This wedding has captured my heart. First off, it was shot by the hyper-talented and super awesome Katy Gray of Katy Gray Photography. Now, as if that wasn’t enough, the wedding of Larissa and Brett is so chock full of homespun details and decor, it’s hard not to get sentimental about the whole thing. Just listen: her mom and grandma each had a hand in the invitations; his family helped out with the program fans and wooden signs, her friend’s mom made her sash … even her aunts played the ceremony music! Seriously. If this isn’t pure, unadulterated family love and togetherness, I honestly don’t know what is. (Pssst… Would you like to see all the yummy photographic goodness right now? Then the gallery‘s just the thing for you.) — xoxo, Alison of The Knotty Bride

A few words from our bride, Larissa:
I am from Kansas City, Brett is from Montana and for now we live in Arkansas, so having a wedding in Montana was a no brainer! It was 75 degrees and breezy. With the mountains in the background, and the beautiful green college campus there was very little need for decorations. It was perfect.
One of my favorite aspects of our wedding was our ceremony music. My Aunts played the flute and the cello which brought back great memories of my childhood of when I used to play the Violin. I walked down the aisle with my father to Bach- Cello Suite no 1, which gives me chills everytime I hear it.
I originally wanted to wear my mother’s wedding dress. It didn’t fit and I was afraid to get it altered, so I wanted a lace dress like my mothers but with a vintage touch. I found what I thought was “the perfect dress” by designer Romona Keveza. A friend’s mother made my beautiful sash for me. The rest of my accessories I also wanted to have a vintage feel which I got all from Etsy.
My mom and grandma helped me make our invitations. Brett’s family helped me make all of the program fans and the wooden signs. We also made all of our favors which were packets of wild flower seeds and pink lemonade mix. We decided not to do a wedding guest book, instead we set out a rustic picture frame for everyone to sign so it can be displayed in our home for years to come. We added a little humor and fun to the reception with the “party ‘staches” I made!
I loved the bridesmaids and groomsmen’s attire! I was unsure about the brown tuxes at first but after seeing them on, I thought they rocked! My favorite color is actually yellow but I just loved the way the light pink looked against the chocolate brown. All of Katy Gray’s work is Awesome!!! I couldn’t have found a better photographer to work with, honestly.
Thank you Katy, Larissa and Brett, for sharing this incredible day with all of us! It truly was a treat to see!
xoxo, Alison of The Knotty Bride

YEEEEE!!!! A Montana wedding!!! And a gorgeous one at that! Thanks Alison!
I love Gerber daisies and pink lemonade and birdcage veils!
The dress is gorgeous too. And the sash reminds me just a bit of Chelsea Clinton's belt....
This wedding was beautiful! I love the pink and brown together as well as the vintage feel. Did you also get your birdcage veil and hair flower from etsy?
the pink lemonade idea is super cute!
and, that is the wavy hair i dream of, gorgeous with that veil!
Love the dress and the shoes!! Flowers too!
Love Katy Gray's work! The details of this wedding are fantastic!
Incredible! The detail shots are some of the best I've seen. Katy Gray really knows how to capture the story of the day.
The dress is so beautiful! I also love the flowers on the table, so sweet!
Where did the bride find her dress? It is beautiful!
Yay, Katy! Congrats on this feature. This only supports what I've always thought of your work... beautiful! :)
lovely flowers xxxx
I LOVE those bridesmaid dresses. Any idea where they're from?
How did you make those ADORABLE drink umbrellas? Can you share the details behind that DIY? Pretty please!
Beautiful wedding. I love her veil.
I am in LOVE with this dress!!
Hi All!! Thanks so much for your kind comments!! It was such a beautiful day! Isn't Katy Gray AMAZING!?! Not only is her work fantastic but she was really fun and easy to work with which is SO important!
I used this "how to" to make the drink umbrellas. I used scrapbooking paper, and instead of skewers, I used toothpicks.

The bridesmaid dresses I ordered from Pearls Place in Louisiana, designer Bari Jay.
Veil is from Etsy, My hair flower was actually an act of desperation. I was originally going to have a fresh flower in my hair, but it did not work out. So I found some silk flowers at a craft store that I hot glue gunned together the day before!
My dress is from Kleinfelds.
Love the brown suits!
I LOVE YOUR DRESS!! Do you happen to remember the style number? Thanks!!
I believe it is L854 :) Thanks so much!!
Would it be possible to get the name of who made your veil from etsy, there are so many to choose from.
Love the shoes, where are they from?
I've seen so many weddings on here, but I can honestly say that this wedding really fits in with my personal opinion of what a desirable wedding is like. There is no element that I didn't think 'wow' and I have to say, I adore that bling on the bride's wrist. It's gorgeous.
I really like these wedding photos. I can see the use of debt of field that was used on some photos. Some photos are focused directly at the subject with a blurred background, focusing every attention to the subject only. Some photos even have the full background, meaning they used a higher number f-stop.

Love the hair piece! Where is it from???
shoes I got from Zappos.com RSVP is the brand :)
Que casamento lindo!!!
Are the toothpicks for the drink umbrellas from somewhere specific? It looks like they have cute little beads on the ends—I am looking for something quite similar. Would love to know the source. Thanks!
I used regular toothpicks, I glued very small beads on the tip of the toothpick after I pushed it through the top of the umbrellas so people wouldn't poke themselves! ;P
LOL!!!! on the mustache :) Nice touch. I think we have the same wedding rings.
where are the brown suits from? do you remember the exact style?
Larissa -
I feel horrible bombarding you with another question about your wedding - but the details were just all so great!! Anywho - Where did you find your wedding band? I've been searching everywhere and its exactly what I've been looking for!
Thanks!!
ME ENCANTA TODO, LINDA NOVIA, LINDOS COLORES, LINDO LINDO LINDO!
very cute wedding, they seem so very happy and in love! The lemonade packs were a great idea.
What was the designer of your bridesmaids dresses?
Hi there,
Ok, I am just going to ask a big question that maybe you're not even supposed to ask... Have you considered putting your wedding dress up for sale? I would be really interested if you do... It's stunning!
Larissa,
Please help me. I love your dress and can't decide whether to order in white or ivory. What color dress did you purchase white or ivory? I really love the exact look with the belt and I am trying to create the exact belt. Does your mom's friend have any details she can share on where she purchased the ivory sash and crystal belt? Thank you.
