Haiti Engagement Session by KT Merry Photography

July 19th. 2010 by Erin | Filed Under | 26 comments

We are going to switch things up a bit and take a little ride down to Haiti for one of the most beautiful engagement sessions we have EVER seen. I know we say this practically every week but this time we are completely serious. Photographed by KT Merry, this is a little peek inside the beauty of Haiti and an unbelievably adorable couple totally in love. Grab a comfy seat and open those peepers up wide because you do not want to miss a single inch of this engagement session.

From Kt Merry Photography:

Sebastien asked for Coraline’s hand in marriage backstage at the show Cavalia (a Cirque du Soleil show with horses) while a horse dropped to bended knee right beside him. Of course Coraline said yes and the couple plan to tie the knot in Islamorada, Florida with a destination wedding. The gorgeous couple live in Port Au Prince, Haiti and brought us down to shoot their engagement session last weekend. We spent an incredible three days traveling all over Haiti shooting in the mountains, throughout the devastation in Port Au Prince, at their tranquil beach house, at their parents hillside homes and in all the little towns in between. The country is beautiful and it was truly an amazing experience being there. It was eye opening to get a glimpse of what living there is like and seeing first hand the destruction from the earthquake. Thank you so much to Coraline and Sebastien and their families for opening their homes to us, it was an unforgettable experience!

Oh. My. Gosh. I'm obsessed. This is just amazing. I love how they really incorporated the beautiful elements Haiti has to offer with the beautiful beach shots and photos from the brightly colored city. That picture of the pair kissing in the ocean while it's raining left me speechless!

KT Merry, you stole my heart girl. I am completely taken by the beauty of this engagement shoot. Simply outstanding. Style Me Pretty, thank you for sharing the beauty of Haiti, my country, with your readers. As if I needed one other reason to love Style Me Pretty! @Zsuza I am sure your comments are well meaning, but wow - quite an assumption there! Not all of Haiti has been destructed, not all Haitians are impoverished. But true, hoping one day a beautiful Haiti for all.

So elegant and wonderful. I was hoping someone could tell me where that off the shoulder floral (?) print dress is from- the picture of the couple kissing over a pool. I am in love with it!

This e-session touched my heart more than any other post on SMP. What a beautiful job by the photographer in capturing Haiti. I love the juxtaposition of the serene shots with the city shots. It shows Haiti in a light many people aren't accustomed to seeing. On top of it all the couple was so nature and into each other. Love it!
