Florida Fete by Weddings by Socialites

For someone whose heart is generally only taken hostage by an all white wedding…lately, I seem to be craving color. Really cool interpretations of color. Like this next little number…filled to the brim with THE most gorgeous coral and mint accents a girl has ever seen. All perfectly designed and executed by Kelly McWilliams of Weddings by Socialites. This wedding is the epitome of girly style and one that I am definitely bookmarking as a new fav. Oh and the cake by Kakes by Karen? Beyond. See more of the perfect details (because there are a ton!) all photographed by Deborah Cull in the gallery.

This destination wedding was at South Seas Island Resort on Captiva Island, Florida. The seaside wedding is full of striking floral, such as peonies, roses, and orchids in various shades of white and coral. Accenting pearl shells and coral pieces flowed throughout both the ceremony and reception. The bridal party also enjoyed posing with the parasols during pictures that were later available for guests.

The overall theme of the wedding was Coral (both in color and sea coral) and paperbag brown.  We used the paperbag brown from start to finish, from the save the date and invitation envelopes to the to-go late night munchies. The girls got ready in The Presidents room.  Jenn did hair & makeup while they enjoyed a getting ready “tea sandwich” lunch

Arielle and Jason did a first glance before the Ketubah signing so that we could do all the photos before the ceremony, and they could enjoy the cocoktail hour.  We had planned the ceremony for the Kings Crown Lawn and sure enough, as soon as it was time to go…the storm clouds rolled in.  We went back and forth between using the indoor back up space, but eventually decided to go for it.  Well, there was quite a lighting show during the ceremony.  Jason stepped on the glass, we all screamed Mazel Tov and then made a run for the dining room.  The clouds broke open literally as the last guest got inside.

Rather than the typical buffet or plated dinner, we planned an interactive dinner that included some family style, some stations, and some butlered items.  Pretty much, just food everywhere and of every type. Guest were seated at Grand tables (8′x5′) of 10-12 guests (with the exception of the wedding party table of 20).  After dinner we had toasts by the best man, maid of honor, and the newlyweds.  Then we cut the cake and went right into the 1st dance inside Kings Crown Lounge (“At Last” by Etta James) followed by the father daughter dance, and mother son to “What A Wonderful World” by Louis Armstrong & Mother- Son: “ Have I Told You Lately” by Rod Stewart.  After a bit of partying we had the traditional Hora dance and even with the low ceilings, the bride and groom went up!

It was a great night of dancing.  Towards the end of the evening we changed over the displayed dinner items to the take away table of mini burgers, mini grilled cheese, chicken fingers, and french fries. Guests loaded their custom paperbag boxes with the goodies and then took the wedding trolley back to their hotel rooms right after the sparkler getaway.

Hello, gorgeous wedding! I absolutely love the colors!

And I have a pretty specific question, and if anyone has any ideas, they would must certainly be appreciated - where can I find ties like the one the groom is wearing? I'm having the hardest time finding pretty ties in that color!

Heidi - the bridesmaids' dresses look like the silk chiffon Taryn dresses from J Crew. (In dusty shale, perhaps?)

What a gorgeous combination of colors and elements - I love how the flowers play off of the coral theme. Those vases lining the aisle (looks like they have sand and water anchoring the beautiful stems!) are so beautiful and different!

Arielle, your wedding was just simply beautiful. Buffy and I have a lovely collection of photos from the event and as nice as the photos are above, they don't capture the full magnificence of your wedding. You look radiant!

Thanks so much everyone for the wonderful comments! We had such a wonderful time planning the wedding and were lucky enough to work with some AMAZING wedding pros. My wedding day turned out even better than I had dreamed!

To answer a few questions: the bridesmaids dresses were in fact the J. Crew Taryn dress in dusty shale and the ties were from Banana Republic.

Finding the right location to have a unique wedding, it means much more than it is given credit. Therefore, the choice of location should not be just any part in organizing a wedding, but the key to a day to remember.

And I was one of the lucky ones who experienced this fanciful wedding weekend. Having known Arielle from literally the day she was born, I knew it would be a memorable time, and it was! I think Arielle's dress is my favorite of all wedding dresses, including my own! As the clouds were rolling in during the ceremony, a large bird (osprey?) appeared in a pine tree near by. Nature has a way of saying, "everything is perfect."

Beautiful!! We are getting married at the same location in May, and I'm so happy to have stumbled across these photos. Where did you find the bags for the goodies!? I've been searching high and low for bags just like that with NO luck! Beautiful wedding, and a beautiful couple, Congratulations!
