Los Angeles Wedding by Bash, Please

August 31st. 2010 by Emilia Jane | Filed Under | 67 comments

Are you sitting down?  You may want to because this next wedding from Raya Carlisle and designed by the wedding dream duo Bash, Please is out of this world.  My favorite weddings are those that show off a couple’s unique style and this one is full of personality.  It is an explosion of color and crazy fun.  I am amazed how they transformed the Temescal Gateway Park into a vibrant, vivacious wonderland and the perfect setting for this joyful extravaganza.  Make sure to check out the gallery for even more sweet inspiration! xoxo, Emilia Jane

From Paige of Bash, Please -

Michelle and Matt had the most playful and fun vision for their wedding. They threw out tradition (cake cutting, bouquet tossing, traditional decor) and went for a whimsical, heartfelt celebration that included lots of color, confetti, and charm. We used a mix of ConfettiSystem, paper poms, pinwheels, and homemade tissue garland decor to create a stage backdrop, photo booth, and a sweets table design. The florals on the dinner tables echoed the paper poms we had hanging from the ceiling. Big dahlias and mums in lots of happy colors. It felt like high school prom! They also wrote a humorous song that they sang in lieu of a first dance.  From the beginning of the ceremony till the last dance their guests were joyful, giddy, and smiling their faces off. It is what every wedding should be like in spirit. We had a blast working with this sweet couple, truly dream clients who take their love seriously and their fun just as seriously. When we look at the photos we are still giddy inside.

From the bride, Michelle -

When I first visited Temescal Gateway Park, I felt an instant connection. The place is practically in our backyard but as you walk through the oak and sycamore canyons, you feel miles away from bustling L.A.  I mean, we got ready in cabins! It’s just like camp!  On the day of the wedding, the natural setting was so dreamy: sunlight peeking through trees, leaves rustling in the soft wind.  Matt and I can come back at any time in our lives to hike or picnic and say with giddy nostalgia, “Hey, remember when we got married here?!”

Everyone kept telling us that the wedding was so us, which to me, is the best possible compliment. We incorporated details that made us excited and left out those that didn’t. Our first dance was to the Glee version of “My Life Would Suck Without U.” We sang a “first song”(our own rendition of Adam Sandler’s “Grow Old With You”).

It was an amazing feeling to step back, look around and think that after all those months of planning, this is it. This is everything I envisioned and more.  It was a lovely, lovely day.

The bridesmaid dresses were on sale for $15 at H&M.

As the Father of the Bride, I thought you were out of your mind when I first heard your wedding plans. What?... No wedding cake! An, outdoor wedding in August? This was going to be a disaster. But, I am glad that you proved me to be absolutely wrong. It was the most beautiful and perfect event that I can imagine. Congratulations to both of you.

Michelle, I like that you are proud of your $15.00 H&M dresses and $5.00 sandals (they actually would have cost more but they were defectived and you insisted that Forever 21 sell them to you.) We raised you well. Love you both.

Gorgeous wedding! Wanted to ask: is this at Temescal Park (near Pali High, off of Sunset and Tesmecal)? Did you only use the outdoor grassy area or did you also rent an indoor venue? I'm in love with Stewart Hall, but am even afraid to ask for a price quote!

    Thanks!

OMG I think I'm your wedding twin! My engagement ring looks EXACTLY yours - also inspired by Tiffany Bezet and a few other round bezel styles, custom-made by a Dallas jeweler. I'm getting married next year and my vision is so similar to yours - big pink and yellow flowers, dahlias, mums, gray suit for my groom, cupcake tower and dessert table. Fun and whimsical feel, mine will probably a bit more modern too though. I'm definitely bookmarking your wedding for ideas!!! :) Congrats on a wonderful wedding!

I have invariably believed that the most effective approach to loose weight swiftly is to simply reprogram your life-style. What I really mean is, should you really would like or need to lose some pounds, then you've to make one critical choice - am I going to do this or aren't I? As soon as you have made your mind up, and you're fully committed to your success, then next to nothing can stop you.
