Jackie, Nick and their families were such a pleasure to work with! You would have never known it was raining cat and dogs on their wedding day…and at The Wildflower Center no less! Their completely outdoor wedding changed on a moments notice as tents had to be brought in and with the ceremony and cocktail reception moving indoors. The wedding party handled everything with such grace it made the wedding that much more beautiful!

The colors were aubergine and apple green. The bridesmaids’ bouquets were in shades of purple composed of anemones, tulips and swet peas. The brides bouquet was in all white adorned with vintage family brooches.

The ceremony was held in the ampitheater making is dramatic and romantic. The cocktail reception took place in the gallery with jazz group The Lucky Strikes playing. Dinner was held under a tent with purple venetian chandeliers – table flower arrangements had an organic feel using manzanita branches and hanging candles.

The bride and groom live in Alaska and brought the most northern state down south by having Alaskan beer, serving Baked Alaskan Pies for dessert and having “Alaskan Snow Ball” (aka cake balls) as favors.

The night ended on a high note with the bride and groom leaving in a vintage Rolls Royce with a trail of fireworks a la My Best Friends Wedding!

  3. I love the mirrored seating chart. Very creative! Was it DIY!

  4. Lisam says:

I just love the picture of the groom and his groomsmen. That looks totally fun.

  5. Sarah Miller says:

The seating chart is simply a mirror we purchased from Pottery Barn that we had hand calligraphied. After the event, we removed the writing and the mirror now hangs in the couple's home!

  6. Sharon says:

O how i love the mirrored table numbers - what a brilliant idea! Where did you find the mirror squares??

  7. The mirrored table numbers are mirrors that we purchased at Hobby Lobby. A calligrapher did the numbers!

  8. Linnea says:

    Awesome Seating Chart!!! Love it.

  9. Jenifer says:

What size are the squares for the table numbers? Did you use 4 inch or 6 inch squares?

  2. [...] I am a fireworks fanatic—New Year’s Eve, the Fourth of July, baseball games…in my opinion, any occasion is a good occasion for fireworks. And really, could there be a better time for fireworks than a wedding send-off? If you have the money to spend, a platinum splurge is definitely wedding fireworks, a la this classy affair on Style Me Pretty. [...]

  3. [...] Check out this amazing mirrored seating chart.  I spotted it on Wedding Memoirs who had spotted it on Style Me Pretty (I love the way the Wedding Blog community works – if something is gorgeous and you miss it the first time around you are sure to see it somewhere else).  While in Nairobi seating charts are rare and everyone tends to sit wherever and with whomever they feel like, mirrors can be used many other ways as decor – think under the cake, as centrepieces, as a sign board directing guests to your ceremony or reception.  Really with a mirror and a dry erase pen, your imagination is the limit. (this couple also used mirrors as part of their centrepieces, with the table numbers on them) And the best part, if you purchase the mirror(s) yourself you can take them home with you at the end of the day and use them as part of your home decor.  You can check out more beautiful photos from this wedding at Style Me Pretty [...]
