New York City Wedding by Fete and Shawn Connell
We are changing things up a bit this afternoon with a sleek, TOTALLY luxe wedding that literally has me crazy. It’s just so freaking cool…from the raw bar to the zebra rugs and the totally glam style, every little bit of this is insanely gorg. And although we totally get that it’s not exactly a budget style, there are so many little tidbits of inspiration to pull from the look. Designed by the fab team at Fete and photographed by the forever talented Shawn Connell for Christian Oth (who always seems to get the COOLEST weddings), we are dying over this wedding. Fete had the challenge of transforming the classic Beaux Arts ballroom at the St. Regis into a chic, glamorous and contemporary reception space for the modern couple. The bride loved the design of the Delano hotel in Miami – we wanted to create a sophisticated, all white summer look. We laid down a large high-gloss white plexi dance floor and created a fun and dramatic band backdrop with silver hemisphere balls that reflected light. We used mirror dinner tables and oversized vases with large calla lilies, tropical leaves and orchids and used hundreds of candles and glossy white Belini chairs finished the look. Bar – We printed signage and placed within the wall moldings to give the raw bar area feel of a clam bar you would find in the Hamptons or Cape Cod.
Black lacquer in cocktail bar- I personally love rich dark walls,especially contrasting white moldings- so we painstakingly spent 2 days covering the walls.
Escort Card Board- Very art deco and very glamorous. Guests loved seeing their names printed on the shiny black plexi, highly stylized with a zebra pelt.
Mojito bar – Made to order Mojitos in original (lime), watermelon and peach flavors. Fabulous.
Whisky Bar – We had a fantastic whisky tasting bar open all night where the bartender explained the difference of the types of whisky.
Response Cards – We posted creative guests response cards on the wall for everyone to read.

This is the definition of unique & beautiful wedding. So cool! I'm loving the retro-looking oyster bar (yum!) the white candelabras. All the glass and chandeliers make this opulant reception look modern and divine, I'm thoroughly impressed!
I am the studio manager at Christian Oth Studio and was so excited to hear this was going up! Fete pulled together an amazing day for Shawn to work with. We all are so proud of the results.

Michelle-- I was at the wedding and the RSVP cards said 'Your favor of a creative reply is requested.' There was also space for a creative reply, of course!
