It’s our chance to celebrate even more happy couples, perfect details, talented vendors, and beautiful inspiration. We’re kicking things off right now with this adorable California wedding sent to us by Stout Photography. From Stout Photography…
They married on Mitch’s property/home in Corning, Ca. They wanted a very clean, simple and modern look with bright, bold jeweled colors. With the exception of their floral designs, the majority of their details were DIY. Their theme was centered around the idea of the Oak tree they married under. Lindsey and Mitch spent tons of time chopping tree’s from their property, drilling holes, and branding logs for their center pieces. They tied in the bold colors with their favors by having colored flip-flops as their wedding favors. Martha Andrews, of Blooms, made a different color bouquet/boutineer for each attendant and a variety of different center pieces.
So let me start by saying this wedding is extra special to us…simply because Lindsey is Matt (my husband) and My’s Sister! Yes, that’s right, I photographed my Sister (in-law’s) wedding! Lindsey is GORGEOUS, she is also one of the smartest chics you’ll ever meet. Aaaand, she happens to have a warm kind soul and a smile that goes on for days. All of this combined…well, let’s just say she’s never been short on guys wanting to take her out. But what I’ve always admired about Lindsey is her unwillingness to settle. She insisted on finding someone who was nothing short of perfect. So, just short of a year ago, she met Mitch, with the help of Eharmony.com, whom was head-over-heel’s for Lindsey right from the get-go. Lindsey on the other hand, has always been cautious with her heart. She doesn’t give it out to just anyone. She told us, Mitch is my friend, not my boyfriend. Well it wasn’t more than a month and Lindsey’s Facebook changed from” single” to” in a relationship with Mitch”, and just 6 months after that, “Lindsey is Engaged to Mitch”. As I said at their wedding, I see A LOT of weddings and the dynamics between so many relationships and Lindsey and Mitch’s is next to perfect.

A beautiful weddin'!! Gotta love the logs!
WOw...Love all the pictures...soo inspiring....hhmmm
Was wondering if you could let me know how you did the logs? I love them and we just took down 2 trees in my fiance's house. I thought it would be great to incorporate them somehow but was not sure if they need to dry out.
Your help would be great! :)
Beautiful colors - I adore the floral arrangements and the lanterns. And I'm amazed that they did all the log cutting themselves! Congratulations to Lindsey and Mitch
I love the colors and the way they don't seem to be taking themselves too seriously. What a beautiful event.... I wish I had a big open space of property to have my wedding on!
the little boy holding the bouquet is killing me. So cute! That thing is as big as him
Lexie, I have an email out to Lindsey to get more detail on the logs! Will get you more info asap! :)
I am doing the paper lanterns like that too for my wedding over the dance floor, how did you hang/light them up-it doesn't look like the are plugged into outlets? thanks!!
Hi from Mitch and Lindsey!
Thank you everyone for the lovely comments. We pulled off a wedding that was exactly what we were hoping for. Fun, bright, clean and simple but representing us and we are very honored to have it featured for all to see!!! The logs were used from Mitch's stash of wood he had cut from a fallen Oak tree on his property. They were definitely dried because they were old dead trees-so I would recommend that if you want the rustic look. We picked up small personal brands from the Houston Rodeo and drilled out the lanterns with a 1 1/2 drill bit. The tea light candles slip in perfectly!
Good luck and happy planning
Mitch and Lindsey
Hi Penny
We had a lot of help hanging the paper lanterns from a friend who had done something similar for her daughter's wedding. It took A LOT of time (3+ hours) so make sure you have people to help. We borrowed our friends cord, it was a long electrical cord that had adjustable bulb outlets that snapped on where you wanted them. I didnt even know they made such a thing but you can order the cords from websites that sell the paper lanterns such as asianartifacts.com. They were plugged in- the cord was strung from an extension up the side of the tent wall behind a pole to make it less noticeable.

How did you drill out the flower vases from the wood?? LOVE THEM!!
Jessica did an amazing job as usual--congrats on getting featured here!!!!!
Congratulations Mitch & Lindsey--if we need help with table numbers for our couples we know who to call right? ;)
Such a beautiful wedding!!!!!!!!! I have the same dress as you Lindsay and I'm wondering how you had it (if you did that is) bustled? I'm having a hard time figuring out the best way for it. Love the dress though. Seeing it in a wedding reminds me of how amazing it is.
