Hi, I'm getting married in October and since I'm not very good with handiwork, my personal touch will be singing a song for my husband-to-be at the reception!
We are using our first names throughout our wedding decor and this would be so cute to tie in with everything!
I love the Paloma's Nest ring bowls! We're planning on doing a lot of little DIY touches to put our personal stamp on the little details.
We have so many ways that we are personalizing our wedding. One way is by writing our own vows. The second is by making a donation to the Australian Shephered Dog Rescue instead of favors. This charity is near and dear to heart as one of our dogs, Chelsi is from the Aussie Rescue. She brighten my fiance and I's life everyday!
My bff is getting married in two weeks- and I would love to win those hangers for her! Her "personal stamp" is that they are having a person making handmade fresh mozzarella to honor their Italian heritage :)
<3 Cara
Hi there! I am getting married in October in Nashville on the most amazing rooftop overlooking downtown. I love to work with my hands so I decided to handpaint our banners. I am inspired by the Adele Lamour linen from BBJ we are using for our cake table and I am going to incorporate the silhouette of some of the flowers with the "R" for Ryan in the design.
Thanks
Alana
My fiancé is lucky enough to be really good friends with a big-name sports radio personality in our city. We're going to have him announce the wedding party coming into the reception and put a cute sports touch on it...things like "At 5'10", weighing in at 180 pounds, the long-time confident of the groom, the best man...enter name here!!!"
I am getting married next August and already in motion of putting our personal stamp on everything!!! Our friends and family are so important to us so my favorite thing is including others in our special day. My best friend is drawing our invitations for us! My Fiancé's mother is baking our dessert! My father is driving me up to the ceremony in our old camaro! I love personal little details and would love these!!
Cake will be a family recipe, and have both families serve the cake to the guests!
Hi - I would love to win this for a young girl I work with - we are having her wedding at our house to help her with cost and have the wedding she wants. Her family will not be able to attend due to cost of traveling and we would like to make this as special as possible for her. I would love to be able to give this to her!!!
Thanks....
We're getting married on January 8, 2011! My fiance and I are planning on creating custom-made bobble heads for the groomsmen. It's a great way to show we care and will make for some create conversation during the rehearsal dinner and wedding!
My fiance and I are getting married in May and are using our long engagement (over a year) to make our wedding day reflective of who we are. Rather than rent sterile looking linens for the reception, we decided to buy various prints of fabric and sew 200 napkins, table cloths and runners. We are also making CDs for our give aways compiled of songs that reflect our relationship-the cd cases are also hand sewn cloth envelopes =) We loved the look of dessert tables with cute cake stands, but rather than spend a fortune renting them, we scoured thrift stores and used heavy duty glue to attach vintage plates to bud vases to make our own dessert platters!
I have always been a quote girl. Quotes mean the world to me. Paloma's nest has found the perfect way to display a quote in an heirloom fashion. I love them and would love to win this giveaway!
Oh man, I can't even think of anything in our wedding that DOESN'T have a personal stamp on it! Probably my favorite project so fr has been our "picture wall." In leiu of a picture slideshow, we have a verrrrry long wall of windows in our venue and we are lining the hall with pictures from our families (dating all the way back to the 1800s!) strung on baker's twine and hung from mini clothespins. Although this idea isn't a new one by any means, we've had such a great time going through old albums with our families and learning more about our pasts!
I love the Paloma's Nest, it is an etsy original! We are getting married in 6 months on 3/4/2011. From the beginning we have been personalizing and taking the extra time to do a lot of the work ourselves. We are going for a art deco/nouveau feel that is centered around our future monogram and peacock feathers and it would be awesome to have Paloma's Nest interpret that for us!!
We are putting our personal stamp on our August 2011 wedding by hosting the reception in our backyard. We've also got tons of little DIY aspects to make our guests feel comfortable and at home for the celebration!
I got engaged on Friday night and am loving now being "allowed" to look at SMP out loud and proud :) The hangers are gorgeous. I can imagine seeing my dress and his suit on these hangers and being completely content and happy!
For our wedding we are trying to do as much as we can to incorporate both families and friends. We want this to be an event that they remember and enjoy. As far as our personal stamp...my HTB is a graphic designer and so all of the printed goods have been designed by him. I am doing a lot of the other DIY stuff...so our hearts are in all the details.
I love Paloma's nest stuff!! Thanks for the great giveaway.
My fiance and I are both in the design industry, so we are including lots of DIY and personal touches. My favorite part of our story is that we grew up together and after my older sister used to tell us every day that we would one day be married and pester my fiance that he HAD to marry her little sister. It became such a joke that we started calling each other "husband and wife". We didn't start dating until after collage but still have amazing year book entries talking about our future wedding, children, etc. We are framing all of the year book entries and notes from high school and are so excited that 10 years later, we can actually call each other "husband and wife".
My fiance and I are elementary school sweethearts - we have dated on and off and been the best of friends since meeting in 5th grade. We are getting married in an art gallery and our personal touch will be displaying photos of our life together from the past 13 years.
I'm getting married this November and my future mother in law is an artist and has hand painted our invitations, menus, place cards and programs. I am also making all of my own centerpieces, my guestbook and my reception welcome sign :) I think handmade touches really make our wedding feel intimate and personal and would love these Paloma's Nest products!
We are literally stamping (almost) everything for our wedding day. We are hand stamping the 240 guest names onto the escort cards, as well as making table numbers out of the seasons and years of our friendship and relationship, which started in Fall 1995. Each season has its own stamp, and that will be on the table number as well as the escort card. These Paloma's nest clothes hangers and bowls would fit in perfectly with our stamping theme!
My fi and I are getting married next December and we are planning a Winter Wonderland wedding. We will be putting our personal "stamp" on things by having a Christmas cookie bar, with traditional cookies from both of our heritages (Swedish/German and Italian.) Almost everything in our wedding is a diy project, from the centerpieces to our invitations, to my wedding dress. (I am adding LOTS of crystals to it to add a sparkling snow-like effect) I love these creations from Paloma's Nest, they are so adorable! And look awesome in photos. <3
Oh how I love these bowls!! For our wedding we are incorporating several DIY projects with a photos theme throughout the reception. Our table numbers will be pictures of us, our card box will be covered in pictures of us, we will have a photo booth set up for guests to play in....the list goes on. We are also incorporating an ice cream sundae parlor for guests to create their own ice cream dish! So much fun!! :)
These type of really beautiful, simple and gorgeous items would be perfect for my wedding as an extra added flair. We plan to do a lot of DIY decor and accessories, so these will fit perfectly. Not only that, but they will match our color scheme and add a delicious vintage touch to our reception and our bridal room. Love them!
WE are including out favorites throughout the evening - favorite foods, colors, songs. these little momentoes would mean so much to me!
My entire wedding will be personalized. Everything will be DIY, from the stationary, to the centerpieces and bouquets, and all the small details. I would love, love, love to win the ring bearer bowl. I'm in love with it.
Hi! We are getting married next July and I think our entire wedding is going to be made up of personal touches! I went to school in the south and my fiance loves everything about the south, so we are going to be incorporating a lot of "southern details" here even though our wedding is going to be in our hometown of Pittsburgh. Thanks for the giveaway!
I would love to be able to give these to a good friend of mine who's tying the knot next April. Their biggest "personal touch" is that they plan to have ice cream cake for dessert...much to the chagrin of the mother of the bride!
We have so many things that are personal in this wedding! My favorite detail, if I had to pick, would be the "surprise" performance we're planning for the ceremony. After everyone but my dad and I have walked down the aisle, a guest, sitting in the church, will sing the 1st line of a song (can't ruin the surprise by naming it here, just in case!). Then a guest, seated somewhere completely different, will sing the next... and while more and more join in, the rest of the guests will be treated to a really fun theatrical moment! Can't wait!
We are having a wedding cake topper that shows me being dragged away from my favorite team and towards his!
Our whole wedding day will be personal but my favorite thing about our wedding so far is going to be our ceremony. It will really reflect both of us and our relationship.
For our April wedding, our personal "stamp" will be felt through music. Our "soundtrack" is extremely special to us, we've hand-picked each tune to really tell our story.... this may or may not include a lot of Cyndi Lauper. :)
Our wedding is in less than two weeks!! September 4th to be exact! Our theme is garden romance and everything has been DIY from the lace wrapped vases to thank you cards & paper pomander balls. Our color is pale yellow & one of our signature "stamps" are yellow pears & with that, we are using the phrase "The Perfect Pair." Two pears will be included with each centerpiece. We're also doing quite a bit with "Mr.&Mrs" and I would LOVE to have hangers that incorporate that element. It would be so gorgeous for photographs!
Meg

I love the Paloma's Nest designs! We are using tons of personalized ideas for our July 2, 2011 wedding. My husband-to-be is a personal home brewer so we will be putting together a personalized apricot brew and decorating it for al our guests as a take home gift. We will also be setting up the table numbers with pictures of trips we have taken together. Our centerpieces are our favorite flowers :) I want our guests to now that we designed our wedding to be about us and not just a super fancy wedding put together by a wedding coordinator
We're getting married this November at a beautiful location outdoors. These fit our theme perfectly. To cut down on costs we're doing a ton of personal touches. We have a lot of personal touches and our families are highly involved. This would be a great addition
With the help of my fantastic group of family and friends we will be DIY-ing most of the wedding from the boutonnieres to the table numbers. I will also be hand painting each of the bridesmaids parasols to personalize them for the event. Thank goodness I'm an artist and all of this is FUN to me! :)
This would be perfect for our fall wedding! We're trying to personalize our wedding through the use of items we already have in our households and also choosing readings/hymns that are meaningful to us. We are incorporating one symbol throughout the wedding and ceremony, too.
I am the MOH for my sister in law's wedding. She's been trying to personalize her wedding but her future mil is not into personal touches and has been making planning difficult. I'd love to gift this prize to her as a way for her to have something special and unique during her day.
Ring bearer plates are beautiful! I would love to have that at my October 2010 wedding. My future hubby and I are writing and singing a song:)
As a medical student, I've been having a hard time planning my wedding in general, but most particular regarding the hoardes of lovely, pretty things that can be found by vendors online. Palomas Nest makes so many items I just love, and it would make my day so extra special to be able to personalize my ceremoney with these freebies. It would provide a personal stamp on the day that I won't be able to have otherwise, and it will stick with me for a lifetime of memories.
I think the sweetest personal touch is to personalize the engraving inside the rings with the couples nicknames for each other!
I am getting married in NYC on October 3, 2010 and my something old, something barrowed, and something blue is defnitely getting my personal "stamp". I am wrapping my bouquet in a beautiful vintage blue handkerchief that belongs to my fiance's 104 year old grandmother. We share the same inititial ("L"), which is embroidered on the handkerchief. I am also using the little white velvet bow from my mother's garter to attach her and my dad's original gold wedding bands (they got new bands a few years back) to the handkerchief; I love how worn and smooth they've become after 20+ years of wear!
I'm getting married next August, and have already started putting personal touches to the details. Two of our aunts will be making our cake & cookie bar, I designed a monogram for the invitation suite and favors, and we hope to write a personal note to each guest to accompany their escort cards! Our family and friends mean everythig to us, so we want each and every one of them to know how thankful we are to have them celebrate our wedding with us! Great giveaway!
For our 12-11-10 wedding we are using a monogram of our interlocking initials that was designed for us by a good friend. It's incredibly personal and romantic and is incorporated on everything from our invitations to our welcome bags... We'd love to have these wonderful additions to even more personalize the day :)
My fiance and I are high school sweethearts and will be together for almost 9 years when we get married. At our cocktail hour we plan to have little memorabilia from our high school to play up that fact. And to make things even better, we're having our reception where we had our senior prom, so we're going to display pictures from prom and then take the same poses in our wedding attire -- so cute and personal!
Hopefully with a Paloma's Nest original! Also, be super close to our family we will have them warm the rings while we cay our vows and hopefully have our photographer catch some of it on film.
My fiance and I have literally put a personal 'stamp' on our wedding day with our wedding invites, where we stamped each guests name with individual letter stamps inside a stamped mason jar on the envelops. I never thought I'd get more compliments on my envelops than my invitations!
We'll be using the same stamps for table numbers and our thank-you cards. Other ways we're keeping our wedding personal is by showcasing our country roots by incorporating homemade jam favours, gingham, cowboy boots for me and burlap table runners. We can't wait to see it all come together!
We have decided to give local honey as our favors to honor my late grandmother, Bea.
We have a lot of personal wedding touches. My favorite is our incorporation of birds into our theme--we love the artist Kurt Halsey and a lot of his work includes birds. Our favorite work by him is: http://www.kurthalsey.com/work/always-member-never-forget/ so we had an Etsy seller (BentBranch) make us our cake topper which is two birds holding a heart with our wedding date on it and then we are having toasting classes custom made with Kurt Halsey birds on them as well as our wedding date to toast with. Both will be amazing keepsakes for the future!!
My fiancé’s entire family is from Texas- we now live in Florida. In order to pay homage to his roots, one of our personal touches on our special day will be my “something blue.” We are having his Great-Grandfather’s turquoise bolo made into a fabulous chunky ring for my right hand! It will be the perfect compliment to our theme which is, “eclectic rustic elegance!!”
We plan on having upscale picnic food at a downtown Boston hotel complete with strawberry shortcake instead of a formal cake for our wedding over the 4th of July weekend! We will also thread in some red and blue touches to make it more festive.
I have been looking at these items for months. There are so many choices that I can't decide what words I will use. One day I want the traditionals: Names and Date. The next, I want something unique: A famous quote or a secret message between the two of us. The choices are endless. I'll have to see how I feel in the coming months to determine what I will use.
oh my gosh what a great giveaway. I was already planning on ordering one of these lovely dishes for my wedding next year. Our theme is two doves so we wanted to get the dove shaped dish or have two doves stamped into the dish with the words "They will see us waving from such great heights" which is one of our fave songs from Modest Mouse that we are having played during the ceremony . I hope to win and if not I hope whoever will win will enjoy their dish as much as I will.
My daughter is a third year vet student and this summer, she spent the entire time in Africa; she was part of a team studying the impact of humans on the environment and studying cross-contamination of animals to humans and vice versa. On many occasions, her encounters with Maasi tribes was life-changing. Their lives are simple and profound. Her blog about the experience is: http://drdeedagoestoafrica.blogspot.com/ She just came home and her wedding is september 2--she and her fiance' are very environmentally minded and I know that the two of them will do many incredible things to make a difference in our world. I would love to give them the tiny text bowls as a gift. They could use them for guests or even do a collage on their wall or in a shadow box--Thank you for considering me and for this wonderful opportunity.
Joann
Love love love Paloma's Nest! The ring bowls are so sweet, simple, yet incredibly elegant and unique. Similarly with the "stamp" of personalization, my cousin is making stamped initial necklaces for all of my Bridesmaids - the ring bowls would be a beautiful way to gift the necklaces and for the girls to display them and other jewelry while they're not wearing them later on!
My fiance David and I have been able to incorporate many family and friends, as well as friends of friends throughout our day - this coming October 23. David's Aunt & Uncle are classical pianists and will be playing during our ceremony, my Uncle/Godfather is a Priest and will be presiding over our ceremony, we were able to letterpress our save the dates with friends of friends, our old coworkers helped design our invitations & logo, college friends are playing the reception music, and I was even able to hire a wedding planner who is a coworkers wife! We have been so blessed by these personal touches throughout this planning process - It wouldn't be our wedding if these people weren't a part of it!
Oh! There are so many ideas going through my mind on ways to use these adorable items! I am a wedding planner for a hotel in Iowa, and I'd love to give one of these adorable keep sakes as a gift to my brides. (I usually do something thoughtful - and have it ready in their room for when they arrive!) I'd also love to use one of the personalized hangers for a wedding that I'm in next year. There's something so special to me in the changing of a bride's last name, and the hangers are a great way to incorporate that process on the day of the wedding.
I am sooooo in love with those bowls and hangers!!! Our personal "stamp" is going to be a theme of friends and family coming together throughout our whole day. We have been so lucky that our families are helping out and contributing so much to our DIY wedding. My grandpa is a beekeeper and is making all of our honey favors. My mom is a whiz with crafts and is helping me with so many things. These keepsakes will fit right in with our personal and homey wedding!
This is a great giveaway! I'm getting married next July and have already incorporated a lot of personal details in the planning. I think my favorite thing so far is our cake topper. We've been going to sporting events and collecting bobbleheads for years now so we're having personalized bride and groom bobbleheads made for our cake. We also had our engagement pictures done at our local baseball stadium and making our table numbers our favorite athletes! Thanks for the giveaway!
I adore Paloma's Nest - one of my favorite "just because" gifts for people I love. I've just started planning our Sept. 2011 wedding but one of my favorite personal touches so far was my fiance's idea. We will be giving Levain Bakery Cookies (from New York City, where we live) as our favors at our Iowa wedding. I love bringing a little bit of our city to our Midwest wedding.
Wow, I'd be so lucky to win any one of those items! All so cute and thoughtful. Since my fiancee and I are both designers, we're doing our own Save the Dates and Invitations. Can't wait to get started, and for people to see them :-)
We are getting married in less than two months out in Healdsburg. We love to cook, so we are incorporating tea towels for napkins and chili pepper rosemary boutonnieres. We are also carrying our wedding date 10.09.10 throughout our printed materials along with a pretty frame shape. I would love use the personalized hangers with our date on them! We can't wait!!
We are putting our "personal stamp" on our August 2011 wedding by using a picture of our blonde haired beautiful son with a sign saying "save the date".....he will be an integral part of our wedding and would look adorable carrying the custom ring bearer bowl down the aisle. After the ceremony he will carry a pennant that reads "YAY my parents are married!!"
My fiance and I cherish our friends and family. We are including them in all the phases of our wedding to create our 'personal stamp.' We have also created a unique monogram that will be used throughout the day!
Love this giveaway! Our wedding is in DEC so our personal stamp will be giving away snowflake ornamnets so everyone can hang one on their Christmas tree!
We are having a friend officiate our wedding so it will be personal and sweet. In addition we are using our monogram throughout for a cohesive "brand" and we can use most of the items again and again in our home after the wedding.
we're getting married in march & im trying to plan a diy wedding being still very budget conscious. these bowls are adorable and would look great in our wedding!
We are getting married in November and I've been eyeing the beautiful items from Paloma's Nest for over a year! We are really trying to personalize our big day by hand making as many details as we can. So far we created handmade passport invitations, hand sewn napkins for the tables, we silk-screened 85 tote bags for our guests, made an adorable cake topper with our names in a banner, and created fabric flower garlands for our wedding tent. These bowls and hangers would be the perfect touch for our wedding!
We plan to incorporate many personal touches! We will be displaying photos of our parents wedding all the way back to wedding photos of several great-great-grandparents. And will have dances from each of our cultural backgrounds.
LOVE the hangers and bowls. Our wedding is a giant DIY event. I'm a graphic designer, so I will be illustrating the Save-the-Dates and designing (and embossing by hand) all of our invites. Our theme is "Bird's of a Feather" so I will be making two birds out of clay for the cake topper. I will also be making the boutineers and corsages out of paper flowers and peacock feathers. My bridesmaid's will be wearing their own black shoes but I will be making them shoe clips to put on them. I'm part Asian, so for our favors we will be making homemade fortune cookies as favors. To go along with our birds of a feather theme, I will paint a tree on canvas and people will place their thumb-prints for leaves and sign their name. My fiance is a writer so not only will our vows be written by us, but he's writing the entire service. A friend of ours is doing the photography but I'm doing all the photoshop re-touching and even making the albums. I have a lot on my plate!
for our wedding next fall, we are going to include many personal touches. as avid football fans (and from a family that also loves sports) we will definitely be acknowledging this on the big day, smack dab in the middle of football season. as we are both mizzou alumni, i will be wearing some tiger striped shoes, and we will also be commissioning some "cut outs" (like you often see at fairs/amusement parks that have a hole for your face) for guests to take pictures with--they will definitely incorporate a tiger! we'll also have my uncle officiate, are using etsy vendors to creat other custom items, and our featuring kansas city bar-b-que, boulevard beer, and other local items to introduce folks to our town and are really low key, down home, and personal (as they are some of our favorite "cuisines")! but really, i'm most excited about the tiger shoes. these items in the giveaway would be perfect to personalize with some of our loving codewords for each other...
Thank you for such a great giveaway! We have many ideas for our upcoming wedding, and will try to add as many personal touches as possible. For example, at the reception we want each table to be a "room" of our (symbolic) house, and we are looking for vintage items to decorate each table. For example, a lamp and a frame for the Foyer, old books for the Library and so on. The Paloma Nest ring bowls would be a perfect detail, both for the ceremony, as decoration on our reception table and after that in our house!
We are putting our personal stamp on our October 2010 wedding by incorporating pictures of us (collected from 5 years of dating) throughout the ceremony and reception site. Favors will be homemade applesauce canned by my grandmother. There are so many other DIY projects we are doing for our wedding, but these are my favorites.
I love the hangers and bowls!!! These would make such great pix for the wedding album. One way we are personalizing our day, is to honor my groom's father who passed away when he was 7. I don't like a lot of sappy stuff, but wanted to do something to mention him. In lieu of favors, to honor our guests, we are donating to the American Heart Association in his father's memory.
I am putting the "stamp" on my wedding by custom designing and letterpress printing our save the dates and invitation suites (as well as coasters, napkins, favor tags and menus!) It's been an amazing process, and is very rewarding when you see the finished product! Its also a hands on way to work together, and make our wedding not only a special day, but special memories of all the things we did to create it together.
I'm doing all of my own florals myself! I'm bulk ordering the flowers for my bridesmaids and making all of their bouquets. I'm also handmaking fabric rosettes to use in my centerpieces, in my bridesmaids' hair, on my cake, on picture frames...you name it!! It's saving me a ton of money to make my budget go further. And it's been so much fun to think of all the ways I can incorporate the rosettes into the day!
My daughter's wedding is in 3 week and she has not found the perfect ring bearer "pillow" She just thinks they are all cheesey. She would LOVE this. This is the best give-away ever.
I got engaged a little over a week ago and am so excited to finally be able to look at SMP with a ring on my finger!!! Im just starting to plan but I know I want people to walk away from my wedding saying "that was so cassidi"
I love the hangers and bowls! Hope its my lucky day!
What a great giveaway! We are writing our own vows, so our ceremony will be very personal and reflective of us..
Hi! Love every detail of these bowls! It's hard to pick, but right now the most personal detail of my wedding has been the song I've chosen to walk down the aisle. It's very personal to me, and I believe that the song captures the intimacy and happiness I'll feel in that moment.
My fiance played baseball, so our flower girl will be throwing flowers out of a baseball glove and I have ordered a baseball with heart stitching for our sweetheart table. There are so many decisions I have made, I just want to make sure his interests and opinions are included in our special day!
My friend is getting married this coming Spring and these would be perfect to incorporate into her wedding. I would love bird themed stamped bowls to be given out to special guests and bridesmaids. Just so special and unique. Thank you!
These bowls are awesome! We are putting smaller personal touches on things, like having a bottle of our friends (bridal party) favorite liquor bottles on their tables. My fiance is a hunter so i will have a deer head groomsmen cake for him. We like the small touches that are going to make the every day wedding a little different and more personalized!
Our goal with our wedding is for it to be our own not some bridal magazine mold. In an effort to put our stamp on things I am DIY-ing a TON of stuff from the invitations to the decor. I am having my dress made especially for me and even made my own hair piece to match. Not only will our wedding be completely unique to us but it will be much more special with all the handmade touches a long the way. Everything from the theme to the menu represents us and our personalities!
It's all about the little things...items, colors and small touches that mean something to you.
Since my fiance and I are doing all the planning for our wedding our special touches are going to be everywhere. The main ones though will be the use of our invitation design throughout the day. My sister designed the invitation set which includes two super cute birds which will be placed on items throughout the wedding including the coffee cup favors and a welcome banner across the front of the bed & breakfast where the ceremony will take place.
I love this! Thank you for the giveaway! :)
We're incorporating several of our own touches. From the RSVP cards where we asked everyone to tell us their favorite song (nothing is better than great grandpa Henry getting up and boogie to his favorite song), to making my garter from the lace of the veil my mother wore 35 years ago!
our wedding is taking place at my childhood lake home, it doesn't get more personal than that!
I absolutely love all the finishing touches that these can give to our wedding. We are getting married August 27, 2011--one year after you announce the winner! It is so important to customize and make the wedding your own by adding special little touches like this. It will help people recognize the special bond that you share with your spouse-to-be. We have monogrammed everything, from our invitations to our cake and everything inbetween. Our favors consist of a donation to our favorite charity--our way of giving back. I would love to bring the bowls to our traditional wedding--where we are having at the place of our very first date!
I am highly detailed oriented so planning our 10-10-10 wedding has been challenging.
My brother passed away and I wanted to find a way to have him close to me so I made a photo charm bracelet with three charms; my parents and grandparents wedding pictures and a picture of my brother to have wrapped around my bouquet.
I am also having a Phillies grooms cake that my fiance has no idea about since we started dating during the 2008 World Series the year the Phillies won!
My fiancé and I both promised to make our wedding as much “us” as possible. Coming from two different cultures with each their own completely different traditions, we knew we’d be pulled in opposite directions from time to time on our wedding plans. Throughout it all, we’ve tried our best to stay true to “us”. Our aesthetics have always been very modern/whimsical so we’ve included touches throughout our look – all of our stationary has been squared 2 (opposite) rounded corners and we’ve had a custom monogram created that we’ve used on many things including our save the dates, invitation, favors and as the backdrop to our “red carpet” style fauxtobooth. We’ve also incorporated our signature birds in our stationary and wedding cake as well as tablescape. This amazing Paloma’s Nest giveaway would be perfect for our wedding making it even more personal and memorable!
Oh god, I would kill for this! We're putting our own touch on our wedding day by DIYing just about everything. Invitations (goccoed), flowers, cake, etc. These would be so completely perfect!
Le sigh.
Paloma's Nest has gorgeous wedding items. I would be so happy to win!
Our wedding will be very small which gives us the opportunity to make nice personal gifts for everyone. For example, we are planning on adding our favorite local chocolate to the welcome baskets!
Everything about our wedding will be personalized- the food is English, just like the groom. Our favors remind us of the time we spent in Japan together. Our theme itself, cherry blossoms, is very meaningful to us. And we'll be writing our own vows!
I love Paloma's Nest and the personal, handmade feel her pieces have. That is really the kind of feel I'm striving for my wedding to have, so I've handcrafted tons of things for the wedding. I handmade my cake topper by needlefelting two birds, I've made paper banners to go over our dessert table and in back of our chairs, I've handstitched vintage hankies with our initials to give out to our family members, and handstamped so many little signs and paper goods, including the favors and escort cards. I'm also displaying our parents' and grandparents' wedding pictures, and using my grandma's vintage typewrite as the guest book. These items would add such a great touch to our wedding!
Like so many others, we too have gone all out with personalization. From the handmade save the dates and wedding invitations to the made from scratch cookies various family members will be contributing. There are so many personal details that it would not be possible to list them all. These items would make perfect additions!
I love these products :) I think anything that can personalize the day and add sweet charm is well worth the price. These are actually items I'm planning on anyway, so winning them would be fantastic!
We're planning a backyard wedding at our home, an antique house that is 175 years old. We've been renovating over the past few years and I think it will make our big day extra special. We want the feel of the day to be intimate and loving, not commercial or "big banquet" wedding. There will be a brook in the back of our wedding arbor and all of lilac bushes blooming. We hope that every spring when that scent wafts across our patio, we'll remember how lucky we are to have each other and be stewards of this old house that has given us so much.
It is very important that our wedding reflect us, especially with a large family and so many family weddings that just blend into the next. We are having the wedding out my parents house, for a more intimate feel and are spending a lot of time and energy on the lighting, since my future husband is a lighting designer. I recently picked up origami as a hobby, so I am handmaking some flowers and cranes for the big day. Also, we live in California, but are having the wedding on the east coast, where we both grew up. The food will be mexican and latin, inspired by the great cuisine of southern california. We will also have crabcrakes to represent future husband's hometown of Baltimore!
We have choosen an icon of a grape bunch for our wedding...it appears on the invitations, menus, programs, and even the wine glasses that are the favors. It really pulls the winery theme together.
I have a lovely young couple in mind for these goodies. How unique and so adorable.
So much nicer than pots and pans!

What gorgeous pieces! I've had my eye on some of them for a while and it would fit very nicely in my upcoming Spring wedding. I'd love to use the bowl for our rings during the ceremony, the hangars would make great photos for my dress and his tie and would be wonderful keepsakes, the custom bowls would make sweet gifts for our ushers and extra helpers as a thank you.
I have been wanting to buy a Paloma's Nest Ring Bowl since we got engaged! I am in love with the personalized touch and the idea of being able to use it even after the wedding.
I've had it posted on my planning website forever as a "must have detail".
We are getting married at a vineyard because we love wine (I love sweet wines, he loves dry wines) and we want to get married outside. Our ceremony will be on a hill overlooking the vines and our ceremony is in an old renovated barn. We actually switched to this venue from a classic ballroom because we felt that we could have more of our own touch on our wedding. My favorite thing that adds our own personal flare is I am making wine glass charms for our 150 guests. It goes with our whole vineyard theme, but is our way of saying 'Thank You" to our guests with a homemade gift :) Each charm will have a bird on it (I love birds and my favorite movie quote is from the Notebook "If you're a bird, I'm a bird.") and will be adorned with different colored beads so people can differentiate which wine is theirs. I think this is a great way to personalize our wedding and our favor that will mean a lot to our guests and have secret meaning to us, the love birds :)
Having a crazy mix of French and American traditions!
-Friends are officiating
-Our dessert is creme brulee & NY cheesecake
-Having friends be involved as much as possible (designing invites, being photographer)
We're really just avoiding having any tradition because it's tradition and including only the ones that are significant to us
Our personal touch will be our guestbook. I came up with an idea, and I can't wait to share it with you guys after our October wedding. I will be sure to send pictures as soon as I get them!
I'm in love with those hangers, as well as the bowls!:) SO cute. My fiance works at a meat facility (family owned) and so we're incorporating that into the wedding with 'I love you more than pork', 'I love you more than jerky bites', etc. Fun and very much us!
I adore all these items by Paloma's Nest. Our wedding will be next July and will include many DIY details. We both love to cook so we're having family and friends help us bake several simple homemade cakes. I'll design the stationary and arrange all the flowers. He'll create the playlist and choose the food. And we'll write our own vows and design our non-traditional ceremony around what is most meaningful to the two of us.
I love Paloma's Nest's products! My fiance and I are getting married May 21, 2011. Our personal touch is including special touches from many different family memebers. My aunt is doing our centerpieces (which include wooden stands made from a tree in my fiance’s backyard), my sister and cousin are making our cake, we are using my grandparent’s cake topper, and I will be wearing his grandmother's crystals. I would love to have one of the ring bearer bowls to start a tradition with the family my fiance and I create. It would be a great piece to pass down to our future children when they get married.
If I win this or not I'm going to be getting the great bowls from paloma's nest. i hear them!
my fh and i are putting our personal stamp on our wedding by just being ourselves! he and the guys will be wearing black & white converse shoes (he LIVES in them!) and I'll be making a "facts about us" sheet to have at the tables -- little unknown info that people might not have known about us or about how we met (we've known each other for almost 20 years! -- since we were little).
even though it's going to be a larger wedding (150ppl) we're really excited to make it special with little details -- vintage embroidered hankies for the ladies at the ceremony, a coffee bar (with espresso and gelato -- our favs!) with personalized stir sticks.
just all around love. :)
Personal touches will be throughout the entire wedding, as I assume everyone who reads Style me Pretty wants! I want my wedding to jump out and hug every single guest that comes. Starting from the fact that we are getting married on my Fiances family farm...to draping all the tables with vintage table cloths. Every detail will be warm and full of love and home-y-ness.
Awesome give away! Paloma's Nest has wonderful DIY touches. I would love to incorporate our grandparents' wedding rings in our special day some how and this would be a lovely way to do that.
Every detail of our wedding will be stamped with our love. Having Paloma's Nest keepsakes as part of our day would only make it that much more special. xoxo.
I just love those ring bowls, just stunning!!!! this is such a great giveaway, thanks so much for the chance!!!
My fiance and I are getting married December of 2011. So since I have more than one year, I made a list of DIY wedding projects that I can't wait to start working on. To mention a few...I am making my own bouquet...made out of vintage desk knobs (one of my favorite vintage things to collect), I'm making the grooms buttonier, we are using vintage post cards for our save-the-date and I will be writing the names of our guest, we designed our own invitation, I am going to make flowers out of old shirts and scraps of fabric I have at home, and I am going to make a chandelier out of white rock candy strings. In short, we are putting our personal 'stamp' in every detail of our wedding by putting and showing who we are and our love with our wedding decorations/projects.
These products are so amazing! We are personalizing our wedding by making it a chinese traditional wedding to honor our culture but with our twists. We are having personalized favors with our favorite cookies and my absolute favorite flowers everywhere.
What a special keepsake!
When we tie the knot, we want to include as many personal and southern touches as possible. We will be serving shrimp and grits plus peach sangria with mint from my mother's garden! The guests will receive our favorite tea as gifts, and we are making ribbon streamers for everyone to wave around as the happy couple is announced.
I would love to make my wedding very personal! I love our names together! We have already been through alot during planning our wedding, we havent gotten a date yet because he is in the military and is being deployed. This gift would put a smile on my face! See my future name & our names together would help to get my through this hard time! Looking to the future is the only thing that will ge me through! Everyone sayings that it is the girl's big day, well the wedding will be OUR day! together forever!
I love Paloma's Nest! Their ring bearer bowl with the inscription of "I Carry Your Heart" holds special meaning for me. I've been in a long distance relationship and ee cummings poem "I carry your heart with me" holds special meaning for me. I would love to have that phrase resonating throughout our wedding day as we put the long distance behind us. Thanks for the giveaway SMP!
We both like good beer. Since I'm from Cleveland but we're getting married in Baltimore we will be serving Great Lakes and Heavy Seas at the reception.
Each dinner table will be named after great races. My fiance and I had our first kiss on Kentucky Derby day, we got engaged on the Birkebeiner trail in Wisconsin, home of the longest cross country skiing race in North America. My dad is nuts for NASCAR... you get the idea.
Absolutely love this personal touch! We are getting married next July in Lake Tahoe and this is exactly the rustic personal touch that we are looking for! I have been to several weddings the past few years and feel that the things that really stand out are the personal things that the couple can add to their wedding. Although we are just starting to plan our wedding, our goal is to get as personal as possible! Having our wedding in Lake Tahoe is our first step at creating a personal feel for our wedding. We both live in Chicago but our favorite place to visit is Lake Tahoe. We want to bring all of our friends in family to the place that means the most to us as a couple! I am also wearing my grandmothers dress that my mother wore in her wedding. This giveaway would be one more personal touch that we could use to start the details of our wedding. Love the idea of our names printed like that!!
Ian and I are making a lot of things for the wedding together and using a lot of decor straight out of our home for the reception!
I am marrying the man of my dreams next October in Massachusetts. The little leaf dish will be perfect for our "romantic harvest" weddng. I am a proud DIY Bride, so our "personal stamp" will be all over our wedding and reception. I have a love of vintage silver serving pieces. I have them in my home and would not miss the opputunity to use them in the reception decor. My Fiance's friend from high school will be the one to marry us. A close friend will be singing our first dance song. These are just a couple of our personal touches for our special day.
Our wedding is Oct 9 and I LOVE Paloma's Nest! I've been stalking their Etsy page for over a year now!
I adore paper products and so we're making a lot of our paper products ourselves (invites, programs, escort cards, etc). We have a lot of kids in our family, so I knitted them all little toys as favors, and we're using pictures and our names/initials everywhere.
We are getting married in California where we live, but I'm originally from Saskatchewan where our provincial flower is the tiger lily. We're incorporating tiger lilies into our bouquets and centerpieces, and it's perfect since it's also my fiancé's favorite color! We are also giving out Canadian candy as favors since you can't buy them here.
We are putting our stamp as a couple on our wedding by bringing whats old and making it new again. Old frames from around the house revamped and filled with family wedding photos that date back to the 1850's, antique jewelry of my grandmothers worn in a new unique way, borrowing a veil from my sisters and re using it, old hankies for something blue etc. And of course my favorite part: giving brownies as favors because my future husband is nicknamed Brownie!
My fiance and I will be married next July, only 2 months after we graduate with our Bachelors' degrees and two weeks before we start graduate school! To pay homage to the places that brought us together, our personal touches include the ceremony at our church and a reception at the Faculty Club of our alma mater. We'll also be playing our school song at the reception, and take our engagement pictures at some of the historic buildings on campus. Adding the "Two Branches, One Tree" ring bowl would also add an additional special touch, commemorating the large oak tree under which my fiance proposed!
I am getting married in May of 2011 and I have started collecting tea cups for the reception tables and I am making cloth pomanders. I have 12 and am planning on making lots more! It would be great to have something that is so cute to go along with my wedding.
My wedding will have lots of personal touches, but what I am most excited about making are the invitations. I have been making my own handmade greeting cards for about 10 years now and I have always sent greeting cards to family members since I was very little. Card are definately my thing. So I am super excited to design my own wedding invitations.
I have been eyeing Paloma’s Nest items for quite some time now. As a graphic designer and fine artist, my fiance and I are working to add many personal touches to our summer garden wedding in Maryland. Some of our favorite parts- We are designing our invitations from scratch and I am painting our Ketuba. We would absolutely love to continue this DIY theme throughout the wedding and bring other artists such as Paloma’s Nest into our special day.
Thanks!
I love Paloma's Nest! We are putting our stamp on the day by making sure our guests are comfortable at every moment. We want people walking away thinking "I'm so glad I came!" To do this, we are paying attention to detail at every turn from DIY projects, to welcome bags, to the southern food.
We are putting our personal stamp on our wedding to make sure everything has some meaning for US, and getting rid of the wedding traditions that have no special meaning for us. No garter toss or bouquet toss, I have reserved the right to give the first toast in honor of all of our wonderful family and friends (we wouldn't be here without them), mom is making the dress, Mother of the Groom is making the desserts... It will be us from start to finish.
i love all of these little special touches! our whole wedding is full of special and personal touches. my sister is a wonderful musician who will be playing a set at our wedding, a good friend will be playing the ceremony music, almost all of our vendors are really good friends and my favorite is we're having "midnight snacks" during the reception which includes mini replicas from our favorite restaurants in my hometown! i love looking for more and more personal touches and i think something unique like this giveaway would be perfect!
I love Paloma's keepsakes! They are so great for long after the wedding is over and a great way to see something concrete from the day to make you smile! We are making our wedding more personal by doing a hand ceremony instead of a unity candle or a sand ceremony. We both think it is more sweet and sentimental. It shows "what our gifts are to each other" and the works make me tear up just when I read them! We are also having my brother make chocolate chip cookies for our favors (in personalized to-go bags of course!)...he makes them from scratch and they are delicious!
Although my fiance and myself live in Orlando, our families are traveling from all over the east coast to be with us on our wedding day. We wanted this "sudo" destination wedding to tell our story to the people that we love so much but have not had the opportunity to spend the last two and a half years with us. We are incorporating his southern small town charm, with my big city childhood by having our wedding in a historic brick building that hosts a Farmers Market on the weekends. We are using the food to incorporate my northern routes, and really organic mediums like burlap and wheat to represent him. From Mason Jars, to Olive Oil bottles, we think that we will be able make both sides feel at home while getting a little glimps into the other side: ) We are sooo excited and are only 24 days away!!!
Since he proposed using a dessert plate, we plan on using all sorts of china and dishes in our decor. Just one of many personalized details we are going to include!
we are using lots of actual stamps, to help customize everything, from the table names, to the place cards and programs, to decorations around the venue. It adds that personalization that i love!
We've lost a number of close family members (grandparents, a parent) over the years, so to personalize our wedding and "include" those family members, we'll be putting up our parents and grandparents wedding pictures. We'll also be naming our tables after cities we've traveled to, his mother will be doing our flowers, and my mother will be making the flower girl dresses.
I'm getting married in 2 weeks and am knee deep in details! Not only did I design & construct our wedding invitations, I am watercolor painting pictures of all the places we've been together as table IDs, making pinwheels as name cards, designing & constructing 'fan' programs for our beach wedding, sewing table runners and an aisle runner... to name a few of the DIY details. I really want a day that feels like the groom and I not like a cookie cutter wedding!
We are putting a stamp on our wedding by using our silhouettes on all our stationary, from invites to menus to programs!
What a wonderful giveaway! I would say anyone that comes to our wedding will instantly see our personality in everything...The food is Tex Mex (our favorite), we will have touches that highlight the beautiful city we live in (Austin), we are making our vases out of different bottles that we have been carefully collecting, we chose local beer and wine, we love music so are carefully selecing our favorites for dinner and dancing and overall it will be fun and relaxed just like us! I would just be beside myself to get this. I have wanted a hanger for my dress and I would love to be able to give the special people that have been helping me with our day a special gift!
I have been wanting to get one of these for a while now! I just couldn't decide on a phrase/engraving! I definitely want to get one though :) They are so cute and personal!
My first personal stamp decision was the make my mother my maid of honor. We are best friends and I don't want anyone else by my side! That was the first step that let pple know that this was DIY all the way.
Of course any wedding will be filled with personal touches. Ours will be an affair fully supported by our family and friends, with my bridesmaid designing all the print material, a friend designing and making my dress, my sis-in-law singing as we walk down the isle, etc... I look forward to sharing the day with all the ppl we love.
We're getting married in Oct. in Kauai in a very small ceremony on the beach with our immediate family. The past few weeks my fiance and I have been busy creating custom fuschia and lime green bunting that reads, "Just married," which we plan to hold for photos as well as creating a sign that reads, "Mahalo," which we plan to pose with for photos as a gift to our parents, who have done so much for us.
Our wedding will be a mix of a lot of personal touches. Including a cookie bar, to be named The Coucke's Bar (pronounced cookie, my new last name) :-)
let's start with the most important aspect: the food. We're growing the food ourselves - the vegetables, the eggs, the herbs... as farmers, and very conscious eaters, we couldn't have it any other way. The food we're not growing, we're sourcing from local farmer friends. We'll be doing a lot of the cooking ourselves, with talented hands lent from our chef brothers. We're also growing many of our favorite flowers, which will be put together by our friends and family.
in order to save money, we're thrifting our plates, vases, and decor, and we've spent many-a-Sunday poking around in thrift stores, antique dealers, and old barns looking for what we need.
a few of our best friends will come together to serenade us down the aisle... the groom's beloved sister, who is our dear friend will be performing the ceremony in a large open field in a valley of the Green Mountains...
While our wedding will not be small, it will be a community production...and a labor of our love. Our nephew will be in charge of the rings as he marches down the aisle in his hand-made corduroy tux, and one of the final details is what the rings will go in... This is it! We're also doing a ring warming ceremony, so having this would be the perfect final touch. Gorgeous little giveaway.
our wedding is this October 2, I would love to add those personalized hangers to our big day, they are fabulous
"Where you invest your love, you invest your life"
Paloma’s Nest - these bowls are fantastic! My fiance is a graphic designer and will be creating all the print elements of our wedding in June for a very personal touch. We are also paying tribute to both of our late grandfathers by incorporating their 'favorite things' as our guest favors.
I'm gettng married in May and am really trying to put our special touch on all the small details. The custom hangers and ring bearer bowl and other items would help us do just that. I love this website and all the personal touches that I am finding through it! Great giveaway- I'll keep my fingers crossed!!
I love Paloma's Nest! I'm getting married next May and I'm hoping to add a few DIY touches that will my wedding more personal. I'm going to be incorporating our families cultural traditions - my Filipino ones and his Irish/Polish ones - and our own personal interests in order to put a unique stamp on our special day.
My fiancee is incredibly romantic and when we were faced with the possibility of us being long-distance for awhile he bought me a special little present, a star right over the big dipper and named it with our first names. He had chosen the big dipper because it is one of the constellations seen year round in North America and thus, no matter where I went away for graduate school, we would always have our star shining over both of us. At our outdoor wedding & reception, we're going to have a little station with the telescope he bought me aimed at our star along with naming certificate and other little details.
These will be perfect for our Sourthern wedding next year! I love the gilded bowls and how it can be personalized for our wedding.
We are putting our personal stamp on our wedding by involving our family in the ceremony. My dad is walking me down the aisle and my mom is my matron of honor. His dad is his best man and his mom is performing our joining of the hands ceremony. My brother's are groomsmen and his sisters are bridesmaids. It is truly a family affair!!!
I'm getting married June 2011. My personal touch will be doing as many DIY details as I can, and also incorporating our Chinese culture into the reception.
Paloma's Nest is one of my FAVORITES! I visit their Etsy page every single day looking for cute ideas, favors, and details that will make our day even more special. My favorite touch, and most special detail, we are including in our day is a small locket with a picture of my Nano (my late grandfather) attached with blue ribbon to my bouquet. I am also attaching another small locket with a picture of my fiance's Poppop (his late grandfather) to his boutonniere. I want us to have them with us every step of the way on our wedding day because they were both so special and important people in our lives. A Paloma's nest personalized bowl would be the perfect place to keep these lockets.
Im keeping things at home. We are having our wedding where we met first which is at my little church in Florida. We are young Ill be 22 and him 25 when we get married. so we plan to use the old school music just to give it that vibe during the reception. Also being that some of his family has passed I am planning on surprising him by having their names engraved into his unity sand glass. also due to the fact that both my grandmothers are sick and cant come to the wedding I plan engrave their names into my sand unity glass. and also planning on surprising his whole family and having his old group sing two songs one at the ceremony while I walk down and one while we walk into the reception. I have a lot of little things. I want to do to surprise my hubby and family and friends. things have been rough for everyone over the pass couple of years so I want to really give them a chance to relax and enjoy the day.
We are planning on incorporating various Oregon-themed aspects to our wedding. Including our save the dates based on the green Oregon heart stickers!
I have been wanting one of rimmed bowls for our ring beerer, and then later for a christmas ornament. IT's tradition that every ornament have the name and date the it was given, so this would fit in perfectly!
We are having an intimate wedding with just immediate family. We are getting married on a cliff overlooking the ocean so other decorations will be few and handmade (fabric aisle runner, fabric bunting). I am planning to buy flowers from a local wholesaler and make my own bouquet. We are planning to make our save-the-dates and invites as well.
I love these bowls!! So cute! I am putting my personal touch throughout my wedding by using a stamp that has our names and date on it. On envelopes, favors, napkins, etc. I'm also planning on singing a song for my future husband during the ceremony! =)
Our wedding is all about the little details & I wouldn't have it any other way! We want this day to be more about our loved friends and family who will be able to share in our joy! Every little detail of our wedding has been thought out and these would be the perfect additions! Amazing! I can't wait to share our wedding with you in the Fall!
i'm getting married in december and am at a total loss for bridesmaids gifts... the mini dishes would be such a cutie little add on to a necklace or bracelet gift... and of course, those hangers! so cute!
we've got a ton of personal touches by way of our many diy projects for our may wedding. from the invitations to the table runners, we're doing it all! i've always looooved the paloma's nest ring bowl and would get one of our favorite quotes put on one...
We are getting married on September 4, 2011 and we'll be putting our "stamp" on our wedding by making sure that our personalities come through in everything from the pre-ceremony beverages to the cake toppers. We're hoping that many elements of the day will remind people of our personal stories and our quirks. Thanks for the great giveaway!
I will be showing these special items to future couples who commission me for their wedding day.
I had a lot of personal touches, but the two that got the most remarks were our menus and our wedding favors. I collected antique hankies, filled them with candy and attached a ribbon with a poem we wrote about tears of joy. We put one at each place setting, and under each was a copy of a love letter from a famous person with our menu printed on the back. Folks LOVED reading the love letters; they were a great conversation piece.
Due to our strict budget, we will be creating a lot of our own decorations, including burlap table runners and bunting, flower arrangements, decorating the mason jars for signature cocktails, etc. If I win the ring holders, we are going to rig it up to my 4 yr old chocolate labrador's collar since she is the ring bearer! Can't wait!
I love anything personalized! :) I want to have traditional Greek Wedding almond candies at my Greek Wedding with a little thank you note on each for my guests.
I love flowers so will be making my own bouquet.. the trouble is deciding from the many beautiful options!
My personal touch is going to be a take away magnent with our names and wedding date.
I absolutely love these bowls! We are getting married during the harvest season and will be setting up a mini market for our friends to fill their peck-bag programs with lots of local farm fresh goodies!
My fiancé and I are getting married in May. Here are a few of our personal touches. My fiancé loves beer so we have pints glass favors and I'm knitting dish clothes for each of our guests. Our guest book will be strips of fabric that I'll eventually use to make a wedding quilt. Our ceremony is taking place at a fort that he visited many times as a child. It is also the first place I was referred to as his girlfriend. Paloma's Nest's bowls are beautiful!
How we are making our wedding day a reflection of us and our closest friends:
1. We are getting married at one of the spots our favorite movie was filmed (sigh, The Notebook).
2. Our talented friends are all contributing to this special day, from the music to baking our cake to assisting with planning and filling our evening with all their killer dance moves.
3. We have set up a menu that reflects our favorite food, memories we've shared in the past 8 years together and his Aunts are creating their famous cookie and pasty buffet for all to enjoy and take home with little family recipe cards as well.
4. Our guest books are inspired by a post from Martha Stuart where everyone writes on different topics such as "Where should we be sure to vacation together?", "What is the best marriage advice you ever received?" etc...we want everyone to fill us with great ideas as we start this new chapter of our life and we'll need some new books for our book shelf :)
5. I'm going to have a couple little flip cams passed out to my best friends for them to document the day from their point of view as they see fit and I will edit all the footage together as a gift to Donnie later on.
6. By the time of our wedding, we will have been together for almost 9 years and because of that, everyone in attendance will have played a major part in our relationship and we want to be able to give some of our dearest supporters a personal thank you and these gifts are a beautiful way to do that.
Thanks for the exciting ideas!!!
i made our caketopper by handpainting some wooden dolls to look like us. it's really cute and really adds a personal touch to the wedding!
We are using our monogram and live, love, laugh throughout to give our personal touch!
We both love to cook, so for our October 2011 wedding, the favors will be homemade spice blends made from dried herbs grown in our Chicago balcony garden.
My fiance and I have a long and fascinating history between our families: both from west Indian immigrant families, both come from a long line of pastors, doctors and teachers who went to school together, and grew up in the same neighborhoods, both in the Caribbean and state side. Going to the same church, we grew up socializing with each others siblings, cousins, and friends. We moved for college, fell out of touch, and ran into each other years later. Though we were both dating other people (yes, scandalous) we were looking for a serious relationship, and quickly resumed our close friendship that drifted into a wonderful love affair. Our families our close; some of our friends who are now in our wedding party even ended up dating as well, and will be standing beside us. Our relationship has been multi-dimensional, in that I was placed out of the country temporarily during school, and we were forced to write letters from different continents; facing a tough fork in his life, he made a huge decision to go from a business man to being a police officers. I had a close call with health issues in the hospital, and he nursed me back to health...and saw each other through 3 close deaths in the families in the last 3 years. We our lives and paths become intertwined as a love story...so all the favors, and themes are woven with details of books, pictures, and even newspaper (the programs will be on newsprint, vintage style newspaper) with bookmarks as gifts, and the tradition in our ethnic background of story telling throughout our celebration.
For us, nothing could be more personal than include our loved ones into the story our lives have woven till this point, and invite them into the chapters we're writing in the future.
Every ounce of our wedding screams Ian and Corbett! Since this wedding is about us we aren't planning on any planner choosing anything about our big day. Since my fiance is a graphic designer he is single handedly creating our save the dates, invitations, shower invitations, thank you cards and even tee shirts to give away at the wedding! He is pouring every bit of his creative genes into our wedding. He is also a photographer so we will have the greatest pictures of all of the elements to remember forever. I also love love love to craft and make everything by hand. I am making hairpieces for all of my girls and bow ties and pocket squares for the boys! We are also having the theme of pendant flags running through the wedding, which you better believe will be made by us!
We're doing so many things to make our wedding day next June personal! We've created our own invitations and the design will be carried over to the ceremony programs and menus. We're having a subtle wine theme, and incorporating used (clean) wine bottles into our centerpieces, and making our own napkin rings. We're also painting our own signs, and most of all, getting married at a venue that is incredibly special to memories of my dad and me.
I love the details of Paloma's Nest and would feel incredibly special to be able to incorporate them into our special day!
Many of our guests went to summer camp with us over the years. I wanted to bring a little bit of camp into the wedding so they will all join in an old song during the ceremony. At the reception I have named all the tables after cabins at camp (which were all named for Archbishops of Canterbury). One of my crafty bit was making the flower hairpieces for my bridesmaids from 15 layers of silver silk & tulle!
I have always been diy-friendly, so when it came time to start planning my wedding, I knew from the beginning that I would be doing a lot of the work myself. We are doing the save the dates and invitation suites ourselves with a couple of vintage typewriters. I purchased a personalizable stamp kit, and we came up with the idea for our save the dates - they look awesome. Paloma's nest ring bowl would fit in so perfectly with our little rustic wedding - I would just LOVE to win this prize.
I just love everything, but wow those bowls are just gorgeous!
I am doing all kinds of DIY projects to personalize my wedding. I am also finding ways to ask my friends and family to add their personal touches as well!
Lot's of personal "stamps" in my wedding but there is one that is literally about stamping. Instead of a sign-in book, I drew a tree and matted the image. Guests "leaf" their thumbprints by pressing their fingers into small ink pads in various shades of green and then "leafing" their fingerprints on the tree. Finally they sign their names.
I am getting married at my in law's lake house in Austin, TX. We are having a backyard wedding. They have a beautiful backyard that overlooks Lake Travis. They custom built their house, so there are a lot of unique touches. I am excited to get married at the lake house because it’s not a wedding venue that has been used by many brides. It’s only OUR wedding site and we get to come back to it any weekend we want. Every time we come back, I will think about our wedding. Since it’s at our in laws, we are able to decorate it however we want. I am going to incorporate their rustic garden to my shabby chic theme. I will use skeleton keys for the escort cards in remembrance of my fiancé’s grandfather who collected skeleton keys. My family is Polish and Polish people love hot tea, so I am going to have a tea bar for them. I will also have lots of DIY details.
I have lists of DIY projects I want to tackle to make our big day all the more special...one of my favorites (and perhaps the most daunting) is to make runners and napkins for our 125 guest reception :)
My fiance and I are both ornithologists and our personal stamp will be to share our love of the outdoors with our guests. In lieu of an arch for our ceremony we will have a pair of wooden swallows strung between two trees hanging over us, handmade by the groom's father. Our venue is alongside a lake and we will be hosting a catch and release trout fishing derby during our cocktail hour. We would love a Paloma's Nest ring bowl to say "From Hooked to Hitched"!
We're doing it with our music (among other things)! :) FI recorded the song that will play during our ceremony and we picked processional music (modern version of "here comes the bride") and recessional music ("Married Life" from "UP") that meant a lot to us. In addition, the ring-bearer will be carrying my mother's old Bible instead of a pillow and the guest book is a photo book with our save-the-date and engagement photos that people can sign next to. Can't wait to see it all come together!
Our wedding is going to be filled with DIY details and our own personal spin. My fiance and I are getting married on my family land and have our hands in EVERYTHING! We have been renovating the barn for the reception, planting clover in the field for the ceremony, gathering mismatched china for our tablewear....and so much more. Winning these items would be the prefect accent to our day!
I don't know if I can count, but I've been married for 2 yes already and did not have the chance to discover all the amazing things that are currently offered. So, even though I already had my big day, I still love getting things with Oir wedding date on it! Hopefully I'll have a huge Anniversary Party to reenjoy that special day!!
We are having an October wedding on a Virginia plantation so we've incorporated a harvest theme throughout the food and decor. We met at a bicyle shop so our cake topper is a little wire bicyle and we have my parents double decker bike to ride away on. We've created special "favorites" throught the day like apple cider for when the guests arrive and kettle corn as they depart. The paloma's nest bowls and hangers fit in perfectly with the simple homemade, thankful vibe we want to portray throughout our wedding day.
Our personal "stamp" will be on just about everything! We DIY-ing just about all the decorations and centerpieces, including the florals, the paper goods, and many of the desserts. We will also have something special planned with family recipes and our favor at the end of the night.
My fiance bought me a ring after our one year anniversary, engraving our initials inside. I wear it everyday and now four years later - this ring is going to be the inspiration and personal touch in our wedding. Instead of just using the last initial for decoration, we are able to use all three of our initials because once we get married, we will both be AJT. This will be incorporated through the cake, napkins, favors, etc. I would love to have them engraved on a Paloma bowl and be used during our wedding as well.
Our wedding is on January 22, 2011 and it will be incredibly personal, representing our style and our taste! We are on a very tight budget so we have added lots of D.I.Y projects to make our big day complete.
Creative Heirloom Chuppah
Family is everything and we want to include our family in as much as possible on our big day. I have collected handkerchiefs that once belonged to my grandparents, great grandparents and my fiance's grandparents and great grandparents. We bought lace and sewed the handkerchiefs to the lace and, thus, together to create a beautiful, lacy quilt-like chuppah that we will get married under. Since our grandparents are deceased, it will be a great way to honor them and ensure that they are there with us.
Brooch Bouquets
I have been collecting silver and white barrettes, rings, brooches and hair accessories to create beautiful custom bouquets for my niece and little cousin to carry down the aisle. I have incorporated some family heirlooms to make it extra special.
Custom Stamp
A friend of mine is designing a logo that reads, "Love It Sweet" with our initials that I will have made into a wooden stamp. I plan to stamp each little brown bag that guests will use to fill-up at our custom candy bar (complete with all our favorite candies).
I absolutely LOVE the ring bowls from paloma's nest...and now the new hangers as well. We are planning on incorporating personal touches, favorite things, and our friends in family in almost every aspect of our wedding next fall. Now we just need to narrow our millions of ideas down to something managable!
i'm putting a personal touch on just about everything... from the stamps on the save the date envelopes (vintage, and hand-picked by me), to a handwritten note in the custom-made welcome tote. i'm counting down the days until my may 2011 wedding... i can't wait :)
All of our little details are our personal touch for our Jan 1 2011 wedding. We are having a memory tree and our families are helping out with a lot of DIY projects.
My family does not have many traditions, but my fiancé and I have a little girl, and it is really important to me that I create something that can be passed down to her!
I found a wonderful vendor on etsy.com that will take your beloved items and create a handkerchief and garter. I asked my mother for my great-grandma's hankie, I gathered pieces of my wedding gown, my prom dress and my daughter's baby blanket (which just happens to match my wedding colors). The vendor will use all of the pieces to create both items! My mother will use the handkerchief at my wedding.
I now have to precious items that I can pass to my daughter when she is a bride and she'll have something wonderful to pass to her daughter. It makes my heart happy!
My wedding is August 19, 2011. One of the things that I am looking forward to at my wedding is the ceremony, when we recite our vows. We decided to write our own vows to each other, in addition to the traditional vows. I love music, and I have decided to surprise him with a song. I have never sang to him before, and he always complained about that fact, so I think that this will be a great surprise for him! I love Paloma's Nest! So creative and exactly what I am looking for! Even if I do not win this giveaway I will definitely be buying a ring bowl for my ceremony! Great giveaway!
Our wedding will be on 10.10.10 at 10am. We will be together for 10 years 10 months that month. Our table numbers will be every year that we have been together, from 1999 to 2010, and there will be a photo of us from that specific year. Guests will get to enjoy our favorite foods, french toast souffle, egg casserole, quiche, etc. They will also be able to entertain themselves at the photobooth! The Paloma Ring Bearer Bowl will not only add another notch of personal touch to our big day, it will also be a great keepsake. The wooden hangers will be the perfect addition for the getting ready photo ops!
Hi!
I am getting married next July at my family's farm house in PA. I have loved working on all of the little details. Already, my grandmother has made the 200 jars of raspberry jam for our favors, my brother is folding amazing origami save-the-dates and garlands, and my fiance and I are working on designing the invitations. I really want all of my family to feel like they are a part of the wedding!!
Hi! What a great giveaway! We are writing our own vows, and I am making all of the tags by hand for our "wish tree." I wanted them to have a 'handmade' feel so I figured I would just make them! I also made the Save the Dates and even though I ordered my invitations from WPD, I rounded the edges and added some special details to make them our own! Thanks for having this giveaway!
DIY everywhere!!! My fiances grandmother is hand painting chairs for our head table, we are BBQing dinner, handmade tissue pompoms, I'm making jam with my MIL as favours, with s'mores and a popcorn machine for the late night munchies!
My wedding will have my personal stamp because I am doing almost all the decorations - from centerpieces, flowers, favors, desserts - myself or with my closest friends and family. Everything that will be included in the day has some special significance to my fiance and me.
My fiance and and I both went to the same undergrad - our wedding colors are a play on the school colors (university colors: powder blue and gold; wedding colors: navy blue and lemon yellow). I did my graduate studies and now work at the rival institution, so this was our fun way of staying true to our roots.
I love Paloma's Nest and think that the hangers are perfect! I just bought my wedding dress this past weekend and would love the chance to show it off with such a cute hanger!
What an amazing giveaway! Keeping our wedding personal is very important to my fiance and I. Our families have been super involved in everything so far, even down to the colors we have picked. My father is recovering from a terrible motorcycle accident last year that had him in a coma for 4 months. This wedding will be a celebration for my entire family to soak in how lucky we all are to be surrounded by such love and support from our parents. We are excited to place family pictures throughout the reception site, and to honor our late family members through memorial pictures. We are so excited!
We are putting personal touches in very subtle ways, but almost in every aspect. Our music playlist took us weeks to put together, our passport invitations were designed by us, our color scheme consists of some of our favorite colors, my husband to be is wearing his favorite pair of converses, I am also wearing converses, etc.
Seahorses are also a big part in our decor, because they have a special meaning to us. They make an appearance on our place cards, our napkins, our out of town bags, etc.
And also, our family is our special touch. We are involving every member in the ceremony by passing everyone the rings in a "ring warming" so that everyone can bless our rings and unions. This bowl would be the perfect way to pass them around and make sure no one drops them!
I just started planning my wedding, but I plan on using a lot of DIY details in our wedding, from the stationary I am designing to the bridal jewelry that my mom is going to make. I would love to add some more touches from Paloma's nest to keep the DIY touches going!
I adore the Paloma's nest bowls. I'd thought about saving the money on getting a ring bearer's bowl because we're not actually having a ring bearer, but I would LOVE one!!!
These are adorable! My personal touches will include hand made invitations, my favorite flowers (sunflowers) and all sorts of organic touches!
Personalizing a wedding s very important!! My finace Cortney and I plan on making it one of a kind! Our venue happens to be just down the road from my family's property in WNC where i spent every summer but we also chose it to celebrate my grandparents since they have passed. Cortney's mom is also in heaven and we plan on celebrating her with her favorite flower, Gardenias. They will be everywhere we can place them including the flowers in my hair. Our venue is a private estate that has a castle turret and we will have a custom flag made and placed on the top to "claim" our castle and welcome our guests to this joyous event.
We will also be using the same crystal champagne flutes and wine glasses my parents used on their wedding day.
My grandfather was a very important person to me and my favorite memory of him was when we would plant dogwood seedlngs. I would bring them back home (south florida) and wish and wish that they would grow. But they never did. So i have found a jewelry maker in Asheville, NC and he makes Dogwood flowers and i plan on wearing one as a necklace or ring so he can be with me the entire day!!
Another personal touch is my Fiance's Bestfriend is assisting in designing our monogram. Katy is a graphic designer and is phenominal!!! My fiance gave me a Tiffany's key necklace for my birthday and It is something i adore so i want the vintage/skeleton key theme to be an element of our day and being in a castle it goes together perfectly. Our monogram will be inspired by vintage letters with the key being the main element. I love that no one will have anything like it except Cortney and I.
There are a ton more DIY projects i am taking on.... Table runners, napkins, invitations/stationery, favors, welcome bags, etc.
I have always LOVED Paloma Bowls and other items. Making something with our date and names would be delightful and could also potentially be used in our childrens weddings and maybe even our grandkids :-D
Actually, we are literally putting our personal stamp on our wedding day! My sweetie is into block printing and he will be creating stamps for our wedding invitations and other paper goods!
Since my fiance loves fly fishing, his dad is tying flies for all the boutonnieres. Paloma's Nest makes such beautiful ceramics!
My daughter is getting married in October and the personalized hangers would be perfect to carry on into her marriage her organizational skills. The ring bowl is so much suited to keeping precious things in a safe place. The gift bowls would be treasured and shared with caring and loving friends...maybe even I might be given one as a gift. The items are timeless in this day and age when so many things are tossed away with little thought.
Our stamp on the wedding comes in the form of the music. We're creating ALL the playlists ourselves, from the cocktail hour to the dancing. We love indie rock, so we really want the wedding to reflect that style! LOVE the paoma ring bowl!!!
i adore these beautiful items.
my fiance and i will be tying the knot in may of 2011. we plan on having a garden themed wedding (although everything will be indoors) and i have been searching for ways to create an indoor space more intimate, creative, and of course, evoke the feeling of a garden. the ring bearer bowl especially, will help add a beautiful garden touch. other personal touches will be the centerpieces my mother and i put together and the trellis my fiance and his father create for us to get married under.
thank you SMP.
i love the personalized hangers! my guy is an a great ink artist and is planning on drawing our programs for us.
We are putting our "personal stamp" on our wedding day by making birdseed cake favors and giving a donation to the Arbor Day Foundation to honor the memory of my dad and his love for nature. I have been admiring Paloma's Nest creations for a while now...what a fantastic giveaway!
Paloma makes beautiful things with an attention to detail -
As an important personalized aspect of our wedding in October, our high school headmaster is officiating our ceremony - we met 11 years ago at boarding school when we were 15!
I'm using the theme of wedding vows throughout some of the details of my wedding. The "with this ring" bowl would tie in perfectly with my theme!
our personal stamp will be naming the tables after our favorite movies since we our such big movie buffs :)/
Great giveaway! We are putting our personal stamp on our wedding by making our own invitations, programs and placecards (while saving money at the same time)!
Our personal stamp will be that we are going to be doing a lot of diy. So our personalities are sure to come out in every little handmade project we do. We love what paloma's nest could add to the homemade, personalized feel of our special day!
My partner and I are two women getting married in Vermont this October. One of the photos that our photographer is excited to shoot is capturing our two wedding dresses hanging next to each other before we put them on. When I saw these personalized hangers I knew they would make the shot all the more beautiful and special!
Our personal stamp will be a highlight of our families and happy marriages. We are lucky enough to both have parents that have been married over 35 years, and we will honor them by sharing their wedding photos. Additionally, since our distant relatives have never met, we will be putting together wedding guest charts that show their relationship to us.
The personal "stamp" at our wedding will be the customized playlist during the reception. Music is so important to us and really tells the story of our relationship. We are hand picking songs that the DJ will play as well as asking for requests from our guests on our wedding website. Everyone gets to take a part in the planning!
Unfortunately I am not getting married, but my very good friend is! I would love to give this to her as her wedding gift. She is getting married in Portland, and I think it would tie in great with her urban-rustic theme!!
When my fiance and I are married next June, we will be combining two very large families with a lot of history. So we're going to incorporate many family photos, including as many generations as we can, into the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.
We used our initials throughout the ceremony and reception!
I designed my own wedding invitations and am planning the entire wedding myself. I also created a wedding website and sent out email save the dates from there. As much of the wedding is DIY as possible without making me crazy :)
We have are planning on writing our own vows and honoring our departed loved ones during the ceremony.
Our wedding next June will be as DIY as possible (definitely things like music, flowers, writing our own ceremony)... so that personal "stamp" will be on everything!
We haven't figured out all our personal touches, but the biggest one will be our venue--they've never had a wedding reception there before (scary & fun all at once!)
I plan on having alot of DIY elements for our wedding such as flowers and decor. We are also going to write our own vows and using non-traditional ceremony music as well for the non-visual personal "stamp."
I am getting married in my fiance's home orchard. We are adding personal touches of all their homegrown fruit and incorporating them in the decorations, catering, etc
I think my favorite personal touch to our wedding, is a locket that will be fastened to my bouquet. The locket has a fleur de lis on the front because I lived in New Orleans and have a special place for that city in my heart. The pictures on the inside are of my grandfathers on their wedding days. Since they are both deceased, it is a way for them to walk down the aisle with me.
The Paloma's Nest items are so great and I would be happy to win!
We're creating a custom monogram to not only use for our wedding (invites, programs, thank yous, etc.) but for the rest of our lives :)
WOW! What a great giveaway! We are putting our personal stamp on our November 19, 2011 wedding by hosting the reception in our backyard. We are making all the favors and sewing all the linens. Thank you SMP for this amazing giveaway!
We are doing a lot of little things to make our wedding very personal. We are getting a self-uniting marriage license and asking a good family friend to lead us through our vows. I am planning to wear my mom's original engagement ring that she had made into a necklace for her 30th wedding anniversary, after my dad gave her a bigger diamond. We are making our own invitation, menu cards, and place cards. These extra things from Paloma's Nest would fit right in and make our day even more personal and special!
My fiance and I are "putting our own stamp" on our weding by making and canning all 220 of our blueberry jam that we will be giving away as our favors. We are even making our own lables and decorating each favor with a handwritten thank you card.
My mother died in May and the flowers for my August 2011 reception will be in her honor, along with everything else, really. She loved red dahlias and I plan to carry dahlias from her garden for my bouquet, and just ordered a few hundred more for the ceremony and reception decorations. I even chose the date for the wedding based on when they would be in bloom where we live! My fi and I also plan to sing to each other at the reception, a favorite old song of ours, as she loved loved loved it when I sang, and was so excited when I met someone who loved to sing around the house as much as I do.
I'm getting married in September next year and our personal touch will be the wedding location, a little NorCal Coast hideaway that not too many folks know about :)
Our Fall 2011 is definately a DIY wedding filled with personalized goodies. We are designing and making our invites, website, napkins, centerpeices, and favors. We are so excited!
I have been coveting these bowls! Our October wedding is very DIY... I'm sewing fabric flowers and flags, and it seems that I'm either crafting or enlisting Etsy vendors to craft everything possible- but it will be nice to look around and see all the personal touches that will make our day special and unique.
Thank you for the giveaway!!!
Our wedding is going to be in my parents backyard overlooking the lake. We are so excited to encorporate our love for eachother as well as for the lake in every aspect of our wedding.
Everything is our personal stamp on our wedding. We wrote the ceremony script to suit us, our first dance is completely uncommon but completely us, and the date. Our date is the same date as when we had our first date.
My fiance lost his father to Cancer a few weeks before we met.His father's wishes was to be cremated and his ashes thrown in the Wynochee River. One of his favorite places. It is a campground. It was my idea to be married where he was laid to rest. His granddaughter whom I wish he had the chance to of met will also be our flower girl.
twils2001@yahoo.com
I am havning my grandmother's rosary beads wrapped around my bouquet since she passed away last January.
I love love love this giveaway! *fingers crossed*
We are getting married in 32 days and I would LOVE these!
Our personal touch will be in all the decorations, reception floral arrangements, hand painted wooden signs, desserts, guest favors and I'm making the wedding invitations myself!
So many ways we're putting out personal stamp on the wedding. His family grows almonds and I'm from the date capitol of the US so we're also giving out almond date rolls.
As we plan the elements of our wedding, we're constantly asking ourselves if traditions feel like "us"...and if not, we're adapting them or scrapping them altogether. From a purely technical perspective, we're planning to get a wedding monogram that we can use throughout our lives as well. Because I've always loved luxurious paper products and wax seals, we're going to seal our invitations with our monogram for that personal stamp!
Last year, my then-boyfriend kneeled down in the middle of a field at an outdoor music festival amongst thousands of people and proposed as one of our favorite bands played onstage. In less than 3 months, we're getting married and we've incorporated a music theme into our wedding - chipboard CD sleeves for invitations (complete with Notorious B.I.G. quote on the front!), customized band buttons as favors, and my 18 year old brother playing an acoustic version of the song Fiance proposed to me to on guitar for our first dance.
Paloma's Nest is great! Even if we're not lucky enough to win, I'm ordering one for our wedding anyways. Plus, YAY TEXAS!
The personal stamp on our wedding will be showing our guests our passion travel and love of all things whimsical via our shared ferris wheel rides. When we travel to different countries we always make time for a ride on ferris wheels with amazing views of each new city. We love to explore and take in the majestic views from way above. And it's a great time to steal a romantic kiss!
Our budget wedding next November will be full of personal and DIY touches and these little details would fit in perfectly to the whole scheme of the wedding. Not only that, but just thinking of having a hanger with "Mrs. Bedsole" on it gives me goosebumps!! I can't wait to be Mrs. B.
I am just starting wedding planning and already have lots of ideas of ways to personalize! I am having my wedding at the beach in MA and want to incorporate lots of local fare in the decor, food and gift bags! We are going to have lobster rolls and chocolates shaped in seashells and lobsters to start! Looking forward to lots of inspiration from this site over the next year!
Family is really important to both of us. For our wedding next fall we are going to include many little touches to remember our family that can't be there to share our special day with us, specifically wedding photos of our grandparents and i'm going to attach a locket with my father's picture to my bouquet.
My fiance and I are getting married in January and have vowed (hehe) to make this day totally personalized. I am Greek and he is American and we are combining our traditions and heritages. From the music to the food, it will all be a fusion of us. I am a librarian and he is a computer geek, so the escort cards will be library cards and pockets (and a library card was featured on our save the dates) and the tables will all be named after classic and geeky books. We will follow the American tradition of tossing the bouquet and the garter. And we will do the Greek tradition of writing the unmarried bridesmaids names on the bottom of my shoes, and at the end of the night whoever's name is worn off the most will be the next to marry. We will have Greek favors including Jordan almonds but the highlight of the evening will be the Greek dancing followed by American dancing. It is going to be a great party as our families merge together!
We are making our own centerpieces out of candles and lanterns and etching the table numbers into the lanterns as an alternative to traditional table number cards. We are also incorporating moss into the centerpieces and the escort card table since my fiance's favorite color is green and moss reminds me of Ireland, where his family is from.
I love Paloma's nest, such adorable and thoughtful gifts. i purchased a ring bowl for a good friend's bridal shower gift a few months ago and she was in love. For my wedding, I definitely would love to have a ring bowl keepsake in addition to several sweet touches like this. Getting married outside of Woodstock, we are kicking off the wedding with woodstock concert themed save the dates ina rustic look and carrying this theme throughout the wedding with lots of white lights, branches and of course, great rock and roll! Thanks for sharing this giveaway!
I am planning our outdoor wedding for next Fall and plan on doing all the flowers on my own--with help from my bridal party of course!
what a great give away! those bowls are too cute. We are really trying to make this a DIY wedding. I'm really excited about it. I have designed and made my own invites, making lip balm for favors, and I have a friend coming over tomorrow and we are going to start making paper cranes out of sheet music to hang as decoration. I'm collecting mason jars to use as vases and lanterns. My sister-in-law is making the flower girl dresses and I'm making their hair accessories. And my favorite thing I'm doing so far... papier mache cake topper!
I am allergic to garlic and he loves the stuff. We like to joke that garlic powder is the "fairy dust" that keeps us running, since we cook without the stuff, then he can sprinkle to his heart's content.
For our wedding, the meal will be completely garlic-free, but at each table we are putting containers of garlic powder with "fairy dust" labels on them, to be used at our guests' discretion, and our best man is going to explain the significance in his speech.
Getting married September of 2010 (EEeeep a month away!) I did all the calligraphy for the invitations, and for signs we will have at the reception myself. We are using photos of us in sepia for our table numbers (are colors are champagne and chocolate, so the brown tied in well). The groomsmen and my fiance all like to hunt, so I collected wood duck breast feathers to use in the boutiners and my bouquet. I was even able to work the feathers into my garter! This kinda started developing into a "lovebirds" theme through out the rest of the wedding. My father's family is from England so we have Victorian cake pulls for the bridesmaids. I'm pinning my a cameo from my dad's side of the family to my bouquet and will hold the same small white Bible my mother carried down the aisle. Although we found some inexpensive plantable seed favors shaped like hearts, in lieu of a tradition favor, my fiance and I each chose a charity that we will make a donation to in honor of our guests! We will have a big cage for all the cards and a book where we are asking guests to leave a note which we will read on our first anniversary (it IS paper). There are a couple more, but we noticed the personal touches we are most excited about just kinda happened to develop, they were not ones we really tried to plan, just extensions of us that became prominent along the way! Best of luck to all the brides out there!
we are putting our future last name on all of the stationary, napkins and straws too!
I've always loved a house full of family pictures. So I'm planning on getting a wedding picture from various family members to put on each table in antique frames. And maybe some of our favorite family pictures scattered around.
Those little bowls are precious!
I love this giveaway! We're trying to make our wedding totally us, not the traditional wedding reception, combining some of our favorite things we like to do together to share with our guests!
This giveaway is to die for!! We will be using a customized monogram C + J on our invites! Can't wait to show this off!
Our wedding date will be on everything! our giveaway especially so our guests can remember our special day!
Our wedding will be super special, my future hubby will be coming to my house that I've grown up in to pick me up. Its a traditional Chinese gesture. Can't wait!
I love Paloma's Nest, thank you for the giveaway! My fiance and I plan to put our own personal stamp on the day by making our own invitations, and serving our favorite childhood foods at the reception e.g. spaghetti Bolognese, roast chicken and gelato:)
Just a few special touches that we will have on our wedding day: I hand picked a very special scripture to engrave in his ring; special locket with picture of the groom's mother who has passed away to keep in his pocket. We are also wood burning our initials on all the table decoration. And last but not least our wedding favors are flowers...my favorite flower and his :)
I think this give-a-way is so special! I love it!
I heart Paloma’s nest - one of my favorite etsy vendors!!! Our wedding in March will be filled with so many personal stamps beginning with a long list of DIY projects to using my gowns details as décor inspiration. Thanks for the chance to add one more personal touch!
Our wedding is a crazy mish mash of our mixed personalities; one of my most favorite personal touches, are the invitations that my Grampa is designing for us!
And thank you for such a generous give-away!
We are planning a very DIY wedding so the details are very important to us. We wanted the decor and motif to reflect our relationships with the people we love and our relationship with each other. Our motif is a symbol of a heart and an infinity sign. When we first stared going out we would "draw" the symbol into the palm of each others' hands with our fingers as a non-verbal "I love you", we still do this 7 years later. Since it is so meaningful to us we want to incorporate the symbol in our printed materials. We are also using raw cotton for much of our floral decor to represent my great-grandmother. My fiance proposed in December of 2009 in New York, when we returned home from our trip she passed away that weekend. She always kept a raw cotton boll she picked when she was a little girl (which I now have) to remind herself that she never wanted to perform that labor again. Incorporating it in our decor would fill the day with her presence, which would mean a lot to me that day.
My fiance and I are putting our personal stamp on just about everything! We want our wedding to be full of personal touches that reflect us. Just a couple examples: the invitations were designed by us. Our cardbox is going to be one of a kind papermache project of my fiance's favorite stuffed animal.
Oh, how gorgeous! I'd love to have some of those cute bowls for gifts. They're perfect!
We are using lots of diy items, monogrammed things, and lots of purple which is my favorite color. You will definitely know its my wedding :) Love the bowls and new items!
As a wedding photographer, all the little details are important to me. I'm getting married August 2011. We're planning a very simple country chic wedding. I've designed our save the date cards, printing our invitations. We're using Bell jars as part of the decorations and will be re-used later for canning and other purposes. The best part is that my kids are going to walk me down the aisle to my new husband, their step-dad.
I am so excited for this giveaway, as I have admired Paloma's Nest for a while now; we are in the middle of a two year engagement, but I have been browsing and planning from the start. To make our wedding personal, we are involving a ton of our friends and family in the planning and execution of our big day. For instance, my sister (a stylist) is putting together the wedding party's attire, my sister-in-law (a graphic designer) is making our paper goods, my mom (an interior designer) is helping with the decor, and my aunt (a floral designer) is doing our arrangements. We are lucky to be part of such a talented community. And, this gives us the opportunity to collaborate with loved ones to produce something that reflects both me and my fiance; he has been a very involved groom. I look forward to looking around at our reception and seeing all these labor of loves that we dreamed up together and as a group. It is going to make the whole day especially special.
Our friends and family are our family tree so we're welcoming everyone to meet new members of their family. We are incorporating the family "tree" into our wedding ceremony and reception in as many ways possible.
My fiance's name is Kale so of course I will carry a bouquet made of kale and it will be included in all the flowers! We're also having our good friend officiate the ceremony and I'm writing it so that it will be more of a story and include details about how we met etc...Paloma's things make the best gifts, just bought one for my friend's wedding and she absolutely loved that it was personalized with her and her groom's names and wedding date!
We're just about a month away, 32 days, to be exact!
We're getting married in Ashland, Oregon - a destination wedding for all but ourselves. We're so excited to show our sleepy little Shakespeare town to all our friends and family. Those coat hangers would be an adorable touch to the conservatory.
What a very generous gift! My sweetheart John will be composing both the processional and the recessional; we met at music school, so it's an enormous part of our lives and our partnership. I'm also making my favorite raspberry jam as favors, with raspberries from my parents' backyard!
I am getting married in just under 5 weeks. We have put every detail into place and are thrilled to be sharing out modern, pop art inspired, urban, and intimate wedding with our families who will be traveling from as far as Russia to be with us. I have eyed the paloma's nest bowls since the beginning of the planning and would be thrilled to have them be a part of our special day.
One of the ways we are thinking of personalizing our wedding is to use a piece from our save the date card - a pop-up of the state of Pennsylvania (where we both are from, work for and live) and using larger versions for the table names, each table named after a city in our state that is important to us - where we were born, went to school and shared adventures together.
I am getting married JUNE 11, 2011 :D & I love, love, love, love Paloma's Nest. In fact, I have purchased one of their ring bearer bowls for each of my college roommates who have gotten married. My fiance and I plan to personalize our wedding my having a "CANDY LAB" with all of our favorite gummy candies. My fiance is a chemist and so that's why we're having a candy lab and our guests are going to fill individual test tubs with the fun, fabulous candies we have displayed!!!
We're going totally geeky and offbeat with our wedding, because we are indeed a couple of geeks. Video game music, paper craft characters, pizza, my homemade cupcakes, Internet meme themed items, no wedding party, we're writing our own vows, and his best friend is marrying us. It will be full of color and fun... totally us and we aren't compromising a thing!
Such a wonderful Giveaway!
The future hubby and I are getting married in October. We decided that the theme of our wedding is: Whatever We Like. Everything from a non-existent color scheme to Journey & a sing-a-long during the ceremony to DIY details like the programs... Every little tid bit has "us" written all over it (including a Texas-Korean fusion menu)!
I am a lover of vintage thanks to my mother. So I will be using my and my mother's collections for decor as well as DIYing others. My fiance and I both grew up in the same town and will be having our wedding in a historic hotel that is an icon of our town. Also, our favors will be from our most favorite ice cream and candy parlor.
I'm joining in the legions of Paloma's nest fans on this post :) Such a wonderful giveaway!! My fiance and I are getting married May 28, 2011 and family and family traditions are very important to us! Our mothers have put a lot of time and effort through the years researching geneaology on the side and we plan on incorporating "family tree" throughout the papergoods and reception. We'll display the trees and old photos to honor their efforts, use flowers from our mothers' gardens and my fiance's grandmother's canning jars as vases and candleholders to name a few things... and of course plenty of DIY projects!
My fiance and I have expensive taste on a tight budget, so we are hand-making everything...we used a gocco machine for our save the dates, place cards, menus, and escort cards, we are letterpressing our invitations ourselves, an art director friend is designing our invites, we are using Etsy and Ebay for favors and creative inspiration...this would so so well with our handmade feel, and we'd be so appreciative!
I love the products on Paloma's Nest! They're so simple, but beautiful.
We're including our names throughout our entire wedding.
Thanks for the giveaway.
i love paloma's nest and would LOVE to win these incredible goods for my wedding next July! my fiance and i started dating in high school, and i would like to incorporate some "school kid" elements in our wedding.
I am absolutely in love with the products on Paloma's Nest!!! My wedding I want to pay close attention to detail and make it personal and detail oriented. Not only would these be great for my wedding, but also a keepsake from the wedding. Looking at the bowls and hangers can easily take someone beck to revisit their wedding years to come. I think the personal hangers add a great touch to photographs. I can't express in words how much I would love to get something from Paloma's Nest!
I have always loved these adorable bowls! I am still just getting started with my wedding planning, but I hope that it will be very personal to my fiance and me. We plan to design and make all of our save the dates, invitations and programs, and I am hoping my sister will use her silk-screening machine to make canvas out of town welcome bags. I am also asking my teenage brother to play the guitar for the processional.
I love Paloma's Nest! My fiance will be wearing Wolverine cufflinks because he's a comic book nerd :) All the stationary was done by me... I'm not a graphic designer but have learned so much in the last year!!
I love Paloma's Nest! We are personalizing our ceremony by incorporating our family and friends... close friends are officiating, playing the ceremony music, and helping us with our invitations, among other things.
We are having a renewal ceremony in New Zealand since many of my*new* Husband's relatives could not come to our ceremony in Michigan. For this wedding we plan to have only his nieces and nephews involved. His teenage niece and nephew will officiate and the younger ones will be our flower team :).
I would love to make our favors, arrange our own flowers and print our own invitations!
Awww I've seen those everywhere, I think they are soo cute. We are twitter freaks! So we took the idea of love birds theme based on our love to tweet, mostly my fiancee so that will be our personal touch, our colors also reflect us because I love baby blue and he likes orange. Thank you for the chance to win :)
I've wanted a ring bowl from the get go, and my fiance and I have been going back and forth choosing what to put. We finally chose the phrase "First. Last. Forever" because we're each other's first relationships. Then we got the idea of putting the words in different languages to reflect our background: German (his heritage), Quechua (Peru's native language, my heritage), and English (the language we both speak :)
The hanger is the cutest idea, I didn't know it was being made! It'd be such a great add on to customizing our wedding :)
My fiance & I love lots of quirky little details- and we're making loads of little things ourselves for our big day. The placecards are a small handcrafted flowers with each guests names. We're also having some retro touches as well- we scoured craislist to find a pair of vintage chairs- which we will sit in at our "sweetheart table" and then they will be placed at the heads of our dining table in our new home. We're going to have a cute photo wall with family photos & cut outs for our guest to pose in, something seen in a few of the posted weddings- and we just LOVED the idea- so we're making it our own. I'm also making the clutches for the bridesmaids, and the boutineers for the groomsmen. My finace has been making buttons for everyone. :)
I LOVE those stmaped hangers- I think having the dress haning on there would look AMAZING!
We would love to win these adorable special touches for our 10-10-10 wedding in Sedona, AZ. We've worked very hard to incorporate little sentimental touches into our wedding and think that Paloma's Nest is one of the best touches. The "2 branches, 1 tree" bowl is a dead ringer for our wedding as we are including the reading of Captain Corelli's Mandolin which speaks of trees! Love this giveaway; adorable <3
Those would be PERFECT for our wedding this coming October 3rd - in fact, I've already put my eye on a very certain ring bearer bowl. I think the rest of my ladies would love those as gifts as well. Our stamp? Since Matt is from Texas, I'm from BC/Canada, we've tagged our wedding as a big huge block party where the "north meets the south" and incorporating as much as our favourite things about Canada and Texas into our shindig here in Austin, TX. This contest would be so fitting!
We will be having out ceremony on our new land that we have purchased. Many of the reception decor will incorporate twigs and branches from our land (table name holders, escort cards, centerpieces).
We are getting married next May, and as an antique dealer we will be using antiques borrowed from the shop to decorate the church and reception site. This will definitely make the event very "us"!
Andy and I met while working in TV in Fort Myers, FL. I'm a reporter; he's a photojournalist. We've since taken jobs back in my hometown of St. Louis, but we're putting our stamp on our wedding by going back to Fort Myers -- where we met and built our relationship -- for the wedding and adding all sorts of details that are important to us! For starters, our invitations will be very "newsworthy!" We're marrying down the street from where we worked and lived. Food will be locally-caught shrimp and grouper, dessert by one of the best chocolatiers in the country! And he's in Fort Myers:) Sushi from our favorite spot -- where we've celebrated every anniversary to date -- will conclude the reception before we head to an after-party at our favorite lounge! The goodies don't stop there -- brunch will be topped off by the best doughnuts and coffee in all of Fort Myers! We both pay loads of attention to detail -- it's the nature of our jobs! -- and these little touches would be so sweet to share:)
My fiance and I have been lucky enough to travel a lot so the way that I am choosing to personalize my wedding is by having touches of all the places we've been... for example we are incorporating marshallese decorations from the Marshall Islands where we met, and we are using Thailand wish lanterns which we fell in love with while living in Thailand. We have really tried to incorporate a variety of cultures and traditions that are close to our hearts!
We will somehow combine neon colors, daisies, and a French theme!
He is a stained glass artist and I am a jewelry designer so we will be saying our vows under a wooden arbor with an arch made of stained glass and I will be making all of the jewelry for myself and our house party. I have also made a piece for my Christos Desiree gown to replace the flowers. It's a hodge podge brooch made of my grandmother's vintage jewelry and my favorite Alexis Bittar earrings.
We take the plunge September the 25th!!!
I love Paloma's Nest and have been stalking the ring bearer bowls for a while now! It's a must have for our wedding in May. Adore the wedding hangers, esp the "welcome home" one! I'm all about the details for our wedding - I've designed our invitations and will letterpress them myself, as well as the save the date magnets, the programs, the menus and thank you cards. I wanted to put my own stamp on everything, so I'm making it! My mom and I are also sewing all the table linens and collecting vintage bud vases for the tables. I've planned all the little details - from using green apples as place card holders since they are my hubby-to-be's favorite snack, to incorperating our parent's wedding photos on the programs, to finding that perfect swingin band that we can dance to all night long! Love this giveaway!
I'm putting a personal stamp on our wedding day by picking a themed cake topper. It goes great with our wedding reception location!
We're putting our personal stamp on just about everything about our wedding day! We're writing our own vows, eating all our favorite foods (who cares if sushi and spaghetti don't go together?), playing only the tunes we like (no chicken dance!), and DIY-ing most of the decorations with the help of family and friends. We're also eating ice cream cake, brownies, and cheesecake for dessert (more favorite foods).
Still trying to figure out a date (narrowed down to September 30, 2011 or October 7, 201)
We're incorporating lots of personal touches - we're designing and self-printing the save the dates and invites, creating our own vintage/enviro feel for the space (by sewing bunting out of old family fabric scraps), and having a bagpipe-led procession through the streets of the small town (after processing out of church and walking to the reception site). Thanks for the giveaway!
For our wedding, we plan on having our dogs be part of the wedding party because we raised both of them since the beginning of our relationship! I'm also planning on doing all the bouquets and floral centerpieces as I adore flowers and want them to reflect my feelings for my future husband as well as all the loved ones present!
These hangers would be great for photos and the bowls match our color scheme perfect!! Would love this give away!
Our personal stamp is that we will be getting married at the coffee shop where we first met!
We're putting that special personal stamp on our wedding through all the little details we're incorporating into the ceremony, reception, and the whole weekend! We can't wait!
I’ve been drooling over the “To Have & To Hold” ring bearer bowls ever since we got engaged – so gorgeous. We are holding our wedding on an old ferry boat and Maritime regulations wont allow the flower girl to toss flower petals (I guess it's a problem when they blow in the lake). It’s really important to me that my niece feels like she has a special role on our wedding day and I would love for her to carry the ring bearer bowl down the aisle with our wedding bands tied to it! Plus, I still take my ring off every night and i would love to use the bowl for years to come!
I am recently engaged so this is my first time to enter a give away on your site! I am so excited about Paloma's work...it is gorgeous! My groom is from Texas and I am from the south so we plan on incorporating a lot of southern touches into our wedding from the flowers to the food and the music! What could be better then that?!
We plan on incorporating our love of travel & our own backgrounds. I am from Canada/China and my fiance is from Pennsylvania...these bowls are just too adorable!!
We're writing our own ceremony with favorite poems and songs, so every minute is perfectly us. :)
My fiance and I are having an intimate wedding with our family and closest friends, which will allow us to shower our guests with the attention and love they deserve for being such an important part of our lives. From the stationery to the ceremony to the music playlists, everything will have our personal touch on it. Thanks for this lovely opportunity!
We are attempting rustic chic with our December/Church/Historic Ballroom Wedding, and Paloma's Nest accessories would be the perfect accents to our affair! They would be a great way to tie in the rustic chicness (spell check allowed that one!) we are going for...I can already see them in our photographs!
I love this website and visit it on a daily basis. We have come across some really fantastic ideas we are incorporating into our own wedding. The ring bearers bowls are precious and the stamped hangers are completely original. Thanks for the opportunity to participate in the contest!
One of my favorite things about our wedding is that my clothing ensemble will consist of borrowed items. I am wearing my mom's dress, my future mother-in-law's veil, my sisters headpiece and my grandmother's pearls. My fiance's uncles will also be officiating the ceremony.
We incorporated a lot of personal details into our wedding day but possibly my favorite aspect is our involvement of our two cultures- Korean and Cuban. We are using traditional Korean wedding ducks for our wedding cake topper and many Cuban songs (including our first dance).
My fiancee and I are huge homebodies, so we're planning to have our wedding reception at my parent's house with our favorite homemade foods, and homemade decorations. It will be a lot of work, but we wouldn't have it any other way!
Hi there!
Love your website, & love ummm, ALL of the beautiful things made by Palomas Nest! Isn't she just amazing.
Our wedding is on February 11 2011, on our 4 year anniversary :) We will be travelling 2 states to my beloved's home state so I'm not able to give our wedding all the personal touches I would like too in terms of surroundings & set up so I am compensating by doing a RIDICULOUS amount of DIY.
Which given we moved away from our friends & family for the Mr's work & I am a stay at home mum of our gorgeous 2yr old son, really does mean diy - and mostly at night after little ones bed time.
I am in the process of folding 1000 paper cranes for decorations, making crepe paper pom poms, I made a little package for each of my bridesmaids to ask them & special cards for each of the flower girls, making our own photobooth backdrop & props, handcrafting favours from clay, Sewing little bags to put them in, putting together a cd of our favourite songs to go with favours, making a crossword for guests to attempt while we are having photos taken, handmade all the engagement invites/save the dates/invites/programs/menus & thank you cards (which involved a ridiculous amount of hand sewing), hand cutting & sewing all the table runners, tea staining 100's of luggage tags, making the centrepieces, doing all the flowers myself, making a storybook of how Mr & I met & our our life together (so far!) as part of my gift for him, collecting vintage plates, will be making the desert myself. I'm feeling conscious of how much space I'm taking up so I'll stop now :s But as you can see, I'm about drowning in diy! All the bridesmaids are choosing their own dresses & hairstyles, we are having a friend who is a celebrant performing the ceremony & also had a friend who is a designer make my dream dress. The chef we have hired will be creating an Asian banquet in a nod to our first date being to Yum Cha.
I'm SO hoping I win!!! Thanks for the opportunity x
Wow this is so exciting, I get on this blog at least once a day and I heart Paloma's Nest, (love the etsy shop). Everything that will be used in our September 2011 wedding will be borrowed from family members, crystal, dinnerware, an amazing chandelier, or made! My dad will be making our arch way and my mom and I will be making all the flower arrangements. Also, my mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and I will be making all the deserts! We plan on using brooches in the wedding and giving them to our mothers and grandmothers, and I would love to accompany the brooches with a keepsake bowl! We're also having the wedding at a vineyard right between my hometown and the town where he lives now, I can't wait to incorporate everything from our families into the beginning of ours! (And hopefully some gifts from Paloma's Nest!)
I'm not going to lie...I am so not your typical DIY-bride; I am more of your "pay-full-price for it without realizing that it could be much cheaper" if I just did the project on my own type of girl! However, my fiance and I decided to push our original wedding date back and put our resources into buying our first home instead. Best decision we made, by the way, but took a little convincing on my part for sure. We have a new wedding date of October 16th, but as a result of our new-found mortgage, we are doing everything ourselves. The big day will be at my aunt's house and family and friends will be doing the flowers, officiating, food, and music! My personal stamp on our wedding is getting down and dirty with all of the DIY projects that I would have shied away from before-invitations, jewelry, matchbooks-you name it, I'm trying it! I love Paloma's Nest, beautiful artwork that is a lasting remembrance of the day, what could be better! Thanks so much!
Our own "stamp" will include local food trucks at our reception so that there will be a little bit of everything for everyone!
I can't wait!
Too cute! I'd love our flower girl to walk down the aisle holding our rings on a personalised dish. Even if we don't win I think I'll be heading to the Paloma website to order one :)
The stamp of our wedding day will be left in the hearts of our guests with a sprikle of music, a splash of booms, a dollop of tears and an abundance of love. I can't wait for our wedding day. March 2011 just can't come quickly enough xx
Our October wedding is 'Rocktober' themed - it's all 80's rocky! I'm a graphic designer, so A LOT of our wedding is personalized. I designed the STD's, the invites, the programs, the reception signs, the favors, the thank you cards, . . . oh, and I even designed custom stamps!
My fiance and I are both in law school and paying for our own wedding, so we have been working hard to create a great wedding! To personalize our wedding without breaking the bank I reached out to a good friend from college who is a fantastic graphic designer and asked her to custom make our invitations. She has done a fantastic job and really added a personal touch to our wedding!
I love Paloma's Nest collections! I'm obsessed! It's so classic looking and a great way to personalize your day! I am getting married next September to my gentoo, my soul mate! SMP is addictive and so inspirational! Good luck to all the brides out there!
One of our many personal touches will be my fiance's two musically talented nephews playing acoustic guitar for the ceremony :) Also, instead of a groom's cake, we are offering lots of different homemade pies from local friends!
we are doing a lot of personal things for our wedding on october 2, 2010. i'm sewing our flower girl's dress and runners for our tables. my mom made the bridesmaid dresses and customized my gown. my dad is making wooden initials for our sweetheart table at the reception. i am ordering flowers online and making all the arrangements myself. my fiance is a wedding videographer, so we asked a friend to shoot video on our wedding day, but he'll edit the final product himself. i'd love to win the prize from paloma's nes so that we could have a lasting keepsake for our rings.
we're making a lot of our decorations and using our names and monogram throughout the ceremony decor. This would be an amazing win!!
We're making everything we can while keeping our personalities in mind! I'm doing all the paper products and I'm excited to be making 1 inch buttons. When I met my fiance he was in a band and everybody back then would buy buttons from the bands they liked!
i love paloma's nest. the "personal stamp" we've added to our wedding is everywhere. we have planned every detail together: from ceremony readings to gathering glassware & antique books from thrift store for table decor to asking family members for photos of our grandparents' wedding days that will be displayed at the reception.
We both work in theatre, so we are using our skillz to put together an entertaining (but not too long!) fun ceremony and reception and using the help of all our talented friends!
We are writing our own vows for our wedding! It's the only day where we can stand in front of all our families and friends and profess our love for each other, so we thought it would be more "us" if we said what was in our hearts rather than repeating someone's words. We then plan to frame the vows in side-by-side frames to display forever!
Amazing giveaway!! We are incorporating many personal details in our wedding. Some of which are writing our own vows, making our favorite desserts as favors, and having a family friend marry us.
kikisescapades(at)gmail(dot)com
Paloma's nest is awesome. And I love SMP. My fiance and I our paying for our wedding on our own. We want to have a nice wedding with all the little personal touches, but on super budget. I've already done a lot of things for the reception myself, like favor boxes and place cards. We're setting up a table using several of the cookie jars from my grandmother's collection filled to the brim w/ all different kinds of cookies to honor her memory. She was very important to me and I'd like to feel like she's there with us on that day. Little details can get pricey, winning this for my little ringbearer to carry would be amazing!
My daughter is getting married next June and we are DIY'ing all over the place. Our personal stamp will be several themed items that will tie back to their courtship. This is a great giveaway. Thanks for the chance to win.
I love all of Paloma's Nest items! They are so unique and make weddings extra special! I am striving to make our wedding personalized in every detail... handwriting letters to every guest, making the welcome bag goodies, stamping the save the dates and invites, growing succulents for the arrangements, and customizing everything! After reading through some of the comments, everyone has such great ways to personalize their wedding!
We are creating our own personal logo/monogram! I love these ring bearer dishes - but they were an extra not within our budget! I would love to use these as a way to tie in a logo or monogram or something for a more personal touch.
I just saw these in a magazine and fell in love with hem. They are so cute. I am getting married in April 2011 at San Ysidro Ranch. I would love to surprise my man with a special saying that remind him of me or just simply the dates. I would probably put " I am just not there yet" on his and on mine "I am there are your kidding me!"
We are getting married on 9/25 and are putting our personal stamp on just about everything... and perhaps bitten off a little more than I can chew! I bought a yudu this past weekend and started screenprinting the welcome bags (LITERALLY PUTTING OUR STAMP ON IT!)... even though we havent set the music list, menu, written our vows, etc. YIKES!! I am going to start passing off some of these duties to my family and friends b/c I clearly have a ton a do and just a little more time. It would be great to have these little extras so I can focus on the bigger "still unplanned" details!
I love the tiny text bowls! I have been dreaming about one for my own ring and would love to give them as gifts to my bridesmaids, too!
My soon-to-be-husband and I live in Portland, Oregon in the heart of its' small urban center. In addition to all of the recent industries giving Portland notoriety- delicious food carts, homemade beer, and steaming cups of Stumptown coffee-Portland is known for the magnificent bridges that span the Willamette river. One such bridge-The Broadway-is the color of the autumn sun at dusk and dutifully connects NW Portland to its' easternly half. The plan is to "stamp" our personalities on the occasion by meeting in the middle of the bridge for our first glimpse of one another on our wedding day. To us it symbolizes meeting half way on all of our endeavors and allows us to appreciate the immense beauty of the city we call home. The Broadway Bridge connects us to our past and will allow us to move towards our future all while relishing in our pre-occupation with bridges.
My fiance and I are putting our own personal stamp on our wedding day by including our family in every way possible. This began when we decided to use my great-grandmother's diamond in my engagement ring. We hand silk-screened and letterpressed our save-the-dates and invitations with my fiance's sister in Pittsburgh, who is an artist. Our website was designed and created by my brother, a graphic designer. My mother is sewing my wedding dress at this very moment! My father is building a chuppah for the ceremony. And, my fiance's dad is making wooden signs to direct guests to different parts of the wedding. We cannot wait for our October wedding to be marked by our family through and through!
We're doing everything we can think of to personalize every feature of the day. From the save the dates that I designed, printed, stamped, addressed, etc. myself, to a rhinestone owl brooch in my bouquet for one of our inside jokes, to a guitar and mandolin cake topper because we both play both, to a popcorn bar favor station for our movie theater reception venue...we're enjoying the pursuit of everything creative. I'm also a fan of Paloma's Nest...I LOVE all of the stunningly simple and lovely porcelain items! I already invested in a Paloma's Nest Christmas ornament that hung at the top of my tree this year...and would love to have more pieces for our wedding day!
Love the items at Paloma's Nest!! We're doing lots of handmade personal touches.... I made my bridal headwear, clutch purses for my bridesmaids, table linens, cake topper (and many more little things).... and my fiancee is making our cupcake tree. We're both creative people, and it was important to us that we put our artistic/craftsperson roots to work!
We would really like like to incorporate the dove bowls with the gold gilding on our wedding day. The dove is so important to a Catholic ceremony as it represents the Holy Spirit. It's just a great way to recognize the blessing over our rings & our lives! <3
I love Paloma's Nest! Our personal touch on our wedding day will be including our family as much as possible...even those that arent with us anymore. My fiance's father passed away from cancer and in lieu of a favor/gift, we are making a donation to the American Cancer Society in his name. We know he'll be with us in spirit that day, and this will be a nice way to honor him.
We are growing spices, basil plants and succulents for favors.... And doing a lot of DIY projects for decor.
Almost everything for our wedding has been DIY.....my personal favorite is the finger print and signature tree with was completely done by hand!!
Our personal stamp will be in the music and the food. We love to dance, especially to killer 80's jams, so we couldn't think of anything better than to have a fun 80's dance party! We also love breakfast food, I think the first thing I learned how to cook was pancakes and we ate pancakes just about 4 times a week for months. So for appetizers we're having a mini pancake bar!
Still in the early planning stages, but I will be making my own invitations, and I'm contemplating sewing all the Bridesmaid dresses. I'm also going to have squares of material for the guests to sign instead of a guestbook and after the wedding I'll sew them into a keepsake quilt. And, hopefully I'll be doing my own centerpieces. I have a year to plan left so hopefully I can get all these projects finished!
I am in love with the "nests" and hangers. I am so lucky to be committing my life to a man who truly completes me. We plan to put a personal stamp on our wedding with a gospel choir (I love to sing) and a champagne tasting (we are very into wine tasting and celebrations).
We're having our wedding in NYC, so we're playing up the Big Apple theme throughout our wedding details. We're also adding our "personal stamp" quite literally by handstamping the rehearsal dinner invitations and out of town bags!
Aawwww what a lovely give away!
Our stamp..is something I am doing at this time... stamping each save the date... what a job!!! lol. With my love and I both in love with fashion and wardrobe... me vintage him classic our wedding will be full of that and our love for one another...
I would love to win this! We are honoring our Mexican heritage by having a traditional Catholic Mass with Mariachi, and a Banda for the reception.
Our wedding is infused with personal details that represent us. From honoring my Cherokee heritage in the wedding ceremony to the choreographed first dance. Our wedding is a true representation of us, especially through all the DIY projects we've made!
This would be cool for my fiance! We have done many DIY projects that will make our wedding "us." My fiance has quilted a quilt and I am making all the wooden signs. We are a very hands-on couple and are taking on many projects to contribute to our wedding.
I absolutely ADORE paloma's nest! I bought a silverleaf ring bowl a few months ago, and it is amazing. After my mom died, our wedding budget pretty much disappeared. We are DIYing absolutely everything. I'm so excited to finally marry the man of my dreams and be a part of such a wonderful family since mine is all gone now. This giveaway would mean so much to us, especially since we love her creations!
To honor and celebrate a Japanese-American cultural tradition, I'll be folding 1,001 origami cranes that will then be arranged into my fiance's family crest and the Chinese character of my family name. We plan to have his crest and my family name side by side in a large frame, and displayed during our wedding. We have family and friends helping us fold the cranes, and I love that they will be adding their own personal touch to a very special memento for our wedding.
I have been eyeing Paloma's Nests gorgeous ring bowls for some time! We are getting married in 4 weeks time, in the gorgeous Southern Alps in NZ. SMP has helped to infuse so so many gorgeous details and personality into our day - from signature bird stamped doiley lollie bags to bunting and blackboards.
Our bowl would read "Live Laugh Love" - the way we live our lives. XX
We're making sure to include elements of things we love - ice cream, chalkboard, great music!
Everything on our wedding day will have our stamp on it - our whole wedding is pretty much DIY!
Everything that my fiance and i are deciding for our January wedding have our own personal touch. Our invites are DIY with the special words that really meant something to us. Our location is special to us because that is a nearby area where he proposed. And every other detail will truly show our personality and love to share to with our love ones on our wedding day.
Hi! I'm getting married next month in Pacific Grove, CA. It's the most special place in the world to us, as it was our first vacation, and we have gone back so many times, our love really is in the scenery there. I'm an artist and he's a writer, and we've taken the last 8 months to design our wedding and do it all our own. We've put our own personal stamp on everything, using the central coast of California as our inspiration board. Since it's a destination wedding, it's going to be a 3 day bash with 30 of our closest friends/family. We're renting a beautiful house on the Bay, where the wedding party will be crashing and using it as "home-base" for the weekend. I hand-carved a mono-print sketched from a tree that we're getting married under and hand printed them on all our invites. Using that stamp on hand made welcome bags that will await the guests at their hotel, filled with locally made fudge and helpful info with quirky marriage quotes. We've been collected tin cans and glass jars that I've been crafting into lanterns to illuminate our special night. I've sewn our table linens, made our cake stand, made fabric banners and hand made props for our photo booth, turned cardboard into all sorts of signs, including a chalk board for our menu. Since he's a writer, we've come up with tons of literary sources on marriage and love that are being sprinkled throughout the wedding weekend (who doesn't love reading bad love poetry in the bathroom?). We've taken the best of our relationship, creativity, and words to create a weekend that could be no one elses, but ours!
I would love to have the text bowl "LAUGH OFTEN". Laughing is good for the soul!
For our wedding (in May next year) we're planning to try and add little personal touches throughout the day... small elements which fit in to our bigger theme of photos and family. We're decorating our reception venue with photos of our parents' wedding days and each table will have a photo of my fiancee's 8 year-old daughter Megan. I want Megan to feel like she is part of our new family unit so I am making every effort to include her and make her feel special.
My bff is getting married on New Years Eve - and I would love to win the ring dish and hangers for her! Her "personal stamp" is that they are serving gourmet churros to celebrate her Mexican background :)
It must be meaningful to bear the couple's name on dishes or glasses.
My fiancé and I will be putting our stamp on the day with our music choices and by incorporating references to the marriages we've grown up admiring--our parents' and grandparents'. I'll be using my grandmother's beautiful diamond wedding band. I can't wait to wear it, and would love a Paloma's Nest bowl to keep it safe before our vows and every night afterward.
My sister is a graphic designer, and she has graciously offered to do our invitation suites! Completely custom and completely "us." I'm also working on several DIY projects including table runners, pinwheels, and escort card display!
Our personal stamp will be applied to our wedding combining my fiance's love of history with my love of sewing & all things fabric. The engagement ring he gave me is a vintage from 1940 so I used that as a jumping off point. We are hiring a gypsy jazz band to play old time favorites from the 30's & 40's. I also found a seller on etsy offering vintage Japanese silk that a soldier from WWII brought back from his tour. I will be using this fabric for my dress. I couldn't keep it a secret from my fiance and when I told him what I had found he was so moved. I will also be growing all of our flowers at a community garden plot and arranging them with my bridesmaids.
We just started wedding planning but are already talking about incorporating our favorite places we've been and making the day all about our love for each other.
We have already purchased two of the customizable Ring Bearer Bowls for our parents. We would love to have one for ourselves and some gifts to share with the other important people in our wedding. Our personal touches for our wedding include DIY Table Numbers, Escort Cards, Napkin Rings, Guest Book and Fireplace Mantle decorations. We are including the "generations" photos on the fireplace of all of our parents, siblings and grandparents wedding photos. I also have made all of our Thank You cards that we have used for our showers and that we will use for the wedding.
We are doing lots of DIY projects, all involving a "signature" fabric that I am using to make napkin ties, line envelopes. etc.
We're literally using a "personal stamp"-- my sister is an artist, and lovingly crafted a fun, simple line-drawing of my fiance and I that we turned into a stamp and stickers-- we're using them to seal the envelopes, stick on menu cards, anything fun. She also has designed a cake topper to match!
As a graphic designer who just moved from NYC back to her roots in Ohio to reconnect with and now marry a boyfriend from 10 years ago (!!!)... I have a lot of plans to put our own stamp on our wedding. We met at a Country Concert and grew up just two miles away from one another in the middle of farm country... so we're going to have a good down-home country wedding complete with corn on the cob and a hog roast! Cowboy hats and boots are extra credit! We picked a beautiful old 1825 farmhouse from Ohio frontiersman and settler Simon Kenton so we definitely plan to embrace the Ohio factor (after all, I'm a Ohio settler now once again as well!). So we plan to include the history of the property in the invitations as well as our history with a rustic feel. Also programs will be in booklet format so that they can include a lot of extra details of the history behind common wedding traditions. We're all about making history and celebrating ours!
We are having a VERY personal wedding ceremony and reception in ONE MONTH! :) There will be a total of 25 people, including ourselves. My fiance is leaving for Officer Training School for the Air Force in early November, so we've had to put together our amazing shabby-chic wedding in less than 2 months. We live in a small town in Northern Arizona, Flagstaff, and with the help from our families, friends and community this is happening. We met in Flagstaff 5 years ago during college, and we haven't left! We absolutely love, love, LOVE this town. There was no where else to have our wedding. Our #1 personal stamp: We used the vintage "Welcome to.." (Flagstaff) postcards as our invitations, with hand written notes to each of our loved ones to come and celebrate with us! Our #2 personal stamp: We wanted to do something small, and personal. More like a picnic with our families. So, we have decided to do 3 separate cakes, on 3 different cake stands, of our 3 favorite flavors! (o.k. i'll tell you: chocolate raspberry, coconut and red velvet) I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THE TABLE! with mason jars, small tea-lights, gorgeous flowers, delicious cakes and our closest friends and family! AMAZING!
My hubby-to-be and I are using a tandem bike throughout the wedding. We even bought a vintage one on craigslist to use during our engagement pics!
It may be considering cheating for me to throw my name into the hat as my wedding already passed. My husband and I were married in May of last year and we had a Ring Bearer Bowl for our ceremony, stamped with words from our engagement. Unfortunately our bowl was "lost" at some point during the reception, which I found out a month later as I tried to collect it from the Ring Bearer's parents. It made me incredibly sad as it was a keepsake I hoped to have for the rest of our lives!
Our wedding is very personal because it will be a quaint destination wedding in the Caribbean the week of Valentine's Day. We're getting extra personal by making a monogrammed, nautical themed bag for all of the guests equip with all of the "vacation" necessities. We're doing all of this for our guests but don't have anything like this for our rings so this would be a nice touch to the wedding.
We're 'stamping' the entire wedding with our own details, since we are doing everything ourselves! A long engagement and an organized to do list have helped us make our wedding a reality! Having a Paloma's Nest piece in our wedding would help put the sparkle in our stamp!
OUr December wedding in Mexico will be filled with intimate, personal touches. My fiance's sister is marrying us, my mom is manking mexican wedding cake cookies for favors and we will have welcome bags with all of our favorite Mexican goodies - including personalized metal water bottles and hats! I think the delicate white ring bearer bowl would be perfect on the beach!! Thanks for another great SMP giveaway!
Have long admired the Ring Dishes, and now the hangers are equally personal and fantastic - kudos to Paloma's Nest and thanks for the great giveaway opportunity!!
We're putting a personal stamp on our wedding in a few different ways- rather than doing a traditional favor, we're donating to the "Life is Good" foundation, as it's something that we feel strongly about and try to live every day.
My mother is doing our flowers, friends are hosting at their barn, and I will be sewing table coverings from beautiful saris!
We plan on including a lot of DIY touches, as well as some callbacks to both our parents' weddings to put our personal stamp on the day.
We're having a mariachi band in addition to a DJ so that we can celebrate our heritage :)
We will be incorporating our style into every aspect of our wedding. We'll be having a small and very intimate wedding in Florida at a boutique style restaurant/hotel. The focus will be on two of our favorite things: Food and wine. We rented a beautiful mansion for our family so they can vacation with us the week after the wedding. Our guests will be treated to personalized gift bags and a pre-wedding/post-wedding celebration bash. Our main focus is that everybody have fun and that it be laid back.
It's so fun reading everyone's great ideas! My fiance and I are getting married in the church where his parents and grandparents were married-- and where he proposed. We're throwing in lots of little personal touches, like the 150 DIY napkins we've cut, hemmed, and then screenprinted with a love quote. The quote is from Jane Eyre, my favorite book and one my fiance read before we were dating in order to catch my attention. :)
My FH and I are getting married next October and we are putting our personal stamp on everything. We are big DIY-ers and we're designing everything from our invitation suite (including save the dates) to our favors. I actually purchased a few custom stamps online on Etsy- 1 for the envelopes with our return address; another "seal" stamp for the back of the invite envelopes; and another for our favor tags! I designed each stamp "template" and sent them to the etsy seller for creation =) Also- our favors are cookie mixes in a jar and I've asked my bridesmaids/MOH to ask the ladies attending my bridal shower to bring along a CLEAN spaghetti jar to be upcycled for the favors! I'm an econut, so this is like my own personal "eco-bride" stamp on my wedding
We plan on putting a personal touch everywhere in our Spring wedding. Monogrammed napkins, wreaths, cups. We even plan on having personalized coloring books for our "little" guests.
I took a copperplate calligraphy class and am practicing day and night so that I'll be able to hand address all our invitation envelopes, place cards, and other fun details with a personal twist :)
We are getting married at my FH's childhood home. We are planning on making most of the food for the reception including the cake & cake topper.
Our personal stamp on the big upcoming day will be the music. From pre-ceremony to the last dance, we're putting so much effort into showing our guests our love for each other through song. Even our vows are the words to a song (I Will Not Take My Love Away by Matt Wertz). I would love to put a sweet line on the ring bearer bowl we could keep forever!
I would love to win these! I have been drooling over them ever since I started my wedding planning and discovered them! We are getting married in the same church as my fiance's parents and grandparents, and our reception is in an old converted mill building, which is fitting considering both he and I have family histories in the Southern textile mills.
My personal internal stamp for my wedding is to HAVE A BLAST NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS ON MY WEDDING DAY. Being super hands-on in the wedding planning has taught me that I need to roll with the punches. Last month my wedding dress was damaged by the cleaners and I immediately went out to buy a new one from a lovely and kind lady that I found on criagslist. My friends were horrified but I had no time to waste. :)
As for my personal stamp/touches , I'm doing my own flowers. But my recent idea is to make a HUGE puzzle for the guest to enjoy of our favorite engagement picture and have the same puzzle on a paper where people use as a guide and for the guest to claim their piece that they connected and write a message for us. Also, on our custom made tea set party favor we are attaching tags that say "anti-wedding" quotes like "don't do it!" or "this is your last chance to get out!" My fiance who is sarcastic thought it would be funny.
Oooo...personal stamp on our wedding happened four years ago :), but I'm hoping for a five-year vow renewal party that could definitely include these lovelies!
What beautiful pieces from Paloma's Nest! Just set our wedding date: July 14, 2012. I already have my heart set with incorporating purple into the color palette, and thus a wine (and woods) theme emerged for our reception. I saw a great post on SMP, La Belle Bride, or one of the other wonderful wedding blogs I found through following SMP with wooden votive holders. From this, my fiance drew up plans to make name place settings in a similar way. They'll be triangular in shape, so they can stand on the table. We're planning on displaying them near the entrance of the venue, probably hanging on tree branches of some kind.
We are putting a personal stamp on our wedding by incorporating our personal style into every single part of our wedding, be it the menus, the guest sign-in tree, the gift card holding boxes, the flowers, everything. These bowls are so beautiful and would really fit in with our classic, simple and rustic wedding.
Wow - what an exciting giveaway! My fiance is from Trinidad, so we're hoping to have a pan and jazz band play at our cocktail hour and during dinner to bring in more of his culture and our shared love of this music.
Thanks for the chance to win!
My fiancé and I are getting married in the White Mountains in New Hampshire. The venue itself is our stamp on our wedding, it's our favorite camping spot and my fiancé loves to fish the rivers there. We are going to be naming the tables after different Rivers in the region and tying white birch bark around the centerpieces. I love these Paloma's Nest items. They'd be the perfect addition to our classic/rustic wedding.
I love Paloma's Nest! I plan on buying some of her stuff for my wedding regardless of winning, but winning would definitely be nice!
I'm making paper flowers for the boutonnieres and to put in the bouquets from old books of ours. I'm also doing the majority of the decorations, such as the paper pom poms and bunting. We're also wanting to incorporate some sort of travel/asian theme in there since we're moving to Japan after we get married to teach english.
Wedding planning can be hectic enough as our time is taken trying to figure out which photographer to use and the list of music for the DJ. Sometimes the little details like a ring bearer plate is overlooked. I never even though to look for something like this and now I couldn't image a wedding with one.
My family lives in Laguna Beach, CA but we are getting married in Rye, NY. laguna is home to a great artist Wyland who paints all underwater wild life with proceeds going to his Wyland Foundation which dedicated to promoting, protecting, and preserving the world’s ocean, waterways, and marine life. Wyland also started a winery with the bottles painted by Wyland depicting various ocean life. We will have our first bottle at each table be from the Wyland vineyard, proceeds from that purchase going toward the Wyland Foundation, Laguna Beach, CA.
oh i would love to win this!
we have almost no budget for our wedding but i'm thrilled with the possibilities to make it really 'us' anyway! one element that i'm excited about are the vows: my fiancé is french and so i am going to proclaim my vows to him in his language, and he will say his in my language, english. the reception will be peppered with details too, like take-home cloth napkins with some of our favorite recipes printed on them.
thanks so much for hosting theis giveaway!
after a long engagement (19 months!!) i designed and hand made our std's, as well as designing and hand making our invitations (i'm talking cutting, printing, the whole sha-bang!). also handmaking escort cards and favors...basically trying to make as much as i can to cut costs...i heart paloma nest ring bowls...they are so sweet.
I plan on doing lots of DIY projects, but my favorite will be the guest book table. We're asking all of our grandparents to send in pictures of them on their wedding days so that our families will be represented as we become one family together. We'll frame them and have them set up around the guestbook along with "in memory" candles that I'll also make myself.
We are trying to incorporate not just our talents and DIY capabilities but also our friends and family. We started with our save the dates and invitations which were hand made by my soon to be brother in law! He hand drew both and we had a great time putting it all together. I purchased my dress second hand from Bride's for Breast Cancer and have been working with a local seamstress to make it the dress I have always pictures. The favors are going to be flashdrives for each family with our wedding slide show and engagement photos! The cake is being created by my fiance's stepmom, in which it will be a mountain theme with our local mountain shown in front. Instead of cake stands we are cutting up logs from my mom's yard to stack each section. For bouquets the bridesmaids and I are walking to the local farmer's market and designing our own arrangements from local flower farms. Every chance we get we try to make the wedding ours!
i've DIYed the invitations, rehearsal dinner invites, programs and a whole lot more. i would love a paloma's nest bowl to go with all the other stamping that has in our wedding theme. i'm indian so most people assume it will be a huge several day wedding however, I am a Catholic, so our wedding is a simple traditional Catholic wedding. my stamps helped add a hint of my indian hertiage to everything.
We are featuring lots of personal touches at our October wedding. My favorite is that my mom and I are doing all of the flowers, including the bouquets and boutonnieres!
oh, how i have adored her work for so long! i want to incorporate rustic elegance and these goods are TOO perfect! I plan to write a sweet message on the bottom of the groom's shoes! I just think it would be such a sweet little surprise. Also, my best friend (who has INCREDIBLE handwriting) is going to address my invitations. The groom's mother is going to make little baked goodies! I want everyone to feel like they had a piece of themselves in the details- because they have all contributed to each of our lives.
We're going to have a table filled with wedding photos of friends and family near the place cards. It will give our guests a chance to mingle along the old and new photos. Plus, I can't wait to show off my great-grandmother's gorgeous old photographs!
My fiancee and I are having an art deco theme wedding with a touch of carolyn bessette kennedy class. We're getting married Sept 22, 2012 at Eolia Mansion (Harkness Memorial State park). It's one of waterford, CT best kept secret. Eolia is filled with old world class, romance, and complete tranquility. It has everything a bride would want from a long Island over view to senic gardens. My fiancee also proposed to me here. Paloma's beautiful elegant bowl would be such a lovely accent to our themed wedding and a wonderful hierloom to pass on to our children and grandchildren to come.
I am having a total DIY wedding in Sept. I designed and printed my invitations, my mom and I are doing all the flowers. My mother and aunt are growing all the flowers in their gardens. The wedding is outdoors and reception is under a tent. I'm make hair clips for all the bridemaids, make a guest book, and we are having a baked goodies table. My fiance likes to cook and is very well known for his grilling so we are making up a special spice and putting is in hand stamped cloth bags for the favors. We want our wedding to be relaxed, fun, and enjoyable. We want it to reflect us.
I ADORE Paloma's Nest's ring dish! I've always been pretty excited about having a "Ring warming" part to the ceremony of our wedding. All of our guests would have an opportunity to hold our rings and say a blessing or prayer over the rings and infuse our rings with warm thoughts and good ju-ju! My fiance however was not too excited about having our rings passed through 250 guests outdoors, so I showed him the ring dish and now he is on board! We are both so lucky to have 2 full communities supporting us and it feels so much more appropriate to have our rings blessed by ALL of these people instead of just one person!
i would love to win the hangers!! they would make the perfect photo opp for my vintage diy inspired wedding :)
These would be so cute for my theater wedding!
To make our June 11, 2011 wedding uniquely us... (Us being me, an artist, teacher, photographer... and Nick, my fiance, the architect) we are getting married in a local photography gallery (a restored early 1930s warehouse) and then heading over to the top floor of the Chase Tower at the Canton Club in Canton, Ohio for an architectural, vintage inspired reception.
We have done a pretty good job combining the artist and architect elements into our wedding.
My HTB and I have been so inspired by the amazing real weddings on Style Me Pretty that we've found the ambition to DIY our September wedding. He designed all of the stationary, my mom and I are making the wild flower table arrangements and bouquets, the guest favors include things that remind us of our childhoods, my dad hand cut and painted all of the welcome signs, and the HTB has created the photo booth complete with homemade silly props...mustache anyone?
It is also here that I fell in love with Paloma's Nest...those bowls are so cute!
Our wedding will have several personal touches sprinkled throughout. Our dog will serve as ring bearer (with my MOH as his "assistant"), my aunt is making our dessert (cupcakes), the floral arrangements will be all DIY, and our centerpieces will be photos of us growing up and of us during our 7 year courtship.
We're leaving our "stamp" by having numerous DIY projects and just keeping it in the back of our mind that the day is about us =)
I LOVE all things SMP and Paloma's Nest! So great! We are putting our stamp on the day by incorporating both my culture (American) and my fiance's (Indian/ Pakistani). We will have lots of different food, customs, and tradition!
My Fiancee and I are of mixed race and we're combining alot of foods from his Jamacian and my Italian heritage...any of the above gifts would make our wedding day that much more romantic. We are on a very strict budget and those gifts would just add that special touch
My fiance and I are getting married next April. We are definitely on a budget so we are trying to do as many things as we can ourselves, and are lucky enough to have super creative friends to help out. I think all of the personal touches will make the whole day so much more memorable.
My friend Emily is getting married. The couple is adding their own personal touch by having their beloved pet turtle to be the ring bearer
My sister is getting married in January. This would be a lovely surprise gift for her! :)
Next month, my fiancee and I will celebrate our wedding with a reception filled with our personal "stamps." Our invitations were modeled after a victorian playbill, and included various witticisms that my fiancee and I found to be hilarious. I have spent the last nine months making giant crepe paper flowers that will be our table decoration, and my fiancee scouted out non-traditional ties to suit each of his groomsmen. Because we have chosen to have our reception at the local zoo, a place that both of us went to as children, my Sam Edelman shoes will be (what else?) zebra print. This planning process has challenged us to find various ways to express our personalities and our relationship in ways that our families and friends will enjoy!
My fiancé and I love '90s rock, and he introduced me to so many bands I now couldn't live without. Instead of having traditional wedding music--Canon in D, The Wedding March, etc.--I chose the Foo Fighters' "Everlong" for our processional and recessional. I tell him it's my little joke to him, since it took him 7 years to propose and the song begins "Hello/I've waited here for you/Everlong..."
We're foodies so we plan to have amazing food in a farm environment with many handmade details.
I've been hoping to have Paloma's Nest at my wedding somehow. I love everything!
My fiance's and my personal touch is definetly using Shel Silverstein's Where the Sidewalk Ends as our guestbook. We each grew up with that as our favorite childhood book and hopefully a future child will be able to read the poems we loved as well as the wishes and comments from the people we love that came to our wedding. :)
These are fabulous! I've actually been admiring these bowls for a long time, but haven't pulled the trigger. I'm getting married on October 16th of this year (53 days!) and having a non-traditional wedding with a religious ceremony the day before and a ring ceremony on the 16th. These would be the perfect fit with my wedding palette and theme. What a beautiful addition they would make to our special day! I'd love to show it off to my family and friends and gift my bridesmaids and mothers with them for all of their hard work!
There are a couple of ways that my fiance and I will be putting our personal stamp in our upcoming October wedding. Our favors are going to be little toy champagne bottles filled with candy. The labels will follow the Tanquery gin label because it is a play on both of our last names. Also, the bottles will be filled with Skittles, my most favorite candy in the whole wide world. We'll also be incorporating Skittles on our cupcake cake. =) The personal stamps go on and on!
My fiance and I are planning a rustic style wedding in the backyard of my parents Tennessee home for Aug. 20th 2011. We love unique details and this is one of them! We spotted this ring bearer bowl in April, shortly after being engaged, and fell in love! I loved the "With this ring" quote, but he had another suggestion. We are receding to "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles, and he thought that would be a fitting and sweet quote where our rings wood lie. I'm loving her hangers as well!
Hi,
My fiancee and I are getting married on January 17, 2011. We are so excited, because our location is an ode to my personal family history. We're getting married in Miami Beach at a hotel that was once owned by my great-grandfather during it's prime in the 50s. Now it's under a new owner and has been completely renovated, but it still holds a special place in my family's history. I'm so excited for our big day!
Hi! I've loved Paloma's Nest products ever since I started looking for wedding inspirations. We're trying to infuse as much of our personalities as possible into our wedding. My fiance is in the Army so we're incorporating military dog tags as escort cards. We'd love to have these additional details for our special day!
Our wedding is a DIY frenzy because I wanted to know that I was going to be incorporating as much of "us" in our special day as possible. Too often, the formality of the occasion interferes with the bride and groom doing what they truly want. We're traveling to the beat of our own drummer, and I wouldn't have it any other way.
I love the Paloma's Nest ring bowls! such an original idea! We're getting married in a barn in October and the simplicity of the bowls and rustic hangers would match perfectly with the natural simplicity we have for our wedding.
Our wedding will have a personal touch around every corner! We will be using our engagement photos throughout - for table numbers, gift tags on favors, and in pretty frames all around. I will also be using our first name initials on all stationary before the big traditional ceremony and then introduce everyone to our new monogram as then enter the reception hall! My fiance and I are from 2 different middle-eastern cultures, so we have hired a DJ that will incorporate songs and traditions from both. Another thing we both love is photography, so along with our photographer we will be having a photo booth to allow everyone to just be silly with their pictures... these pictures will of course become a part of the guest book! I'm so excited about all of this... but I do want to incorporate something that will have a vintage feel as well, a detail that can't be purchased at your local craft store, an heirloom item that was made just for the wedding. I REALLY REALLY want to add the Incredible Paloma items to make my wedding absolutely personal!!!
My fiance and I are getting married on July 3, 2011 and we (well mostly I) are looking forward to do all the DIY projects for the wedding. My sister and I are quite crafty so we will do all the flowers by ourselves (I had saved all the vases from the flowers that fiance bought for me so I will be using them for the wedding). I want to have a cupcake table or a desert table with different kinds of desserts as our favors (I'm looking forward to try all the cupcakes out there :P). I also want to design our invitations and paper goods which I will likely to print in Vietnam when I go back to visit the family this December. There are a lot more but I don't want to make you bored. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!!
We're using a lot of personal photos to make everything meaningful - including a memorial spot for a few of our grandparents to table numbers and a slideshow to play during our first dance!
We are having our families and friends be apart of everything. My mother is making the top of our cake, a friends is making the cupcakes, my cousin is marring us, my fiances twins (16 yo boy and girl) are best man and MOH, my best friends husband is our DJ, and we will be getting married in our beautiful backyard that we are in the process of "redoing". We looked at getting married in Charleston, SC because I love it but would not have had all our friends and family there so we moved it to as close to home as possible! We are making the tables displays out of wine bottles (and of course enjoying all the wine) and filling them with flowers we have planted. I cant wait!
Absolutely in love with the "BE HAPPY. BE LOVING. BE TRUE." ring bearer bowl. Sums up our love for one another, what a great keepsake.
I LOVE LOVE the Paloma's Nest items. My theme for our wedding is antique inspired, so , everything about my wedding will bring the past, present, and future together. The hangers would uniquely "stamp" my attire for the day...
Our "personal stamp" is our love of sports, travel and adventure in all of the wedding planning. We are using wooden skis as a guest book, vintage luggage as a card holder, maps, postcards and photos from many different places we've been. We created a unique monogram and rubber stamp and will stamp all welcome bags, napkin holders and miscellaneous cards with this. We will write our own vows and tie in our honeymoon plans - a trek to Climb Mount Kilimanjaro in January!
Although I plan on a ton of personal touches, I really want to make my own altar space, I just can't decide which out the the four I love I should do!
My fiance and I are incorporating heaps of personal touches to our ceremony and reception. We want to share with our, mostly out of town, guests a bit of the life we have shared together thus far. In our ceremony, we are including a mirror ceremony, and sharing of honey- some traditions from the places we have traveled. We are using only local and seasonal food from the Atlanta area, the place where we started dating and are currently living. The honey is also a thread that ties in with our favors which are jars of local Georgia honey. Every aspect of the ceremony I am planning so I want it to be as unique and personal as possible.
My fiance and I are going with a letter invitation motif (a la Darcy and Elizabeth in my mind). We'll close the invitation letters with sealing wax stamped with a signet ring that's been in my fiance's family for generations. Cuteness!
Rebecca J
These are adorable!
We plan on making our wedding very person. My fiancee's family will be cooking all the tradition mexican food, my mom is making the wedding cake and I plan on doing tons of DIY for the decor because I love making things!
I would love to win this! So cute!
Working on a dear friend's daughter's wedding and these bowls and hangars would be so cute to add to our very classic wedding. They are doing a "Handing over of the credit card" after the "transfer" of authority so I think it would be cute for the ring bearer to carry the rings and the credit card in these beautiful little bowls.
I am marrying my sweetheart this coming October and our ceremony will be in an old rickety white church built in the 1800's and from there, it's only a little stroll to the old country Inn. We have so many vintage additives in our wedding making it as special as possible. These adorable giveaways would be more then appreciated and it would be the cherry on top of our wedding.
My fiance and I are set to get married this up coming January! He is currently serving in overseas for the US Army. The personal touches that I have been secretly planning are...I have found an artist who is designing our wedding cake topper; they are handcrafted lovebirds made to look like my fiance and I...his bird will be dressed in Class A's ribbons/medals/beret and all! Lovebirds are a recurrent theme in our wedding! I am also surprising him with a Groom's Cake that is an exact replica of his Unit's Seal!! My sister and I are also making the favors ourselves...secert family cookie reciepes with hand-stenciled monograms of our initials :]
I plan on putting my personal stamp on my wedding next August by making my hairpiece and all of my jewelry. Paloma's Nest is amazing and I'd love to win this giveaway!!
I just recently got engaged two weeks ago and have already decided on my personal "stamp" for the wedding. My fiance and I are going to use our grandparents wedding photos as table numbers. Since we are only going to have 8 tables we will pick 8 of our favorite pictures from their weddings, frame them, and then add numbers. A little way to incorporate them into our big day since they aren't with us any longer.
Stamping the 5 languages my fiance said "I love you in" before proposing onto our paper goods, though stamping them on tiny text bowls would be ideal!
We're getting married next July and our personal stamp is going to be keeping everything as "green" as we reasonably can. All of the paper we use will be from 100% recycled materials, our rings are made of recycled metals and conflict-free stones, and for favors we are giving away tree seedlings.
For our wedding we are having the jazz band that played the night we met randomly (!!!) play for our guests. The fact that I met my fiance' over five years ago at a smokey jazz club on a Tuesday night still amazes me. And to have the group (that I specifically went to see that Tuesday) play for all our guests at our WEDDING is going to be so amazing. I can't wait!
To put our stamp on our wedding we are having our names and monograms on everytihng from the napkins to the flooor runner. These bowls would make a wonderful addition to helping make an amazing day for us!
Our stamp of personality will be our personal vows, wedding colors, modern and romantic theme, and personal photos.
Beautiful Giveaway! We are doing SO much to put special touches that are personal to everyone involved. My grandpa's hankerchief will become a sweet, monogrammed pocket to house a penny in memory of my fiance's grandfather. An family heirloom, my great-aunt's angel pin will adorn the long stem rose I carry down as my daddy gives me away. We rescued an antique baby grand piano from a fiery pit that will become our communion table as I walk down the aisle at our hometown country club. My elementary principal and dear, family friend of almost 20years is becoming ordained to perform our ceremony. Each of the members of our bridal party will be involved as we "tie our bouquet" using single stems to represent the individuals that have been there for us over the years. Wrapping up the evening, we will serve soup and salad from our fave restaurant, Olive Garden. After all, "When you're here, you're family!"
My personal touch.... ahhh... everywhere! I'm getting married in three weeks and it's been a crazy bevy of sewing, branding (yoyos!) dying yoyo strings, collecting doilies and china, planting flats of flowers in my mom's garden so that we're ready to go! I am so excited about all of the little bits of US in our day... we had so much fun listening to potential ceremony music together (and holding hands and crying a bit!) and designing and illustrating our wedding invites together... in the end it's g oing to be all about the two of us holding hands, looking into each other's eyes and exclaiming to all that we choose each other! But it's also gonna look flipping awesome. Would love to add these elements to our day :)
hi! i'm so glad i came across this blog! love it! :) we are on a tight budget for our wedding in november so we have been making a ton of things together--thankfully, both of us are 'makers'. he's a graphic designer and i love making gifts for people. one of my favorite things we've made (so far) is one of the elements for our centerpieces. both of us love to read and have quite a collection of books, so i grabbed a bunch, covered them in craft paper and wrote quotes and poems on the binding in white pen. then i took groups of three books and tied them together with purple yarn (one of our colors and i'm a knitter)...we'll top those with ceramic birds we found drastically discounted at michaels and some potted herbs. it is sooo pretty and so us. :) :)
we are personalizing our wedding day by diy-ing pretty much the whole event! it will be a family affair for sure! everyone is pitching in to help make our day wonderful!
like many people, we are DIYing a lot. from goccoed invites, custome mad lib wedding programs, to having it at my fiance's family farm in which they redid their entire backyard and built us a giant pergola to get married under. we're also having 2 ceremonies, one in cambodian (my nationality) and one in typical US way. Finally, we're having a brunch wedding because breakfast is our favorite meal followed by lawn games because we're not big dancers. Our wedding will be very fitting to our personalities.
Paloma's ring bowls are so timeless and perfect for our simple backyard wedding. Love them!
My motto for creating our wedding has been "simple yet unique." To begin with, we are having our engagement photos taken at UNC Chapel Hill, since we live in the area and my fiance is from here, as well as being a notoriously huge Tarheel fan! I am from Charleston, SC and that is where the wedding will be held, so we are incorporating a lot of "me" and "Charlestonian" things in the wedding: sweetgrass basket centerpieces, sweetgrass borders on the cake, seersucker bowties and rainbow flip flops for the groom and groomsmen, and "palmetto roses" (grass from the local marshes twisted in the shape of a rose) for our out of town guests' welcoming bags. Also, as favors, we are creating cds with songs that describe us, our relationship and personalities, and songs that will be played at the wedding. A second favor will be a koozie with the South Carolina palmetto tree and crescent moon design, with a diamond ring and wedding band hanging on the crescent moon! I am so excited to see all these details come together, and having your pieces would continue to complete my goal for "uniqueness"!!
We are getting married in July. My cousin will be making all of my bridesmaid's jewelry. I can't wait to surprise them with a homemade gift that will always remind them of my special day!
I'm from Mexico and my soon yo be husband is from central Texas, so to add Latin flair were bringing in some glass bottled Mexican sodas and maracas. My mother and aunts will be making my late grandmothers traditional Mexican wedding cookies for my "sweets bar." I have a few traditional Mexican dresses, (the ones with the bright stitched colors and flowers) that I will turn into pillows for a little sitting area for guests to relax near by :). Bright colors with warmth and love the Latin culture brings meshed with American culture.
My fiance and I are getting married in Italy and we want to make sure we add lots of personal touches. At the wedding, my fiance's second cousin, who is a priest, will be presiding over the ceremony. For the reception, we will be having two cakes (since we both love sweets and couldn't decide on a flavor) and topping the main cake will be two little penguins (since penguins are my favorite animal). We will also be featuring bagpipers to honor my fiance's Irish heritage.
Those little ceramic pieces are so precious.
Our wedding is taking place at the historic garden where I work as an environmental educator. My friend is doing the flowers (she grows them herself), another friend is designing the invitations, and my fiance's friends are DJing the reception and playing live music at the ceremony. So I guess the way that we're getting our personalized stamp on the wedding is by having our friends be a big part of it!
We are on a budget and are paying for everything ourselves, so we are trying to do everything ourselves. So our personal touch will be on everything from our hand-made burlap candy bags to our custom playlist (we are acting as DJ) to a our welcome gift baskets. We are having so much fun doing everything ourselves!!
I can't wait to create favors for our guests, and I hope I'll be able to create, at least in some part, the paper goods.
Wonderful giveaway! We are incorporating traditions from each of our different cultures & faiths as well as just making up new ones that suite us. One thing we want to do is pass our rings during the ceremony to have them blessed by those in attendance and this ring bowl would be perfect!
I've been eyeing up the bowls for months now and love the addition of the hangers! I want to have an etsy only Christmas and these will be a great way to start!
I am going to put a special personal stamp on our day by not following tradition just because its tradition but instead making choices that I know will make my fiance and I have the best day together with those people closest to us. A wedding doesn't need to be about the church, dress, food, and dancing if that isn't what will make me the happiest - I look forward to relaxing, laughing, and celebrating over a long weekend with those that are the closest to both of us.
We have tried to make our wedding our own my bringing a Pakistani Italian Irish twist to all our celebrations. Sufi poetry in a catholic mass with Celtic handfasting. An Irish band and bollywood dancers in Rome. All to give a bit of us to the proceedings.
