I have a huge soft spot in my wedding loving heart for backyard weddings. Perhaps because the first wedding story I ever fell in love with, my parents, had a sweet backyard setting. Regardless, there is something timeless and sentimental about opening your home to celebrate something so wonderful, and when you add sweet details on top of that well, you get a wedding like this one by Henry Photography. This is just a snippet of the sweetness, be sure to check out the full gallery for even more.

From the Bride… After almost 9 years of dating, we were more than excited to start planning for our special day. For our early September wedding, we really wanted a laid back, natural, chic, and magical setting for our guests to enjoy. Tanner and I both love the outdoors, so the idea of our ceremony and reception taking place outside in the country sounded perfect for us.

The ceremony took place at Clary Gardens in our hometown of Coshocton, Ohio. It is a quaint garden with garden houses, beautiful landscaping, and a breathtaking sandstone amphitheater. The moment we saw the venue, we knew it was the right place. Our reception was held at Tanner’s parents house out in the country. The setting was so peaceful and laid back, and the evening air was cool and refreshing. We couldn’t have asked for better weather that day! We had an outdoor tent that twinkled with white lights and vintage iron and paper lanterns. All of the small details that went into the reception all came together so perfectly thanks to the help of all of our talented family and friends. Being a design student it made it much less expensive by designing a lot of the smaller details myself and with the help of our artistic friends. We couldn’t have done it all with out them!

We both love antiques, so we had to include some vintage details at the reception from mason jars, vases and cake plates to wooden crates and beautifully crafted wooden iceboxes which we served all of the beverages from. It was such a fun evening and we loved every minute of it. We want to do it again!
