New Jersey Wedding by Jen Causey Photography

If there is one wedding tradition that I am completely smitten with, it would be the “wedding parade”. There is just something so joyous and magical about marching through the streets with all your loved ones on your way to celebrate your brand spankin new marriage. So you can imagine my excitement when I spotted this New Jersey wedding boasting not only a wedding parade but an equally magical backyard garden party. Oh be still my heart. All of it was captured to sheer perfection by Jen Causey Photography and there is even more of this whimsical celebration to pore over in the gallery.

New Jersey Wedding 7

see all the details from this New Jersey bash here!

I had always dreamed of having a backyard wedding in my small beach town of Manasquan, NJ. We had an amazing tent in our backyard and the party came to life. We got married at a church across from my parent’s house, officiated by the groom’s father. It was really special and personal. The church was just across the street so our guests and the bride and groom paraded to the reception with handmade “Just Married” signs in tow. I knew that I always wanted to create a lot of special details that our guests would remember! We created a foosball table. We bought a used foosball table and worked to make the little people look like brides and grooms. Our guests had a great time playing during the reception! I created a photo booth using a fabric backdrop and a Polaroid camera! Our guests took fun pictures of themselves and put them in our guest book with special notes for us that we will cherish forever. For the centerpieces, I scoured antique shops and thrift stores as well as enlisted our friends to find eclectic glass bottles in clear, blue and purple. The bottles went down the center of our long tables and my mom and I arranged wildflowers in the bottle to create a natural, “just picked” look!

Everything is really gorgeous and trendy in its own way but you need to take some other factors into mind as well, like i was so worried about my wedding day and could not jot down all the ideas that i got in my mind. Its better to first get your ideas on paper mentioning what you want to do and what NOT.

Wow, I love this wedding- it's so beautiful and thoughtfully put together! It's definitely the vibe that I'm hoping to achieve. The details are all so great and that foosball table is just so adorable! I can't even imagine how long that took. I'd love to find out where the table numbers are from (are they cookie cutters?) and who designed those amazing menus.

  12. Alison says:

Beautiful Wedding! Where did you get the menu card holders? The wood with the metal clip, I've been looking for something like that.

Alison I found the little bird holders at a home store in nj and hot glued them to birch rounds we cut from my mother in law 's yard

I absolutely love all of these pictures - what an amazing wedding! I love the color of the bridesmaids dresses, I've been looking on the J Crew website at those dresses in silk taffeta for my bridesmaids in our upcoming wedding... Paige, which color is that that you chose? Do you remember the name of it?

    Thanks so much!!

  24. Kelly says:

Hi does anyone know what color the bridesmaid dresses are? My girls are wearing fawn from Jcrew and I was wondering if that is what those are? I hope so! Love them!

  25. Paige says:

    Kristina & Kelly,

Thank you !! The bridesmaids' dresses are actually fatigue. J.Crew is not making those dresses in that color anymore unfortunately. I guess it was last season. But all of their dresses are so beautiful. I love the muted colors!
