We haven’t talked about color palettes (a.k.a. wedding colors) in a long long time! But when this wedding fell into our lap, oh boy! The colors simply blew us away! ummmm…. a virtual explosion! Bold and sassy, while remaining romantic and fresh. From Modern Bouquet ~ a profusion of loveliness!

From Kristeen LaBrot … From the moment Hillary first described their wedding, I knew this was going to be fun. They wanted their wedding to be a unique mixture of the country and the beach since Hillary grew up around the ocean and Matt’s a mountain guy. In Hillary’s words, she wanted their wedding to evoke the feelings of “a country home with the ocean as the backyard.” Scripps Seaside Forum in La Jolla was the perfect location. The ceremony took place with an ocean backdrop on a big green grass lawn. Guests sipped iced tea and cocktails, and munched on cheeses from around the world. At the reception, each table had it’s own unique mix of floral arrangements displayed in vintage glass bottles which popped against the ice blue shantung silk linens. The seating arrangements on multicolored fabric squares were hung on vintage wooden shutters. The guest book was a thumbprint tree with a sign asking guests to “please leaf your thumbprint.” The bride and groom are both world travelers and huge foodies so they chose to have Thai, Indian AND Mexican food stations. Sliders and fries were served as a late night snack followed by It’s it ice cream sandwiches, ending the night on a sweet note.

Love the theme here. The purple looks so cool and refreshing and the wedding dress is so lovely. Thanks for the inspiration!
Such a beautiful weeding! I love the thumbprint tree idea. Can you tell me where you got your tree? Thanks.
Can I say that I love the idea of the family tree done with thumbprints. Really cool idea.
Hillary and Matt's wedding is still one of my favorites! For those asking about the guestbook tree, I designed it for them in Photoshop and they had it mounted on foamcore at Kinkos. The ink was purchased from Michael's.
LOOOOVE the plum / purple palette. These were my wedding colours too for my San Diego wedding, and it's so great to see how another bride decorated with the same colours at a waterfront locale. Altho I am wildly jealous over her shoes. I couldn't manage to find the perfect plum sandals I desperately wanted. Hers are just lovely!
The thumb guestbook tree is a really intriguing / unique idea - I've never seen anything like it before. What a wonderfully creative idea.
The guestbook tree was one of our favorite things!! Thanks for the fantastic comments! The days was incredible ;)
I love the plums!!
What an awesome guestbook idea!! Love the bright colors used throughout the wedding!!
LOVE the colors in this wedding...beautiful!
This truly was 'their wedding' in terms of the bold, fun, mellow yet fearless way it was represented. Kristeen La Brot did an amazing job and deserves a hug and high five for all of her countless inspirational ideas and execution from Save The Date Cards to Dessert ideas. She is WELL worth the money which actually saves you $$ in the end. Because of Kristeen's ingenuity, Hillary told me that she spent less and enjoyed more. :)
Congrats once again to Matt & Hill for a beautiful beginning to an already beautiful couple!
What a fun theme! The flowers appear to have matched so well to the fun mood created by the theme. And the expressions on everyone's face are evidence that the mood was felt by those attending. Great job! Jill (http://www.bidflowers.com )
Wow....awesome idea...i just love purple flowers as the wedding flowers.
LOVE LOVE the guest book idea! I"ve never seen anything like that here.
