Are you sitting down? Yes? Good. Because Gia Canali sent me a wedding… and that means momma’s gonna knock you out with some top-notch, no holds barred regaliscious wedding eye candy today. The colors, the vibrancy, the details, the richness, every last bit of this stunning formal affair cannot be stopped. Negar, the bride, is a fashion stylist and Peter, her groom, is a writer and filmmaker. And yes this wedding took place in LA at The California Club – a gorgeous venue to say the least. Decor was in the hands of David Rogers and florals were the work of Joseph Free… aside from this wedding, these two men have worked on events for Vogue and various fashion designers. ‘Nuff said. Enjoy!!! (Are you dying to see all the delightful details at once? Then get thee to the gallery!) — xoxo, Alison of The Knotty Bride

{Check out all this crazy gorgeousness in one tidy little place. No words. Just pictures.}
A few words from Gia Canali:
Planning such a formal affair here in Los Angeles, where we are known for our laidback outdoor weddings, borders on the avant-garde. This made Negar & Peter’s wedding a rare treat to take in: it was so very sensual–with an intimate fireside ceremony, the lacy softness of baby’s breath, and flickering candlelight to set the mood. Plus, everyone was really dressed to the nines. I loved that Peter nabbed a dahlia from one of the centerpieces for a more playful boutonniere at the reception. It matched his polka-dot tie perfectly.
And some from the bride, Negar:
The Ceremony was an ancient Persian ritual of getting married while seated in front of a spread of symbolic items, such as honey, pomegranates, spices and family heirlooms. During the ceremony the bride’s girlfriends hold a silk lace fabric over the couples head and shower them in sugar flakes. A traditional Persian tea and sweets table and a lavish fruit table were other Persian accents. The Ceremony was meant to look like the club did in the 1930s with tall candelabras and champagne coupes.
Thank you Gia, Negar and Peter, for sharing what is without a doubt one of the most gorgeous weddings we’ve seen in quite some time!
xoxo, Alison of The Knotty Bride

Holy moly. When they said formal attire requested they sure meant it! That sparkly dress is STUNNING! And I wish I had known about the Persian ceremony before our wedding. I love that idea! I could have been sitting the whole time under a pretty lace canopy??? Just divine.
The bodice on her gown is incredible. And, I love how much they incorporated babies breathe. I totes think it is an underutilized flower sometimes. It's so light and airy.
Ab-solutely. GORG!
Gia Canali has an exquisite eye... what a lucky couple!
This is the most incredible wedding, real or otherwise, you've featured in a long time. Such incredible old world beauty... I want to come!
This is hands down the most beautiful wedding you've featured in months! wow! I'd love to know the exact name of the dress, I know it's an ML...it is beautttttiful.
Wow, this wedding is the definition of a glam wedding gone fragile. It's almost as if everything is understatedly beautiful- it's glam, but not boastful. Gorgeous. I've always loved those Valentino shoes- and I looooove the tall candle sticks at the dinner table. Traditional and intimate. Beautiful! Love the multiculturalism that was embedded in the ceremony!
Amy, I don't know the exact name of the Monique Lhuillier dress, but it was a sleek dress underneath -- with the flowy tulle skirt over top for the ceremony. I loved that the removable extra skirt gave Negar two different looks (and made dancing a lot easier at the reception, too).
wow.. that is one of most gorgeous wedding picture I have ever seen. The details are awesome
Where is the white sparkly dress from, that is pictured hanging? Did bride wear that to reception?
LOVE that boutonniere!!!
Elisa, the silver sparkly dress was a friend of the bride's, actually, and it was by Badgley Mischka. (Each of Negar's girlfriends picked their own fabulous dress to wear to the wedding).
This is by far, the most beautiful wedding I have seen in a long time!
This is an absolutely breathtaking wedding. Given that the Bride picked the top of the line for her dress, location, shoes, cake, etc - I would hope and pray that it looked as lovely as it did (and she is stunning!) and that they had a blast. No expenses barred, you should get what you want.
wow, this took my breathe away! beautiful!
I've never seen baby's-breath used as the dominant flower - it's phenomenal!
A luxe, out-of-a-painting event, though I not sure how i feel abt the bride and dress were outshone by attendants and accoutrements of the surrounding.
Spectacular. I don't think the bride was outshone by the attendants or the surroundings -- the formal attire of the guests enhanced the beauty of the event. And the bride + her dress was the centerpiece of it all. Timeless and classic.
Mashallah! This Aghd Ceremony is kheili ghashang! Negar is as beautiful as the moon as we say in traditional Persian. Inshallah my Aghd will be this amazing which is only 9 days. Tabrik Negar azizam and I wish you a very happy future with your new shohar. Boos
Some really nice photos here! Nice blog too, keep up the good work!
Glorious, fabulous! And I'm in love with the braided hairstyle, so romantic and chic.
There's only one word you can use for this wedding: absolutely sumptuous!
Omg I'm officially OBSESSED WITH THE DRESS. For reals, that is a beauty that I'm copy and pasting to my computer, to swoon over daily. Lucky gal!
WOW. This wedding is AMAZING!
Oh my god this dress....
Gia, can you tell us the designer/style# of the STUNNING sparkly number the attendant is wearing? It starts off as brown (sequins?) and fades to green? I would love to know! What a perfect complement to the ML gown!
j.
Wow, I like the traditional aspect of it. It seems so elegant overall and I do like the polka dot tie. I think modern-day traditional weddings are the way to go

Hi Gia, you're fantastic and your images so classic! You seem to capture all the most gorgeous beaded-bodiced brides ever! Love this dress and the beaded bodice in that last destination wedding you shot!
PERFECT!!!
i love the "topsy turvy thanks" i would totally send you all one if you picked us :)
This looks like it's a from a different era, gorgeous! Totally did what they set out to do and kudos to the photographer who captured it all!!!
Being a wedding designer myself I wonder two things:
1. WHO the awesome designer behind this event is
2. WHY so often designers get uncredited
or do you all think that all it takes is some make-up and a photographer to make all pretty????
I LOVE the beading on the bodice of her dress and those ethereal arrangements on the long table!
Holy canoli! This is spectacular. And hello? Is that blonde in the brown dress everyone is raving about Monet Mazur? If not, she looks exactly like her. I love her braided hair style. I just might wear mine like this soon!
Beautiful! I would love to know the designer of the sparkling dress the attendant is wearing (the one worn by the blonde woman with the braid).
What a gorgeous wedding! Classic old world elegance at its best!
Where are the candlesticks/candelabras from? I would love to use ones just like it!
Julie, some of the candelabras belonged to The California Club. But I'm pretty sure that the candle sticks came from Ikea.
