Hip Hip Hooray for The Nichols! They always rock our socks off with their gorgeous photography and their latest and greatest creation straight from a family farm in Texas is beyond brilliant. In fact, it’s downright charming. If you are a fan of horses and wildflowers and all around pretty, you might want to take a seat. There were so many awesome details, we couldn’t leave any out. But you all don’t mind, do you? And guess what, there is A TON more where these came from in the gallery.

Why stop there?? There’s so much more of this pretty country wedding we’re dying to share. Feast your eyes on the gorgeous film from Vanessa McKellar…
Shannon & Jason’s Super 8 Wedding | Houston, Texas from Vanessa McKellar Productions on Vimeo.
From the Bride:
I always knew that I wanted our friends and family to feel like they were part of the wedding, not just guests but participants, but I never could have predicted how important they would all become. The afternoon before our wedding day, mid-way through a pre-wedding yoga session, a 30% chance of rain materialized into one of the loudest, intimidating Texas thunderstorms I remember. Of course, we all hoped that the rain would let up and allow us to hold the wedding ceremony outside on the banks of the Brazos River, as we had planned.
a few of our favorite moments:
…when the sun finally broke through the clouds!
…my mother giving me my father’s wedding ring as something borrowed. My cousin, who created all the amazing flowers, tied it onto my bouquet so that my father could walk down the aisle with us in spirit.
…walking into the barn that my friends and family had magically transformed into a party barn to the fanfare of the mariachi band and….the howling of our friend’s dog!
….watching our friend battle the stubborn pinata
…realizing that not only had my friend baked an amazing wedding cake for us but had topped it off with action figures from the toys in the pinata!
…and, of course, our ceremony. Our mothers walked us down the aisle and we had a moment in the ceremony where we gave each other’s mother (our new mothers) a flower and an embroidered hankie. And I loved our vows where we shared why we chose one another, what we love about the other, our promises to each other and our hopes for our future. All of this surrounded by little paper birds on which our wedding guests had penned their wishes or advice – our flock of winged messages.
…we closed out the night of dancing with a bonfire and s’mores.
I had the most fun of any wedding I’ve ever been to! I’m allowed to say that, right? If everything had gone as planned it would have been a nice wedding, but the rain and the love and hard work of our friends and family made it into a beautiful testament of love and friendship. Definitely my favorite wedding!

What a beautiful wedding! I love the table numbers held up by wire wrapped around the rocks, that's a great DIY-project! Especially if the couple collects rocks together. My boyfriend and I like to collect rocks from places we go, like the beach and hiking!
Yeehaw! I'm such a sucker for a bride in cowgirl boots :) I'm loving the eclecticism. The mix of tea tins, vases and mason jars to hold the beautiful flowers is a nice vintage rustic touch. Gorgeous!
You had me at horses.
Gorgeous wedding. Beautiful photos. ♥♥
Oh I LOVE this wedding - the photographs are fantastic and all the little details are just perfect!
What a fabulous wedding and GORGEOUS photos! I love the paper goods - the stationery, the table numbers, the family tree cards - it's all so pretty. Looks like such a fabulous day :)
Beautiful Photos!!! and beautiful bride : )
What a beautiful wedding. I love the photographs taken in the field of flowers.
Such a beautiful wedding. THESE ARE THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHERS IN THE WORLD!!
I love the "Hankies for your tears of Joy"....I was planning to have hankies for people at our wedding because there will certainly be plenty of tears! (I think I may incorporate the signage now as well).
Such a beautiful wedding! Love love love all the cozy details. All the photos really draw a picture of how personal the wedding seemed to have been. Lovely!
I absolutely love the shots in the flower fields. What a beautiful wedding!
Does anyone know who makes her dress? It is beautiful!
What happened to marathon Wednesday??
I look forward to that every week : )
What an amazing wedding! Those flowers are just perfect....Perfectly natural, homey, and gorgeous. And I think every wedding could benefit from some real s'mores!
hankies for joy! i love that idea.
I think I might be in love with her veil. I've been going back and forth on whether or not to wear one and this bride makes me want one again. I love the little flower with beads of color....anyone have any idea where it comes from? None that I've seen make me feel like, "YEAH, I LOVE THIS VEIL!!" until now. help :)
The comment about your Father's wedding ring brought a tear to my eye. A stunning wedding.
I just have to say, the picture of the food is making me hungry, and I see that it's from Pappasito's! I am planning to do Mexican food at my San Antonio wedding next summer, and I hope that people enjoy it as much as I am thinking that they will. So much more fun than traditional wedding food, and you know people will have plenty of energy for dancing afterward!
Dear wedding photographers of the world: Stop it with the pale, overexposed, brownish- yellow-tinged "retro" photos! You aren't being creative! I mean, it was interesting and "original" the first 900 times I saw it... but now it's not!
I love this wedding and the photography that captured it! So many wonderful details.
the details of this wedding are beautiful! just a great wedding!
Holy Texan Hotness! I'm in love!
Wicked! It's hard to get any more romantic than this! Beautiful wedding and thumbs up to the photographers for producing such stunning images. Love all of the compositions and lighting
Shayes - My dress was a Jim Hjelm design. You should be able to find it online.
Teal - I made the flower fascinator in my hair, based on one I saw online. I will post info on that later when I can dig it up. I bought the veil separately from the Etsy shop Twigs and Honey.
And, I wanted to point out that our flowers were from a local flower farm - Billabong Fresh Flowers - and arranged by my cousins.
All paper goods (table numbers, programs, etc) were designed by my very talented friend Emily Kehe.
Our photographers, The Nichols, and our videographers, Vanessa McKellar and her husband, Brent, were both beyond perfect for us. They captured the feel of the wedding and only added to the fun. Thanks, guys! I recommend both of them highly!
