I feel pretty, oh so pretty… I feel like that should be the theme song for this wedding because it is exactly that. PRETTY. Meagan of Maine Seasons Events teamed up with Susan at Lakes Region Floral Studio to create this wedding au naturale lakeside in New Hampshire. It is elegantly designed, the details edited to perfection and photographed beautifully by Mat & Ash Photography. What more could a blogger ask for? Check out the rest of the pretty, pretty pictures in the gallery.

Laurie and Spencer met in the fall of 2003 when they were both working on John Kerry’s campaign for president in the New Hampshire Primary. They kept in touch throughout the general election and both moved to DC when the election was over. Spencer moved to New York after business school to join Laurie while she was in law school. Spencer proposed in Santorini, Greece on Laurie’s “bar trip” -the getaway that all potential lawyers need after 3 intense months of studying for the bar exam. They were on the balcony overlooking the caldera and over a glass of wine Spencer told Laurie that ” she was the best person to travel the world with and the only person that he wanted to travel through life with” and then he asked her to marry him. And she accepted!
In planning the wedding, Spencer knew that he wanted a lakeside wedding on the lake where his parents own a home in New Hampshire, and they knew that if we were going to ask their friends to come up from New York to New Hampshire, it was going to have to be a full day affair. When Laurie started flipping through magazines she knew she wanted something natural looking that would highlight the outdoor lakeside venue as opposed to something more “done up” that would look strange in an outdoor setting. She knew she wanted a lot of white and a light natural green. The venue that best suited their needs and outdoor tent space requirements (207 guests) was the Margate Resort on the shores of Lake Winnipesaukee in Laconia, New Hampshire. Meagan of Maine Seasons Events was brought in to provide design consultation, event coordination and planning.
Susan of Lakes Region Floral Studio and Meagan of Maine Seasons Events collaborated on the centerpiece design from an inspiration photo Laurie shared with them showing a hob nail milk glass container with hydrangeas. Using Meagan’s private collection of milk glass and vintage silver pieces, Susan created the luscious floral arrangements of hydrangea, lady’s mantle, peonies and garden roses in the colors of green and creamy white and installed birch tree saplings on the tent poles with tiny round mirror garlands to reflect the outdoor setting. Susan made galvanized boxes of moss to insert custom made silver wire place card holders (made by Laurie’s dad!) each holding a small white envelope with guests’ place cards. Susan also made a lily “curtain” and the birch structure that adorned the ceremony location, right on the edge of the lake. Meagan created silver “mercury glass” votive holders for the guest tables with mirror spray paint and clear glass votives and provided a vintage bird cage for the place card table to house cards. Meagan and Laurie worked on the menu design together, Meagan created the final design, had them printed and shipped them to Laurie for custom dogwood flowers to be stamped on each one with green ink by the brides maids. Michele of Divine Inspirations created the custom matte satin white and green table linens and napkins. The high peaked tent and rentals were provided by Eric Foster at Lakes Region Tent Company catering by Curt’s Catering and stunning photography by photographers Mat & Ash. During the cocktail hour guests enjoyed Mojitos, Presbyterians, Spanish music, and for dinner and dancing, Ariel Band provided the musical entertainment. Late night, guests moved to the beach for fireworks, a bonfire and s’mores on the beach.

Gorgeous wedding, gorgeous couple! Who makes those bridesmaids' dresses/what's the color called? It's the exact color I'm hoping to put my bmaids in! Thank you!
I love love love the last photo!!!! beautiful!
Where are the bridesmaids dresses for them! They look great!
So so gorgeous!
That picture of them in the stairs is making me totally rethink my veil! Laurie, where is your beautiful hair piece from?
Hi ladies - the bridemaids dresses are WTOO by Watters style number 628 in slate luminescent taffeta. The only problem with them was the strapless bodice - some of the girls were unfortunately busy willing them to stay up all night :)
Veil is from Sara Gabriel - the most amazing wedding accesory designer. I got the "Wendy" veil.
Thanks for all of the wedding love! It was an AMAZING day and all of my vendors completely exceeded expecations. Special thanks to Meagan for putting all of this together!
Now, back to work....
The bridesmaid dresses are really cute but your wedding dress is stunning! Please share who designs it.
Thank you!
Hi Jen - believe it or not I actually wore 2 dresses. The lace dress in the last photo is by Alita Graham for Kleinfelds, but I bought it at a sample sale and completely altered the dress (it had sleeves). The chiffon dress is Pronovias and was also purchased at an amazing sample sale - one of the best things about living in NYC!
This wedding is very pretty!
What were the flowers used on top of the cake? They're adorable.
Laurie - What a Beautiful Wedding! Can you tell us where you found the parasols?
What a beautiful wedding.I think the photography is exquisite and unique, capturing all the beautiful moments to remember. I appreciate the exceptional work through the eyes of the photographers. Awesome job!
Hey - I am checking with my florist on the cake flowers because I am not sure what they were.
I got the parasols on orientaltrading.com - Nobody used them during the ceremony (their intended purpose), but then when the afternoon sun hit the tent everyone had one in their hands trying to stay cool and avoid getting burned! I was so happy they came out. Friends got some really excellent photos with them.
Thanks for all of the compliments!
The flowers on the cake were white scabiosa. Who knew something with such a terrible name could be so beautiful?
I love the hanging birch branches with the leaves blowing in the breeze.
What a stunning bride. The color palette is so refreshing and lovely, the steel, the white and the green.
What a beautiful day!
Beatiful memories last a life time. The photographers definitly captured the moment. Would love to see more of their work. Great work Mat & Ash Photography !
The image with the wedding party and the texture is one of my favorites!
I love the color in these pictures. The one on the hammock is my favorite.
I live in NH! Any interst in selling me the parasols if you still have them? STUNNING WEDDING BTW.
