More from Jennifer of Salt Harbor Designs:

I wanted to prove that the beach can speak for itself in terms of design, so we chose an inspiration board that expressed the elements of the ocean in a clean and free way. We let the water, waves, and wind dictate our style and the shoot as a whole. The board seemed to embody the dream-like nature of the ocean and the movement of the environment, so we sought these things in everything from the fabric to the lighting, wardrobe, and design pieces. We began at 5 am, making the most of the light and the sunrise. It was truly a morning out of a dream – the weather perfect, the light incredible, and the wind just enough to add movement to all images.

We hoped that the result would be something that felt like a dream with a loose story-line and images only the imagination can create. I think the project made us all take a second look at the place in which we live and realize how lucky we are to have this incredible resource just down the street!

Tilley, this is AMAZING!! I love the everything about this!

  7. Jennifer says:

The dress came from a small local boutique that sells vintage reproductions (Elizabeth's Boutique in Wilmington, NC). Unfortunately, they do not have a website.

  8. Natalia says:

This is the most beautiful wedding ever!!!!!!

  9. The Good Life Special Events says:

Okay, THIS is absolutely incredible! Each detail is romantic, whimsical, and so coastal. Love everything about it!

  10. Mags says:

It's quite pretty and really well-styled! I love the little boat :) So cute!

But some of the choices are a bit troubling. I hope no brides-to-be take up the idea of having guests write little messages in bottles and throwing them out to sea... horrible for the environment! If every wedding guest takes one, that's what, one hundred little bottles bobbing out there? Terrible litter.

And dragging a four poster bed out to the reception site... now that's not harmful, just silly! Pretty but silly and I don't know why you would do it at a wedding at all! There's such a thing as trying too hard...

I really love the four posts and strings of lights, though. And the use of driftwood - sooo creative! Now THAT is great design :)

  11. Kathryn says:

Oh my! This might be my favorite one of these yet!

  12. Event Angel says:

Love the idea, the design, the flowers, the cakes, the photography, the rentals, the make-up and hair, the dress, everything! Outstanding!

  13. Bryan says:

Jennifer, Millie and the rest of the FANTASTIC crew - job well done and stunning in every detail! Having been there to see the bottle and the bed, I appreciate your nod to discovery and romance, as well as encouraging everyone in our business to push the boundaries of creativity. Not every item shown has a literal meaning, but it does inspire conversation and the birth of new ideas. Thanks as always - we had a blast!!

  14. These are so dreamy. Stunning!!!

  15. Megan says:

Not sure why you'd have a chest of drawers and a four poster bed on the beach, but I suppose it's not meant to be real! Very pretty pictures though.

  16. Timmi says:

i'm very jealous, jealous, jealous. these are just absolutely too gorgeous. did i mention i'm very jealous? perfect beach interpretation and oh so different to thousands of others. great pics!

  17. Anon says:

This is one to the most amazing concept to production pieces that I have ever seen. The amount of teamwork and vision that came together to produce this is nothing short of genius. I would argue that there is a set of talent in this area that could rival any production group in the world. Jen, Brian and David, Steve, and Millie, your creative minds working together are amazing. There will be inspirations that will come from this shoot that you will never know. I love every detail, including the bottles. Anyone who knows you and understands this type of concept to reality knows that it was just an idea board. I suspect there are some jealous people who want to drag you guys down.
IM SO PROUD OF EVERY ONE OF YOU AND YOUR TEAMS!!!!!!. Make sure to thank them for what they do too.

  18. Erika says:

This looks like it came straight out of a magazine. Picture perfect. Absolutely gorgeous.

  19. Shae says:

    AMAZING, BEAUTIFUL, INSPIRING....................

  20. Sarah says:

Regardless of the functunality of the bed on the beach, would a photo of the two of you reading together on a bed in that location not be the CUTEST to put in your bedroom?! Some of these ideas are totally not meant to be taken literally, but photos of them could serioulsy be ridiculously cute in one's home :-)

  21. Sonia F says:

Inspiring photo shoot. Really captured the special atmosphere of a NC beach wedding. By the way I've sampled the cakes and confections from Flower & Flour ... they're the best in the Wilmington and Carolina Beach area.

  30. Cortney says:

That is the beach where I'm getting married! Yay! I'm sure my wedding won't look quite as nice as that, but one can hope!
