well done, and Kate truly looked like a Disney princess with such classic grace, elegance and stunning beauty! I loved every moment and you can see the love between them...it is adorable!
Liesl :)
Kate looked classically beautiful and elegant. It's nice to see that she didn't wear a strapless dress like most brides tend to do. She had simple elegance and the combination of the soft long sleeved lace & structured body was gorgeous!

I LOVED it! She looked amazing and it all went so smoothly
I loved when William said 'I love you' and 'You look beautiful'
so cute
bluejasminevodka.blogspot.com
Her look was predictable but absolutely amazing! It was in her style - classic and a little bit modest. Yesterday she became a real Princess!
Such a lovely wedding it was! Brilliant post!
The whole thing has been absolutely spellbinding! So sophisticated and yet simple... I think that as Royal as the event was, LOVE was the true protagonist... how refreshing to watch... the gorgeous couple and their heartfelt emotion have been the absolute protagonists of this fairy tale wedding.
I can't say I'm fond of the gown but considering the protocol's restrictions she certainly picked something elegant and classy, which is what she appears to be. I have absolutely adored the simple bouquet and the length of the veil... the overall look was perfectly well balanced in order to let this radiant bride shine! She looked confortable in her own skin and free to be herself at her best and happiest.
I have been looking forward to marry my Prince for months now, and this made me even more impatient!
I thought she looked stunning, though I thought the dress was perhaps a bit too close to Grace Kelly's and could have been slightly more interpreted. But she looked gorgeous and happy.
My only complaints were her bouquet, and I thought her eye makeup/brows were too heavy and dark for a bride. I prefer the softer pink/blush look. But I guess she did her own so that's sweet :)

Don't understand why we British have to pay so much attention to the wedding of this useless couple? i mean they contribute so-so to our world so they r just like other normal ppl. We r equal in that sense, aren't we? this wedding is just a waste of everything! We should pay more attention to other sane things.
I absolutely love her dress. She portrayed how lace can be the center of attention—no sequins, beading, or other frills. It was so classy and timeless. And I love that it had sleeves! So many dresses are strapless now, and I love the sleeves.
OH KATE (or the Dutchess if you will) was GORGEOUS..... but... and there is only ONE but...
Her bouquet was disappointing. Maybe something a little fuller? maybe?
Did anyone else get a bit of a 'Sound of Music' vibe?
i got totally absorbed in this wedding, super proud to be british on friday!
LOVED< LOVED< LOVED THE VEIL!!! My total dream veil in real life. :)
Honestly, I thought she looked amazing and very lovely. But, I wish she and her designer had invented a bridal gown based on her style and unlike any other, just for her, as this wedding will be in the history books. She has such classic style already, I am sure something could have been designed with a little more 'wow' factor, and a little more original. Even though it appears modelled after Grace Kelly's dress, GK's dress had a 'I am a glamourous, hollywood, royal princess' look. I felt like Kate's dress was missing that glamour factor. Even her headpiece looked like it was simply draped over her head, and I think her hair/veil combination was too simple and plain.
I think the thing that bothers me the most is that now everyone will refer to Kate's dress as the Grace Kelly dress. I wish she had been more original.
Kinda late but wanted to give my 2 cents! As a total anglophile, I thought the whole thing from start to finish was absolutely breathtaking. Yes, I love the dress... it was perfect, loved the trees, loved all the hats... but what I loved most was all the tradition. THAT'S what made it royal. From the way she held his hand, to the music... oh the music! I already downloaded it all on itunes. Yes, I admit that I have already watched it like 10 times. Best reality TV ever!!
I adored Kate's dress and loved every bit of the royal wedding...absolute perfection!
I am very late to comment here but I had to say that I am completely astounded that anyone thinks the dress was a let-down. Look at the detailing - it has mcqueen written all over it, but adapted to suit royal protocol - the exaggerated hip line, the bustle, the perfect tailoring in the folds of the dress leading down to the train. Couture! The lace detailing featured the four emblems of the UK and was pure craftsmanship. Remember also there was all sorts of negativity about the excess of a royal wedding in the middle of a recession, hence the relatively moderate train length (in comparison with Diana, for example) and the understated elegance. I could go on and on... I thought she got it bang on and she looked absolutely stunning.
I loved the whole day from beginning to end - this day made us so proud to be British with all the pomp and ceremony like nothing else. I loved the gown, the bridesmaids gowns, the MOB's outfit - all effortlessly elegant and beautiful. I just wish her hair had been a little more adventurous. A beautiful lady fit for a King.
It was a perfect wedding. Everything from the start till the end was incredible and they looked really happy. I thought that the wedding dress could not have been more appropriate than this. I loved everything about it and everything about the entire wedding!!!
I absolutely adored the wedding! Duchess Catherine (to be honest, I am still a bit bummed that it isn't Princess Catherine) looked unbelievably flawless! With each passing day I adore her gown more & more! Such an elegant and graceful beauty! Westminster Abbey was the perfect English garden and as for Prince William--what a loving and kind Groom! Out of the whole lovely day, I enjoyed watching the Bride & Groom exchange all those looks of love (and two kisses!) best of all! Well done!
I Thought she looked absolutely amazing! I loved when William said 'I love you' and 'You look beautiful. She looked simply stunning. She is a confident lady, not only did she stick to her guns and wore what she wanted to wear. Totally complimented Kate's dress. With Pippa being the only adult walking down the isle behind Kate she almost would have stuck out in anything else.
She looks gorgeous...as always...her veil is so sweet...fab wedding!!
I love the petit floral arrangement and have tried to use cascades in my own work (see www.kokofloraldesign.com) if your curious. Not often seen in America, but small cascades are really hip!
