There are SO many things we love about this wedding! We LOVE the charming couple … we LOVE Gracie’s gown … we LOVE Jackie’s photography … we LOVE the bundt cake favors … shall we go on ??

Jackie Wonders (Chester & Gracie’s photographer) first posted their wedding on her blog {here} in May. Sooooo many more terrific shots of their special day on her blog! They are such a cute, cute couple … makes you bust out in a big grin just looking at them!

Aren’t they just the sweetest?
from the bride …
We decided to buck tradition by throwing what many (including and especially our parents) felt was an unconventional wedding. We like to call it… a party! First, rather than a church or hotel, we went with a private San Diego Estate from Estate Weddings and Events as our venue of choice. At the estate, we decided to get married under a giant tree in the driveway (contrary to conventional wisdom to use the driveway as a driveway… for cars). The ceremony was beautiful beyond my expectations. Rather than standard name cards for the reception, I created photo escort cards which featured a memorable (and often embarrassing) photo of each guest with myself, my husband or both of us. It was particularly entertaining to watch guests react, laugh, and share stories over each photo. Instead of a traditional sign-in book, I created a “wedding tree” for everyone to “leaf” their name on the tree {see more on Jackie’s blog feature}. The end result was an adorable, sentimental, and symbolic representation of the ceremony. As foodies, it was critical that we treated our guest to something tasty. We had our favorite San Diego restaurant, Phil’s BBQ, grill their famous ribs on the spot as well as even set up fryers to serve freshly fried onion rings and fries at the end of the night to the pleasant surprise of our slightly inebriated guests. Instead of wedding cake, we gave our guests miniature bundt cakes from our favorite bakery, Nothing Bundt Cakes. And of course, our celebration was topped off by not only the right mix of our favorite 80’s and 90’s jams, but the (often comical) music videos accompanying these songs. As captured in the amazing photos by Jackie Wonders, our day was exactly what we wanted – unconventional, incredibly fun, and ultimately… perfect.
Well … we think … you guys did a terrific job! Thanks so much to Chester & Gracie … and Jackie Wonders for sharing! You can see their entire SMP gallery here.

Love the socks!
Lovin' the socks and tie!!! Oh and definitely gonna convince one of our brides to do photo escort cards.
Thank you for the sweet comments! I had a blast planning the wedding and I miss it!
Michelle - The bundt cake labels were the original labels used by the bakery. I agree, the packaging is adorable and I didn't want to change anything.
Cherrybea - My inspiration was Vera Wang and I had a tailor custom make my dress. It was affordable and a very popular thing to do in Los Angeles. Let me know if you want more details.
