Bash, Please
Are you sitting down? You may want to because this next wedding from Raya Carlisle and designed by the wedding dream duo Bash, Please is out of this world. My favorite weddings are those that show off a couple’s unique style and this one is full of personality. It is an explosion of color and crazy fun. I am amazed how they transformed the Temescal Gateway Park into a vibrant, vivacious wonderland and the perfect setting for this joyful extravaganza. Make sure to check out the gallery for even more sweet inspiration! xoxo, Emilia Jane

From Paige of Bash, Please -
Michelle and Matt had the most playful and fun vision for their wedding. They threw out tradition (cake cutting, bouquet tossing, traditional decor) and went for a whimsical, heartfelt celebration that included lots of color, confetti, and charm. We used a mix of ConfettiSystem, paper poms, pinwheels, and homemade tissue garland decor to create a stage backdrop, photo booth, and a sweets table design. The florals on the dinner tables echoed the paper poms we had hanging from the ceiling. Big dahlias and mums in lots of happy colors. It felt like high school prom! They also wrote a humorous song that they sang in lieu of a first dance. From the beginning of the ceremony till the last dance their guests were joyful, giddy, and smiling their faces off. It is what every wedding should be like in spirit. We had a blast working with this sweet couple, truly dream clients who take their love seriously and their fun just as seriously. When we look at the photos we are still giddy inside.
From the bride, Michelle -
When I first visited Temescal Gateway Park, I felt an instant connection. The place is practically in our backyard but as you walk through the oak and sycamore canyons, you feel miles away from bustling L.A. I mean, we got ready in cabins! It’s just like camp! On the day of the wedding, the natural setting was so dreamy: sunlight peeking through trees, leaves rustling in the soft wind. Matt and I can come back at any time in our lives to hike or picnic and say with giddy nostalgia, “Hey, remember when we got married here?!”
Everyone kept telling us that the wedding was so us, which to me, is the best possible compliment. We incorporated details that made us excited and left out those that didn’t. Our first dance was to the Glee version of “My Life Would Suck Without U.” We sang a “first song”(our own rendition of Adam Sandler’s “Grow Old With You”).
It was an amazing feeling to step back, look around and think that after all those months of planning, this is it. This is everything I envisioned and more. It was a lovely, lovely day.
