I have to admit, it was the bride alone that took my breath away when I first laid eyes on this wedding. Aside from being crazy beautiful, she’s got this 1920′s vibe that is so utterly romantic, so insanely lovely. But when I looked a little further and read the story that she sent me, it was the way that this pair approached their wedding that really left the lasting impression. I don’t want to spoil the fun so I’ll just tell you that Sean Flanigan’s photography only elevated the already beautiful, vintage inspired wedding style that the couple infused into each and every detail. And there is so much more, right here.

PJ and I are two old souls. Whether it looks old, smells old or is old–we’re totally into it. For us, our wedding was about creating a celebration which was a unique blend of our love for each other, and our love for the past. Every detail, every decoration, and every doily were collected from antique stores, thrift shops, and garage sales throughout the Northwest. (I also might have raided my four grandma’s closets, jewelry boxes, photo albums, etc. for research purposes of course.) I like to think we were attempting to create the beginning of our story by melding together the short stories of others pasts.
This melding, however, was less of a quaint vision, and more of a family affair. Thanks to my brilliant wedding planning guru at Plume (oh right, my mom), my step father’s innovative graphic design work, my grandmother’s floral business, Shades of Green, and the assortment of friends and family who spent their late evenings gluing books shut, stamping tags and tying up 45 batches of homemade Mama Donna Roca (yes that’s my other grandma)–this day came to pass in an effortless, beautiful fashion.
What I found truly memorable about that day wasn’t the nervous song PJ played for me after we saw each other for the first time, or even the gentle first kiss he laid on my hand when I reached him at the end of aisle. Rather, it was the smile that ceased to leave my lips; knowing that the love PJ and I had for each other was reciprocated by each and every person in attendance; knowing that this day happened because of their help, love and support; and knowing that I had the love of the man of my dreams. The rest was just icing on the cake. Really extraordinary icing mind you, but just icing.

the books on the table are so gorgeous! and her hair and veil totally make the look. so pretty!
GORGEOUS. As much as I love modern, contemporary wedding style vs. frilly, fluffy, pastel-y looks, this wedding just strikes a chord with me. Lovely couple too!
So vintage lovely!!
Love this! Love love love.
Where did she get those greeen shoes? Love them!

I think they are last season though, so harder to find now online.
Where are the bridesmaid dresses from?!?!?!
What a gorgeous GORGEOUS wedding! Where is that beautiful veil from?
The bridesmaid dresses we are wearing are by max and cleo. Surprisingly comfortable and flattering on all 10 of us!
Is the bride planning on selling her dress?
aaw, those are my beautiful friends! and it was a great wedding, to boot.
What an amazing wedding! The bride is so gorgeous. I love the BMs dresses and how it looks with the bouquets :)
This is so tender and sweet. There is a fragility in these pictures that draws me in and makes me want to be in the moment too before it passes. Heirloom images I would say! Absolutely gorgeous!
WOW! This wedding is SO stunning. It blows my mind. And in the Northwest...love it!
What an absolutely gorgeous wedding! I also LOVE Mom's dress - can you tell me where I might find it?
I want to know where the Mom's dress is from too! :)
Thank you to everyone for all of the lovely comments! :) I will try to answer some of the questions people have posed. The shoes are indeed Seychelles, bought them from their website! My veil is from a boutique in Burien, WA called Unique Bridal. She will make anything you want, headpiece, jewelry, etc. I am not planning on selling my dress...sorry it is way too special to me! :) My mom's dress is French Connection, and I believe she ordered it online form Nordstrom. I'm fairly certain they don't have any more because of the season change. But it is worth a try! Thanks again for all of the compliments, I'm truly flattered!
where are your bridesmaids shoes from? LOVE THEM as well as the dresses!
The bridesmaid shoes are from Aldo!
The styling and vision for this wedding moved me, and all our staff at Sodo Park (we hosted the reception portion). I happened to sneak a peak while Gillian's mom was doing her finishing touches in the room. So often I get excited and inspired by how people style their room. In this case, I actually forgot about everything I was supposed to be doing because I had that darn shiver-tickle lump rise in my throat (the one you get before tears come to your eyes)...Anyway, I was somewhere else for awhile that afternoon because of Plume's styling. It felt like a different time and place where nothing else mattered. Thanks for the inspiration--Plume nailed it. And Sean created equally stunning pictures.
Hey just so you all know Plume now has a website that is a work in progress. Here is the link: http://plumeweddings.com/
Gillian - I am 4 months out from my wedding and was hoping to have a hairstyle similar to yours. I've had a trial today but it's not quite turned out the same - could you let me know how yours was done?
This New York couple returned to their native northwest roots, along with an amazing ensemble of wondererful people to celebrate what was a perfect vintage themed wedding. It was an honor to have furnished their gentlemen's formal attire. The photographer did an excellent job in capturing their private moments. Brilliantly done! Cheers!
Hey Laura...Sorry I haven't been checking the post in a while. I don't know if you will get this, but my hair was done with a triple barrel roller (for the top) like this: http://s1.folica.com/img/product/0/004790/main/gold-n-hot-gold-triple-barrel-waver-278x278.jpg
Good luck!
